Gu Nai heard the words, frowned slightly, and said solemnly: “The outside world is messy. Ignore those rumors, based on what I’ve learned during this period, Ling Changfeng can’t be said to be indifferent to him. If it is found that Xu Xinghe is missing, even if the port is not blocked, isn’t it still a headache when full-scale martial law comes into practice? Don’t take chances, the first task now is to take him away from Capital Star as soon as possible.”

“I know, it’s not your turn to lecture me.” The scarred man’s voice also sank.

Gu Nai sneered: “You’d better be aware of it. If the task is not completed, the master will blame you, don’t blame me for not reminding you.”

The atmosphere in the car instantly became tense.

In the end, a gray-haired man with a short head came out to smooth things out. “Everyone is here for a mission, so let’s all calm down. We are basically safe as long as we get through the AP-543 pass. Someone will come to pick us up from Pelpa star to leave the Gamma system. Once you leave this broken galaxy and enter master’s territory, we will be completely safe, so don’t worry.”

“That’s the best case.” Gu Nai said, took another puff of cigarette, and then slowly exhaled, “I’ll go see if Xu Xinghe is awake.”

Before entering the small room, Gu Nai smoked cigarettes after another.

In the lingering smoke, he recalled many things from a long time ago.

The planet Pelpa, where he was born, is the most barren planet in the Gamma galaxy. There is no comparison.

There are few resources there. Violence, starvation, and death are everywhere.

There is no medical insurance, no living allowance, and no education allowance. His father died early, and his mother went out early and returned late every day, working hard to earn money for him to study.

This kind of life continued until the second year of junior high school, when his mother fell ill.

His deskmate with double ponytails is the monitor of their class. The little monitor didn’t know what happened in his home, so she asked him, “Why have you been skipping class lately? Even sleeping in class? Just study hard.”

Gu Nai nodded and lowered his eyes, “I see.”

The squad leader was worried: “Tomorrow I will wait for you at the intersection in front of your house, let’s go to school together.”

Gu Nai said yes with a smile.

The next day, he went to a nearby factory to do odd jobs and skipped class again.

When I went to school on the fourth day, the small monitor said angrily: “I came to wait for you yesterday, why didn’t you show up? You must come to school tomorrow, the teacher will cover important exam questions. You can’t skip class.”

Gu Nai agreed.

The class leader insisted: “You have such good grades, you must study hard. People like us must study hard to get a way out and leave here.”

Gu Nai didn’t answer, and turned to look at the spotless clear sky outside the window, numb. Will studying hard really let him leave here?

In the end, his mother’s condition worsened and became the last straw that overwhelmed him.

He gave up his studies completely, and never saw the little monitor who would wait for him at the intersection to go to school.

By chance, he chose a path of no return.

A road that has to be taken even if it is repeated countless times.

——

When Xu Xinghe woke up in a daze, he vaguely heard a few people with heavy accents talking.

He moved his aching limbs slightly, and found that his hands were tied behind him, and his feet were tied together. With a black cloth covering his eyes, he couldn’t see what was happening outside.

“All borders in the northern hemisphere are under martial law! Is Ling Changfeng crazy?”

“Are we still moving out as planned?”

“No, now all the freight containers leaving Capital Star have to be unpacked and inspected, and it is difficult to go the commercial route.”

“Damn! Just one step late! How did they react so quickly?”

Xu Xinghe recalled what happened before he fell into a coma, and combined with the conversation he just heard, his heart sank completely.

He’s… kidnapped?

He recalled Gu Nai’s every move since he came into contact with him, and five big words flashed in his mind – planned for a long time.

From entering the Ark, to the opportunity for cooperation between the two groups, to the proposal to travel to this place far away from Nebula City… Gu Nai’s actions required long and precise planning.

The question is, what’s his purpose?

Are they targeting Ling Changfeng?

He quickly thought about it, assessing his current situation, when he suddenly heard a familiar voice: “Awake?”

The next moment, Xu Xinghe was helped up, sat down against the wall, and the blindfold was taken off.

Xu Xinghe raised his head, and in front of him was Gu Nai’s familiar and unfamiliar face.

He looked around and found himself in a small, dark and bumpy shipping container, surrounded by darkness. There was a baffle in the middle of the container, and with his movement, the sound of the conversation on the other side of the baffle stopped.

“He’s awake?” A hoarse, low voice came from behind the baffle.

“Yeah.” Gu Nai nodded, his black eyes always locked on Xu Xinghe.

“The plan has changed. Give him a few more sleeping pills and let him sleep again.”

“Got it, where’s the medicine?” Gu Nai asked.

“I’ll get it.”

“I’m going to prepare too.”

“You stay and watch.”

With the sound of the door slamming, a few people left the container, while others stayed, but never showed their faces.

Gu Nai sat down on a tin box in front of Xu Xinghe, looked at him calmly. The corner of his mouth hooked up when he spoke, “How is Team Leader Xu feeling now?”

Xu Xinghe replied blankly, “It’s okay, it’s just a little soreness.”

Gu Nai smiled: “Muscle soreness should be caused by climbing the mountain, it has nothing to do with me.”

“Why did you bind me?” Xu Xinghe asked directly.

“Kidnapping ah, usually for ransom.” Gu Nai shrugged. “I can’t help it, I’m too poor, and almost have no money to pay for my tuition.”

As soon as the voice fell, a sneer suddenly came from behind the shutter.

Xu Xinghe knew that Gu Nai was running circles with his mouth at the moment, and would not tell the truth. But he still tried to extract some information from the other party’s mouth: “You are so talented, why are you short of money? You can’t simply find someone to put you inside the Ark with just money, right?”

Gu Nai smiled silently.

Xu Xinghe said: “Don’t tell me, which Ark leader’s computer did you hack? Did you steal their naked photos to threaten them?”

Gu Nai smiled lightly: “Team Leader Xu is still telling jokes at this time? Why, do you think that you are absolutely safe, and we won’t do anything to you?”

Xu Xinghe nodded calmly when he heard the words: “Going through so much trouble to tie me up, you guys will definitely not harm your meal ticket.”

Gu Nai sighed: “Leader Xu is still too young. For vicious gangsters like us, there are no absolutes. If the meal ticket is too uncooperative, starving you is a simple matter. Other things are also possible, so don’t do anything stupid, okay?”

After a pause, he added, “Otherwise, even if we don’t tear up our meal ticket, we can still tear two pieces of meat off.”

Xu Xinghe pursed his lips, and suddenly asked: “You’re indeed a graduate student at Capital University, right?”

“Of course.” Gu Nai nodded, with a very regretful tone, “It’s a pity that I won’t be able to get a degree certificate after such a fuss.”

Xu Xinghe said, “You should know how difficult is it to be admitted to Capital University for graduate studies better than me. Is doing this worth it to ruin everything?”

“Does Team Leader Xu still want to turn me against them?” Gu Nai smiled. “I’ve been on the path of no return for a long time”

“No, you can still turn back.” Xu Xinghe said, looking into his eyes.

Gu Nai shook his head: “There’s no need for you to say this. If I let you go now, can I still go back to study? The entire Gamma galaxy is Ling Changfeng’s territory. From the moment I decided to tie you up, I didn’t plan to stay any longer.”

Hearing the meaning of his words, Xu Xinghe’s pupils shrank. “Then who’s territory are you kidnapping me to?”

“Team Leader Xu has too many questions. Why not take a break first.”

Gu Nai got up and asked the person behind the baffle, “Where’s the sleeping pills? Why haven’t you brought them?”

The drama continues…
