Xu Xinghe froze.

The blood was on him, sticky and warm.

He lowered his head and saw the wound on the back of Gu Nai’s head.

Red blood flowed out of the bullet wound.

And Gu Nai still maintained the expression from the second before, eyes widened, unable to close.

In the past twenty years, Xu Xinghe has never faced death so directly.

The bloody smell on his nose made him almost unable to think.

But he still stretched out his hand tremblingly and slowly closed Gu Nai’s eyes.

Then he bit his inner lip, raised his head to look at the door –

In the gloomy and dark underground, only dim lights flicked on and off.

A man in a white suit stood at the door with a creepy smile.

Norman Wells put down his gun and walked towards Xu Xinghe step by step.

“We meet again, my little gentleman.”

Xu Xinghe tried to get up, but found himself unable to move.

He kept telling himself to calm down, but his body didn’t seem to obey.

Norman stepped forward, kicked Gu Nai’s body away with his toes, and said with a smile, “I promised him that after I finish this deal, I will let him go to see his mother – I wasn’t lying, they can finally meet in hell.”

Xu Xinghe raised his head and looked at him with eyes full of hatred. “You will be punished.”

“Punished? Those are the words that the weak use to comfort themselves.” Norman smiled lightly, looked down at Xu Xinghe condescendingly. “Don’t be like a common man who complains to heaven and earth, my dear. Retribution will not fall from the sky. Besides, you can’t blame me for this. If you didn’t talk about his mother, he would still be hopeful and live one more night.”

Xu Xinghe looked at him motionlessly, trying his best to restrain the trembling in his voice. “The person from two years ago, was that really you?”

“Heh, I’m thinner than I was two years ago, and my temper is better, right? It’s all because of you…” Norman chuckled. “Do you know how I spent the past two years? I keep recalling the day we parted. Fascinated, possessed, and a little humiliated and afraid… So, do you know how I felt when I heard that you were matched to Ling Changfeng?”

“I don’t care how you feel., I’m already Ling Changfeng’s spouse.” Xu Xinghe tried his best to calm down his voice.

“You’re only spouses in the legal sense, aren’t you? He hasn’t marked you yet, which is… an unimaginable surprise.” Norman was not provoked, but his smile deepened. “But that’s because your relationship rests upon that ridiculous arranged matching, which is why you stupidly came here alone tonight.”

Norman’s gray-brown eyes roamed over Xu Xinghe recklessly. “We will not be this way. When I mark you, we will truly connect and influence each other. Well, I will influence you to be precise. You will be transformed according to my interests and preferences, from your soul to skin…”

“To hell with your motherf*cking transformation! Don’t even think about it!” Xu Xinghe gritted his teeth.

“Don’t be so stubborn, my dear. Your legal husband can’t even protect himself now, and there is no better choice than me.” Norman’s temper seems to be really better than two years ago, and did not react to Xu Xinghe’s verbal provocation.

“You did it?!” Xu Xinghe questioned him with red eyes.

“No, of course not. It’s his old nemesis, Admiral Barron Ives. But I do take a lot of credit for helping. I’ve always had a good personal relationship with Barron, because in some ways we have similar interests…” Norman touched his chin. “Well, he likes younger omegas, and I like nicely scented ones. I’ve helped him find prey before, so from this point of view, we’ve always been a cooperative relationship. I simply instigated, stimulated, and seduced him… saying that Ling Changfeng discovered what happened two years ago, and if he goes further, those transactions between me and him will be dug up, so he took the risk.”

Norman smiled happily.

“But the current situation is a wonderful surprise. I didn’t think that Barron Ives would be Ling Changfeng’s opponent. I just wanted him to create chaos so I could take you away. The situation is more perfect than I imagined. Ling Changfeng died, and even if he didn’t die, I’ll already have taken you far away before he wakes up.”

At this point, the man suddenly reached out and caught Xu Xinghe’s chin. Xu Xinghe struggled to dodge, but was pulled back by him and strangled. “Don’t think about running away, dear. With the marshal’s life and death unknown now, who will care about the marshal’s wife?”

The gray-brown eyes gradually lit up with manic desire. “You will be my wife soon enough.”

