Chapter 151: Second World: Trusted The Wrong Omega

The mystery of how Zhao Huangzhi managed to get Qie Ranzhe in such a sticky situation was unveiled as the Marshal recalled every little details of what happened that day. What Wen Qinxi said before was true, Zhao Huangzhi actually used Zhao Xieshu's name to execute the first half of her plan.

At UPSF headquarters, two hours after Qie Ranzhe received a message from Zhao Xieshu letting the Marshal know he would abandon his suppressants after they get married a packed lunch was delivered on Qie Ranzhe's desk.

Recently, Zhao Xieshu had been spoiling him with packed lunches delivered same time everyday like clock work but this time it was different. Zhao Xieshu hadn't called him in advance like he always did and instead of a call, the packed lunch came with a small note saying, 'Hope you like it. Love you.'

This was completely out of the norm but he had fought with Zhao Xieshu and was just forgiven so he assumed the prince didn't want to talk to him but chose to reconcile this way. The note raised his suspicions because neither of them had used that L-word to each other and he also couldn't recall Zhao Xieshu's handwriting since everything was electronic but he brushed it off unwilling to waste his omega's efforts which was the catalyst to the chain of events.

The bento contained the food he liked but it had a different taste to it like it was done by a professional chef not the home cooked meal Zhao Xieshu always made for him. Dejected, he only ate a mouthful before shoving the bento aside while writing a message to Zhao Xieshu saying, 'I know we fought and I was wrong but did you have to send this indifferent meal over? Is this you punishing me?'

But Wen Qinxi was fiddling with that mysterious cube shaped box that was basically mocking his intelligence so he didn't notice Qie Ranzhe's message till it was already too late.

Frustrated, Qie Ranzhe waited for a response for a very long time but got none so he decided to pop up at Zhao Xieshu's pavilion again deserting his workload without a hitch delegating all of it to a helpless Machu.

On his way out of the office, he immediately bumped into Zhao Huangzhi who seemed distraught with her emotions all over the palace. With swollen teary eyes she explained that she had fought with the emperor about some matter Qie Ranzhe couldn't recall and that she wanted someone to talk to. The omega even went as far as saying that the Marshal used to help Zhao Xieshu all the time when he made trouble in the past so the Marshal should help her too considering their history.

Qie Ranzhe wanted to refuse recalling how mean she was to Zhao Xieshu and the fact that she tried to use her pheromones to seduce him. He only agreed because he was already heading to the palace. He could talk to her along the way but this was the beginning of his nightmare.

He somehow got talked into getting into Zhao Huangzhi's car.

This could be because his mind was distracted thinking of ways to coax Zhao Xieshu and that he and Zhao Huangzhi had known each other since childhood so he didn't mind but as soon as the doors were closed a fine mist filled the car leaving a sweet taste at the tip of his tongue. It was only then did Qie Ranzhe figure out what type of situation he was in.

This sweet mist could only work when the victim was fed the powder first and its combined effect was getting knocked out for twelve hours on average. Everything finally pieced together but it was already too late as his mind drifted off into the dark abyss losing consciousness.

What transpired from then on he could only find out after he reviewed the footage. All he knows is that he woke up the next morning with Zhao Huangzhi lying in his embrace her familiar pheromones filling the room causing him to feel light-headed. As though holding a hot brick, Qie Ranzhe shoved the princess away in a panic vexed as to what exactly happened last night.

Zhao Huangzhi had marks all over her body even her pheromone gland showed signs of having been nibbled into but he couldn't recall any of it.

Feeling the warmth beside her had long since run cold, Zhao Huangzhi finally woke up exposing her naked top half for Qie Ranzhe's full view. Her firm bosom with two pink erect peaks seemed to be calling to him to touch them but Qie Ranzhe was unaffected. Out of Zhao Huangzhi's expectation, the Marshal seemed disinterested with a look of disdain on his face.

"What the fuck did you do?" he yelled stifled with rage. His eyes turned an eerie dark shade with overpowering alpha pheromones filling the room that even her soul was in peril. Her body instantly turned to jelly curling up into a ball in terror as a suffocating feeling stuffed her chest. She could barely breath under Qie Ranzhe's constant suppression feeling as though she was knocking at death's door.

Qie Ranzhe slammed his fist into the wall leaving behind a huge crack in the presidential suite that could only be repaired by replacing the entire wall. Having vented out some of his anger he issued out a warning, "This is your last warning. If you dare to fuck this up for me one more time I will burn you alive!" before grabbing his shirt putting it on while exiting the room but soon halted his footsteps when he heard Zhao Huangzhi say,

"Its too late. He already knows," with a quiver in her voice, "He won't accept you after this."

Qie Ranzhe didn't stick around anymore with his fingers digging deep into his palm in a tightly clenched fist. He had to explain everything to his omega before Zhao Xieshu was poisoned by other people's lies. Judging from his body he knew nothing happened between him and Zhao Huangzhi's didn't but would his omega believe him?

***

Wen Qinxi who was tentatively watching Qie Ranzhe as he nervously retold the entire ordeal couldn't help but ache on his behalf. He sincerely hoped Zhao Huangzhi wasn't like this in reality otherwise he would have to secretly light a candle for his boss. The lives of the elite seemed riddled with dog blood drama which made him treasure his quiet life even more.

He unknowingly took Qie Ranzhe's hand tenderly rubbing the back of the alpha's hand with his thumb in comfort. "It's water under the bridge as long as you have learnt your lesson," said Wen Qinxi his eyes full of sincerity but who knew Qie Ranzhe would take advantage and pull him into his embrace with the Marshal's tight grip wrapped around Zhao Xieshu's waist as though afraid to lose him. Zhao Xieshu was too good to him. He couldn't understand what he did to deserve such a loving omega's affection.

"I give you a fuckin inch you take an entire mile! What the fuck is wrong with you?" he said engulfed in a forceful embrace with Qie Ranzhe pulling him into his body. In this tranquil, silent environment their every breath and heart beat was magnified. Even the vibrations from when Wen Qinxi spoke were transfered from his chest to Qie Ranzhe's chest through their clothes their heart rates spiking at an alarming rate

"Be good and stay still," he said in an imperative voice that had Wen Qinxi submitting to him that is until he smelt a gardenia like scent with a hint of rosemary. Though faint and barely noticeable his omega receptors went crazy instinctively pushing away Qie Ranzhe his anger flaring up again.

It was Zhao Huangzhi's pheromones lingering on his alpha's body. He felt piqued unble to accept Qie Ranzhe until he was clean. Wen Qinxi wasn't even willing to be close to him standing up from the bar stool in haste to the point of almost falling off. Confused, Qie Ranzhe reached over to support him only to be rejected once more.
