Chapter 103: Debut (26)

It wasn’t just Chronos who felt a sting of defeat whenever they missed out on first place. Their fans, the Rings, were also right there with them, living through each moment of frustration and heartache. The first place seemed so close yet always out of reach.

In the midst of all this, Chronos launched the “Parade” dance challenge. Convinced this was their final shot at clinching the number one spot with “Parade,” the Rings threw themselves into promoting the hashtag #Parade_Dance_Challenge with all their might.

Some daringly joined the dance challenge, while others edited and uploaded the members' videos in different languages on UTube. The Rings couldn't help but wonder, were we lacking in international or domestic support?

Stumbled upon this group trending with a dance challenge, got curious, and almost fell down the fan rabbit hole, ah. Don't know who he is, but I like this one here.

Hey there! Sorry for intruding! You might not be interested, but the guy you're asking about is Suh Hyun-Woo! He's the famous center from Red Riding Hood Cha Cha and the idol who turned down the offer to be a cast member in Flying Man! Thanks for liking him!

Caught up in the Chronos Dance Challenge, but who's the cutie on the right? Totally my type!!!

I only recognize the good-looking dancer beside him.

Apologies for butting in! The cute bunny-like beauty on the right is Park Yoon-Chan, the second youngest member of Chronos! They're a fairly new group, but all five members are visually appealing and stage prodigies. Do look at their videos if you can!

*I personally recommend Cha Cha, Moon Sea, Chronos, and History stages!

Oh my...thank you! I went to check out your recommendations and ended up watching all their related videos...I've never seen a group so hilarious and cool, huge thanks!

The dance challenge didn't just spark interest but also pulled in a whole new crowd of followers. Given the domestic fervor, even international K-POP enthusiasts started showing some curiosity. When the most renowned international UTuber among K-POP fans took part in the challenge, more and more international fans also joined in, intrigued simply by the fact that this challenge was about a K-POP idol group.

Naturally, the fans were filled with anticipation. Despite Chronos narrowly missing first place in last week's Music Case, the response from both domestic and international fans was heating up. Now, the gap between them and the perennial winners, Street Center, was frustratingly minimal. While the fact that Street Center had just had their last performance this week was a bit of a worry for Chronos’s fans, their hope was still alive!

And at last, Chronos and the Rings made it happen. After a grueling five weeks of “Parade” promotions, they finally snagged their first-ever number one in a music show. Could there be any greater joy for the Rings? Their forums were brimming with pride and emotion for Chronos.

It was supposed to be a rare pair dance between Joo-Han and Hyun-Woo. However, one of them malfunctioned, while the other stumbled and just clung to the stick, lololololol!

After taking over BlueBird’s trending list and appearing on UTube’s trending searches, Chronos caught the public's attention once again with their unique B-grade comedic sense, which was really different from their stage performances.

Meanwhile, Chronos's manager, Joh In-Hyun had been monitoring the situation the entire time and was itching to share the fans' heated reactions with the fervently discussed Chronos. However, Chronos was currently taking a break from practice for a meeting, planning on how to spoil their upcoming live broadcast to the fans.

***

With only one week left of “Parade” promotions and no significant break in sight, we planned to transition directly into promoting our next comeback song. We decided to kick off the promotions for the follow-up song with the final gift from Chronos History—a live broadcast.

The question arose of how and where to hint at the live broadcast and the follow-up song to the fans. While the company and UNET would naturally guide the crowd, I wanted to ensure that the Rings were informed first.

“We can do the spoilers on Q-app, but are we going to do it together this time?” asked Joo-Han. We just looked at each other, hesitant to answer Joo-Han's question, as we seemed unsure about what approach to take.

After a moment of contemplation, I suggested, “Instead of all of us doing it together and making it obvious, why don’t we split up and do it? That way, we can also engage more directly with the fans.”

We could divide into teams: one for the live broadcast and the other for spoiling the follow-up song. Going solo or in pairs on Q-app could lead to more focused interactions with fans than when we were all together.

Joo-Han looked around at the other members and asked, “Hyun-Woo suggested splitting up. Any other thoughts?"

“I prefer splitting up too. It gets hard to keep up with the chat when all five of us are on the screen."

“Right! I'm for splitting up too!"

“I like that idea."

“Okay, let's decide how we'll split up then."

We agreed to pair up in combinations that would generate the most conversation. Naturally, teaming up with roommates seemed like the best choice. Goh Yoo-Joon slid next to me, asking for a high-five for no particular reason, while Yoon-Chan moved to occupy the empty seat next to Jin-Sung. After some deliberation, Joo-Han decided to join the younger members, predicting that they would be more chaotic.

“Yoo-Joon and Hyun-Woo will go first, and then we'll follow. Is that okay?"

“Sure, the order doesn't matter. Right, Suh Hyun-Woo?"

“Yeah, We will go first."

Joo-Han nodded in agreement. After that, he said, “Decide what you'll do on Q-app individually and what you'll spoil. Make sure to get permission from the agency first, alright?"

“Okay."

Just like that, our brief meeting during the break was over. As our conversation seemed to have concluded, our manager approached us, his face lit with excitement. With his phone in hand, he exclaimed, “Guys, check this out during the break. The reaction to your promise video is no joke!"

“Really? I want to see!" Jin-Sung eagerly leaned toward the manager.

Apparently, the response was overwhelmingly positive, and it looked like our practice resumption would be delayed a bit.
