6G communication capabilities

Character Review: Takami Mikata & Takami Morikata

Twin characters, an elder sister, and a younger brother.

The older sister, Mikata, is a user of “Volcano,” which creates and manipulates magma, and the younger brother, Morikata, is a user of “Aquarius,” which creates and manipulates water.

Aquarius is highly versatile, creating thunderclouds for lightning attacks and using supercooled water for ice attacks.

The sister is a hot-tempered young lady character, and Morikata is a sleepy-faced daytime-light type boy who is also Honey-kun’s only male friend.

The next morning.

We were at the stadium in Tokyo with all sorts of equipment in hand, including a modified 6G-compatible device with a diamond semiconductor in an existing product.

The staff was now setting up VR cameras in a total of 24 locations in all eight directions, the top, middle, and bottom of the seating area.

“We were able to get everything ready in one day.”

As I sat in the audience and watched the scene, I was impressed.

“Diamond components were in existence only because they were time-consuming and expensive to manufacture, and we already had samples of 6G-compatible five-sense VR cameras and telecommunications equipment.”

Sitting next to me, Vice Minister Sayuri taught me fluently, as if she were my teacher.

“The development of the device was also progressing based on existing products. The next step is if we could mass-produce diamond components at a low cost. Ah, apparently, the setting was finished.”

“Then.”

As I and Vice Minister Sayuri walked out of the auditorium doorway and moved to the concourse in the facility, I operated the modification device and connected it to the local network in the facility.

When I tapped [Watch] from the dialog displayed in front of me with my finger, the VR mode was activated and the world was transformed.

—Ohh?

My vision was changed to that of me sitting in the audience.

If I turned my head to the right, I could see the audience’s right hand, and if I turned my head to the left, I could see the left hand.

So far, it was the same as conventional VR.

What surprised me was the resolution and 3D effect.

The usual VR was flat, and if you strained your eyes, it was still different from that of the naked eye.

However, the images displayed in 6G were exactly the same as the view from the auditorium where I had just been sitting, and I could not tell the difference.

“Honey.”

Kiriha standing in the center of the field, waving her hand and calling me.

It was an electrical signal sent to my brain by the device, but I really felt as if I was hearing it with my ears from far away.

Although I could not stand up, walk, or move around, I could say that in terms of sight and hearing, it was completely the same as if I were in the flesh.

“We just need the sense of touch, huh.”

As I waited a bit nervously, as we had discussed, Werewolf, Golem, and a number of other combat-oriented abilities appeared in the field and entered into battle readiness.

“Then let’s get started. If anyone can push me into the final form, I’ll treat you to sushi.”

Dozens of students were excited.

All of the combat-oriented gifted students, who were no different from ordinary high school students in terms of income, rushed into Kiriha in their full power from the very beginning.

However, they still could not win.

Kiriha cut through the group with lightning-fast moves, as if she were an Onmyouji kicking out Hyakki Yagyō. (+)

Kiriha stood in the way of the beastly types like werewolves and material types manipulating rocks and metals, punching them head-on, throwing them away, using them as shields against fire and lightning strikes, and calculating that the students would hinder each other’s movements.

Not just strong.

Kiriha had a natural fighting sense.

The sound of Kiriha’s blows echoed in my chest.

The sound of the impact of the huge body hitting the ground hit my skin.

The heat from the flames, light, and thunder that flew into the auditorium made my forehead moist with sweat.

It seemed that the technology of 2040 was capable of reproducing tactile sensations.

However, realistic tactile information had a large capacity and was difficult to transmit through wireless communications.

With 6G, however, this was the result.

Moreover, by switching viewpoints, the audience could instantly change to any of the five senses at any of the 24 locations.

By the time Kiriha had shattered the golem’s chest, thrust the werewolf into the ground, and put a fire and thunder user under another student, I was completely mesmerized by the 6G’s performance.

“Yap, it’s over. Honey, did you see what I did?”

As Kiriha looked at the camera, made a v-sign, and winked, the student who had been playing dead behind her stood up.

“Behind you!”

Knowing my voice wouldn’t reach her, I reflexively shouted.

But Kiriha didn’t make the slightest movement of her gaze, stuck out her thumb over her shoulder, and the student behind her collapsed.

She must have ejected a poisonous needle from her thumb.

I fall back in love with her as if she were the main character of a movie.

—My girlfriend is too good-looking to live.

“How was it? Vice Minister Sayuri.”

Turning off the VR mode and returning my consciousness to the concourse, I asked Vice Minister Sayuri for her opinion about this.

In contrast, Vice Minister Sayuri was really satisfied.

“The performance is excellent. But some people may want to watch the game while talking next to someone they know. I’ll add a feature that will not block real auditory information but will allow you to have a conversation if you watch the game together at home. How about you?”

“To put it mildly, great.”

I made a big smile, confident that the plan would work.