“Dream on!” Xu Xinghe managed to shake off his hand, and stumbled backwards to put some space between them.

“Where can you run to?” Norman approached him unhurriedly.

“The person back then was really you? Why can’t I smell your pheromones?” Xu Xinghe stared at him vigilantly.

Norman spread his hands. “Of course I had to be prepared to meet you – I injected a blocking agent in advance, a special blocking agent specially developed for you. Otherwise, it will be difficult if things like that happen again.”

“Besides, I didn’t just prepare a potion for myself.” Norman smiled, snapped his fingers, and an alpha in uniform walked in with a vial and needle.

“In order to prevent you from seeking death, I originally wanted you to sleep all the way, but then I changed my mind. There is another way to stop you from seeking death… From now on, you will live for me.” Norman took the needle from the guard and smiled at Xu Xinghe.

Xu Xinghe looked at the pink liquid, and his teeth clattered: “What is this? Ecstasy?”

“There is no such thing as ecstasy in the world, dear.” Norman shook his head, and then changed the topic. “However, it’s similar to an aphrodisiac. Especially after I mark you, your body and mind will be influenced and slowly controlled by me.”

With a wave, the guard beside him immediately stepped forward and controlled Xu Xinghe.

Against the skilled guard who was also stronger than him, Xu Xinghe struggled to no avail, and was finally brought before Norman.

“This is still the capital city! If you dare to mark me here, once you are discovered, you will die!” Xu Xinghe raised his head and stared at Norman with a pair of black eyes.

Norman smiled: “The premise is that I will be discovered. Moreover, even if Ling Changfeng is not dead and I end up in his hands, it’s still more cost-effective to mark you in advance… Do you think he’ll let me go if I kidnapped but didn’t mark you? You don’t know your husband. Grandpa mentioned Ling Changfeng before. He’s clearly a humanoid weapon that kills people without blinking an eye on the battlefield. But after returning to the capital after being on the battlefield, even he planted in the arms of nephrite jade…”

Norman raised the needle, and poked Xu Xinghe’s neck. “Heroes yearn for warmth, don’t they? If I get caught in the future, I’ll die anyway. So why don’t I take advantage of the present?”

After that, he stuck the thin needle into Xu Xinghe’s vein.

The cold liquid of the aphrodisiac made him shudder suddenly.

He struggled and cursed.

As the liquid in the needle tube slowly emptied, Xu Xinghe suddenly became quiet.

At first the feeling was not very obvious, just a little dizzy and weak in the limbs.

But less than half a minute later, Xu Xinghe suddenly stood up, as if countless ants were crawling and biting in his body, causing unbearable itching and stinging pain.

His body temperature began to rise, his blood began to boil, and his feet began to soften.

An uncontrollable moan came out of his mouth.

A peach red spread quickly on the white neck, followed by the strong and charming floral fragrance.

– He was forced into estrus.

In an instant, Norman’s eyes changed.

Mad and infatuated, addicted and tyrannical.

He took a deep breath, and in this overflowing floral fragrance, the long-sleeping fire pheromone finally broke through the shackles of his body.

The crackling flames swept over the fields in an instant!

A familiar feeling.

Alone in the sea of fire, Xu Xinghe felt like he was being burned alive.

Extremely painful, extremely intolerable.

What to do?

Sinking in the fiery hell, the more he struggled, the deeper he sank.

An omega’s instinct began to awaken. Xu Xinghe closed his eyes, and Ling Changfeng’s face flashed in his mind…

What should he do?

Feeling the change in his body, Xu Xinghe opened his eyes in despair.

A fragment of memory suddenly flashed in front of him…

It wasn’t only the flame pheromones that was similar.

A similar situation. A similar despair.

Everything that happened tonight has a trance-like familiarity…

Xu Xinghe picked up those fragments of memories little by little in extreme pain, and pieced them together to form a complete picture.

In early July two years ago, that forgotten memory.

Pain, fear…

His black eyes suddenly shrank sharply –

He remembered.

Everything!

The truth of what happened is coming right up! It’s the author’s cliffy this time; not mine. Also, more trigger warnings in the next chapter.
