Chapter 169: Second World: When A Vulture Is In Power

Talk about kicking someone when they are already down. That's exactly what these generals planned to do to Emperor Zhao. They had been searching for the Marshal throughout all corners of the universe and with no conclusive evidence they decided he was still alive. The man had survived countless near death experiences in the past so how could he die easily. They were preoccupied diligently searching for the Marshal when they found out a certain vulture was already circling over the Marshal's position before the seat had even cooled down.

Even if something might have happened to the Marshal they would never allow Emperor Zhao to take over the fleet which is why they didn't hesitate to hack the imperial palace and make that statement.

The emperor and six Generals were stuck at a stalemate with either side stubbornly refusing to yield. Angry to the point of pulling out his hair, Emperor Zhao finally spoke. "Are you revolting? Is this you committing treason!" he bellowed his body trembling with rage. This is exactly why the UPSF fleet should have been under his authority from the start but his father had screwed him over giving the now retired Marshal full control of the fleet before descending the throne. The former Emperor's reasoning then was that his son was petty and impulsive. If anyone angered him he wouldn't hesitate to oppress them using the all powerful fleet. His son had an inborn talent of starting wars so he was left with no choice but to disarm him.

Emperor Zhao wanted nothing but to retrieve what was rightfully his but it was hurdle after hurdle. The Marshal was no longer a threat but his minions were.

"Hahahaha....wow. You misunderstand me Your Majesty we don't care about your throne. Rule as you see fit but be weary of your limits," said the sixth General after letting out haughty laughter. They couldn't believe the emperor actually thought they would just loyally follow him just because some concil of Ambassadors voted so.

The Emperor saw red in his fit of anger clenching his fists to the point of scarring his palms but he didn't feel the pain dangerous glaring at the disrespectful woman who seemed the list bit unfazed.

"Uh....Your Majesty you actually thought we were so fuckin stupid enough to handover the entire fleet to you? Don't waste your breathe on that. I suggest you enjoy your cushy throne and don't start shit," said the sixth General before all six of them signed off leaving behind a group of befuddled men not certain what they should do next. An awkward silence fell upon the conference room with neither factions making a sound. They were even scared to breath loudly lest the sound of their breathing set off the already deranged emperor.

One brave soul couldn't bare the silence anymore asking, "Your Ma-majesty...do...do we still have to vote?" while kowtowing with his forehead kissing the floor. What gave him the courage to speak was precisely because he was the emperor's right hand man and part of the faction loyal to the emperor but who would have thought that he wasn't immune to Emperor Zhao's anger. The emperor didn't hesitate to kick the Ambassador sending him flying across the room.

"Clean up this mess," he said to his Royal guard before informally ending this meeting. He had one more card up his sleeve and that card was marrying off Zhao Huangzhi and form an alliance with Nibiru a relatively peaceful empire independent to the Valim empire. These two empires had butted heads centuries ago but enjoyed a 'don't fuck with me and I won't fuck with you' relationship ever since. Emperor Zhao needed this alliance to help acquire the fleet by basically using Nibiru's armed forces to pressure the Generals.

All he had to do was express to their emperor that his throne was under threat and propose an alliance through marriage to make up for it but like always the emperor underestimated the capability of his empire's fleet.

This intel obviously passed Wen Qinxi's ears. He knew exactly what the emperor's next move would be before the emperor himself had even thought it. Before Wen Qinxi intervened in this plot line, the emperor gained control over UPSF fleet at the approval of the then disabled Marshal as he trusted Emperor Zhao but now things had changed. Qie Ranzhe was now enlightened to the emperor's underhanded methods and would never hand over the fleet to him so it was only natural he would seek help by manipulating the next powerful person and that could only be Nibiru's emperor.

But Wen Qinxi couldn't concern himself with this right now. He had to figure out how to open this cube shaped box and find the planet rich in Xianore so he could strengthen the Marshal's influence. This would naturally prompt Nibiru to stand down and not overly insert themselves in Valim empire's matters.

For the entire day he had been burning, smashing even biting this cube box to open it and reveal it's treasure but the box like always wouldn't burge. Even the system had also run out of ideas as it had zero knowledge on how to open it.

Wen Qinxi was sprawling on the bed looking lost when the door opened. He didn't even bother lifting his head to check as he knew who it was but the atmosphere suddenly turned stiff almost suffocating as soon as Qie Ranzhe walked in. The man had managed to sleep twenty-four hours straight with absolutely no sign of waking up. Now he was standing in the captain's cabin looking sullen with an uncontrollable amount of his delicatable alpha pheromones wafting into the room like a misty steam escaping after opening the door in a steam room.

"Xie where were you? You left me alone. I couldn't find you," said the tall man his tone taxing while standing in the middle of the room like the eiffel tower if the eiffel tower wore underwear.

Wen Qinxi sat up straight staring at him with a confused look on his face. The man had just woken up after sleeping for an entire day and night but exuded a terrible temperament. "I guess you didn't rest enough," said Wen Qinxi in a sarcastic tone standing up to check on him completely unaware of the impending danger.
