Chapter 204: Third World: Babysitting A Baby Dragon

It was only after Wen Qinxi spent half a day with a kid did he realise how tiring it was being a parent. He prostrated to the heavens when the kid finally fell asleep in the back seat. He couldn't help but give a shout out to all the parents out there. To him they were rarely celebrated heros.

Taking a glimpse of the curled up kid through his rearview mirror, he had to admit a miniature version of Qie Ranzhe was so adorable.

Even when they reached the small town, Wen Qinxi couldn't bring himself to wake up the child sleeping peacefully but he didn't know where Grizzly's house was which left him no choice. "Ling-er," he called out ever so sweetly while gently shaking him awake but the little bundle mumbled something and pulled his hand to snuggle some more.

This scene was too adorable that Wen Qinxi grabbed what was meant to be Grizzly's phone which he was now confiscating as of this moment and took a snap shot to savor this precious memory. The nerd was too excited that he didn't realise the camera flash was on which ultimately woke up Qie Xieling.

Faced with such a groggy miniature version of the CEO, Wen Qinxi pretended like he hadn't done anything while putting away the phone in his pocket. "We are here lil ancestor. Where is Grizzly's house?" asked Wen Qinxi looking at the dark empty streets.

"Oh...there," pointed the sheepish Qie Xieling who just wanted to sleep some more and he really fell forward after that falling back to sleep that Wen Qinxi had to quickly catch his falling head before it hit the back of the front seat. Amused Wen Qinxi sucked in his lips trying to stop himself from laughing.

The following morning Wen Qinxi woke up early and made some breakfast. He had made a call to Airen last night asking her to come pick them up. At least she could watch over Qie Xieling while he paid an insignificant gang that owed Feng Yu money a visit. He intended to find Feng Yu on his own and return that stupid crystal which is why he wanted to interrogate the gang boss known as Banhen.

Hopefully he would get some useful information as to Feng Yu's whereabouts. According to the game files when Feng Yu attained the crystal, Feng Zi was with him but he blacked out and woke up in the mansion he was living in now with only Airen by his side and Feng Yu nowhere in sight. The mad scientist didn't even contact his son for six years straight simply vanishing into thin air. Just like that he ghosted his son leaving him to deal with the consequences.

Wen Qinxi's train of thought was soon cut off when he heard a heavy flip-flop sound coming from the bedroom. Qie Xieling soon emerged from the bedroom sheepishly rubbing his eyes but as soon as he smelt the mouthwatering scent of pork and carbs mixed in together, he ran over and curiously stood on his tippy toes staring at at the bowl.

"Good morning, Zi-dage," he said trying to maintain a calm countenance but Wen Qinxi could already see he was salivating. Unable to resist such a cute sight, Wen Qinxi smiled with his lips quirked upwards.

"Go brush your teeth," said Wen Qinxi pretending not to see that sneaky hand trying to grab the bowl.

"Ah dage, how do you know I didn't?" complained Qie Xieling licking the corner of his lip that had reminants of dry crusty drool. Wen Qinxi didn't respond just eyeing him with a 'do you dare defy me' look that had the kid rushing over to the bathroom.

"And don't just put toothpaste in your mouth and rinse it off cause I can tell!" he yelled at the brat that was doing the exact same thing in the bathroom. He was busy squeezing toothpaste on his tongue intending to use water to rinse it out immediately but Wen Qinxi wasn't new to the game.

His little brother used to do that when they were younger. Qie Xieling was only allowed to sit down and eat after Wen Qinxi made him even wash his face and comb his hair. It was then that Wen Qinxi told him they would leaving today and asked him to pack up the stuff he wanted to bring.

Qie Xieling was excited and couldn't help but become annoyingly inquisitive. "Sooooooo....are you married?" he asked before putting a spoonful of congee in his mouth.

"No," replied Wen Qinxi searching around for anything useful.

"Why?" asked Qie Xieling curiously watching him rummaging through the drawers.

"Are you married?" said Wen Qinxi asking a silly question that left Qie Xieling stupefied.

"Of course not. I am kid,"

Wen Qinxi smiled when he found a handgun and replied, "I am not married for the very same reason. I am a kid."

Qie Xieling found it so funny that he couldn't hold back breaking into hysterical laughter amused by this silly adult. A beeping sound from the phone in Wen Qinxi's pocket brought the room to silence. As expected it was Airen who was thirty minutes away.

"Ling-er, go pack your stuff will be heading out soon," said Wen Qinxi opening up another drawer.

Qie Xieling excitedly jumped off the chair saying, "Okay....by the way, Grizzly's best weapons are in here," pointing at a locked wooden chest at the corner of the room.

Wen Qinxi was stunned that the kid actually paid attention but he had no time to praise him breaking the lock before arming himself. In under twenty minutes the pair was out of the house blending in with the crowd at the boisterous market. It appeared to be some kind of festival as the streets were decorated with green trinkets and ribbons.

The market was too crowded that he couldn't see clearly so he took Qie Xieling out of the sea of people and stood next to an empty stall texting Airen their location. He turned to the tiny person beside him and said, "She will be here any minute," but noticed the kid was staring at a plush dragon at the stall that was selling kids' toys. He gently nudged Qie Xieling and asked, "Do you want it?"
