Young Master of the Demonic Clan (1)

Ruan Qingmu’s cell phone was still broken when he arrived at the industrial park on the city’s outskirts the next day.

He yawned as he stepped into the studio. He had just entered the door and before getting his bearings, a scream rang out from inside.

“Ahh, you’re finally here! Why is your phone off all the time?” Rui-jie rushed over and grabbed his hand. “I thought you were poached by others and would stand me up!”

Only then did Ruan Qingmu notice that the room was much livelier than yesterday. Rui-jie was joyous and even the customer service girl was smiling from ear to ear.

Fang Li, who had arrived a long time ago, was smiling at the side, with a pinkish color on his white face. He looked a lot better than his usual pale self.

“What happened?” Ruan Qingmu was puzzled.

Rui-jie smiled brightly. “The sales have exploded! After you guys left last night, the orders have been coming in. From last night to today, hundreds of pieces have been sold!”

After talking to some customers who had placed orders, they all said that they wanted to watch the live broadcast first. Seeing as the stock was still plentiful, they all thought they would take their time after the broadcast.

After all, orders for hanfu and ancient clothes weren’t as casual as ordinary clothes, and many wanted to ask questions. So, the hotter the live stream was, the fewer people placed orders right away.

Shoppers were more likely to be shopping at late night than during the day. As Rui-jie was busy until the early morning hours, the traffic didn’t decrease but actually began to increase.

When she asked again, it turned out that the top post of the cross-dresser on Weibo was still trending and many of her fans voted for Fang Li, resulting in a tie in the votes for the two beauties.

After a while, many acquaintances in the circle also jokingly reposted it. Overnight, it became a popular microblog in the ancient-style cosplayer and Chinese costume circles, resulting in an influx of people coming to watch the replay.

As a result, the demand for the products skyrocketed. Rui-jie’s merchandise was of good quality and low cost, and the actual reviews of previous sales were good, so when knowledgeable customers looked through her designs, they believed they had found a treasure.

Rui-jie was eager to call them both in the morning, but while Fang Li’s phone went through, Ruan Qingmu’s phone was always off.

She had no choice but to discuss this with Fang Li and ask him to come over early. By the time Ruan Qingmu arrived, Fang Li had already been broadcasting for two or three hours.

“Xiao-Ruan, can you broadcast a little longer today?” Rui-jie looked at him with hope in her eyes. “I’ll pay you double the hourly rate. What do you think about that?”

Ruan Qingmu froze on the spot. Two hundred yuan an hour, so would that be eight hundred yuan for four hours?

“Do I still have to come in tomorrow?” he asked.

“Come, come. The stock is still plenty! If the sales are good, I will pay you more again tomorrow!”

Initially, she wanted to close down after clearing out the stock. But looking at the situation, she had to ask the factory to work overtime on some designs.

Ruan Qingmu was about to speak when a voice sounded at the door, “My hourly rate is higher than this. Why don’t these two little brothers change jobs?”

Hu-jie leaned against the door, cracking melon seeds in her mouth, with their seed skins flying in all directions.

She didn’t even look at Rui-jie but only at Ruan Qingmu and Fang Li. “I will double the amount she gave you guys and pay it in cash. Little brothers, please consider it.”

Rui-jie’s face turned green and she was about to kick her out when Ruan Qingmu opened his mouth. “Rui-jie, this won’t do. We’re both underaged. Do we have to change clothes on the spot and let an aunty watch over us?”

Hu-jie: “…”

She slammed the door and left in a fit of absolute anger.

Only then did Ruan Qingmu turn back and look at Fang Li. “That… I can do it for three days. Do you want to–”

He coughed. “Discuss it with someone?”

Fang Li’s face flushed red. “Mm. I can make my own decision. Since we’ve agreed on three days, I can do it.”

Ruan Qingmu nodded his head. “Rui-jie, is the total going to be 1,600 yuan today plus tomorrow for four hours a day? Can I get it in advance right after work today?”

Rui-jie waved her hand around. “I have faith in Tiantian’s classmates.”

Hu-jie furiously returned to the room next door. Xiao-Ai was taking off his headgear and stepping down from the live broadcast. When he saw her, he smiled. “Hu-jie, please settle the accounts.”

He waved his hand as he watched Hu-jie transfer the money from her AliPay. “I won’t come anymore tomorrow, telling you in advance.”

Hu-jie was stunned. “Didn’t you agree to do it until the express delivery stops?”

Xiao-Ai slowly and orderly packed his makeup box. “I won’t come here again in the future. Please find somebody better qualified than me.”

Hu-jie was shocked. “What?! Why do you suddenly want to stop? Didn’t you say you would continue working after the 15th day of the New Year?”

Xiao-Ai squinted his eyes. “Hu-jie, I will be honest with you. I ate so many melons* when I watched next-door’s broadcast last night. Aren’t many clothes in your store copied from the one next door?”

*T/N: Eating melon is an internet term referring to discussing and following an issue on online forums.

Hu-jie’s face immediately turned ugly. “You’re only a worker. It’s good enough for you to make money. Why are you being nosy?”

Xiao-Ai smiled sweetly. “But Lao-Niang can make money anywhere. Why should I eat your family’s sour rice*?”

*T/N: Saying it’s a bad thing.

He twisted his waist, went out the door, turned around, and went into the next room.
