Chapter 116: Second World: Alpha Siblings At War

Wen Qinxi's statement was cut off when Qie Ranzhe pulled him into the dark when he heard voices coming their way. Being pinned against the wall by Qie Ranzhe, Wen Qinxi could barely breathe staring at those lips that had engaged with his in a passionate battle in the first world. Memories of the hot sweet taste that he only got to sample once made him unconsciously lean forward but his mind soon returned as a warning trigger set off in that vigilant brain off his.

He pushed away Qie Ranzhe who was preoccupied checking if the people were gone. Being alone with an omega was considered unacceptable Qie Ranzhe had no other choice. He wanted to talk to him but what he wanted to say was for Zhao Xieshu's ears only.

An embarrassed Qie Ranzhe sincerely apologized while creating some distance between them. "Marshal you should seriously consider my reputation. I still need to look for a partner, you know?" said Wen Qinxi as his heart slowly calmed down. He couldn't believe the passionate feelings from the first world had followed him in this world finding himself craving for that addictive, intoxicating sensation.

Qie Ranzhe seemed disturbed by what he said but didn't dare speak his mind. "I thought you already had a lover from the bruises last time," he said with a flicker in his eye. In the Livestream, he had stated that he was single but Qie Ranzhe didn't believe it. Other than during a love spurt who else would dare hurt the omega who was also a prince at that.

"Remember not everything is what it seems," he said gently patting Qie Ranzhe's cheek before pacing away.

Qie Ranzhe was left standing in a stupor with the lingering warmth from being touched by Zhao Xieshu gradually fading away. He found himself smiling foolishly in the dark while staring at the disappearing figure. Something similar to a fluffy sweet feeling taking root within but he didn't even notice.

The entire Qie family travelled home together but for the first time in history, the two siblings were at odds with each other engaged in a cold war despite their age difference. Qie Ranzhe was trying to reprimand his sister for her weird behaviour towards the prince but Mama Qie was well-versed when it came to these things. She could sense a tinge of vinegar from a mile away but chose to say nothing watching the twenty-three-year-old have it out with an eight-year-old.

"He doesn't like you anymore so what's your problem? Why can't I pursue him?" she said in a childish voice and an adorable darkly expression. She looked so cute glaring at her brother with ice-cold hatred.

Qie Ranzhe massaged in between his brow exhausted with this conversation that had been going on for five minutes straight. "You are just a kid. Seriously, don't you see anything wrong with pursuing him?"

"He doesn't like you anymore so get with program Dage," said Qie Sunxie opening the door just as the car reached the Qie Mansion. The young miss stomped into the house fuming with anger.

Qie Ranzhe immediately followed behind yelling after her. "Who says he doesn't like me anymore!" but Qie Sunxie responded by closing her bedroom door upstairs with a loud bang. Only then did he realize that his mother wasn't trash-talking Zhao Xieshu while commending Zhao Huangzhi as usual. Whenever the omega prince came up she always said a mouthful but today there was not even a single peep from her which he had to admit was a little suspicious.

The couple wordlessly sat down as the bot butler brought over a tray serving a highly fragranced tea. Qie Ranzhe initially wanted to go upstairs and rest but his father beckoned him to join them. He reluctantly sat down opposite his parents patiently waiting for them to bring up their favourite subject, 'marriage and grandchildren'.

"Mother, what was with you today staring at Zhao Xieshu all night like that? Did something happen?" he curiously asked while taking a sip of his tea.

Mama Qie didn't respond so Papa Qie had to respond on her behalf. "Your mother things Zhao Xieshu was the one who rescued us from the zerg. That is why she's been acting weird lately," he said pouring some more tea for his wife.

Qie Ranzhe couldn't help but laugh out loud in disbelief. How can Zhao Xieshu take down three zerg by himself? He's the most harmless person Qie Ranzhe knows plus the prince was confined in his pavilion as punishment and didn't step out of his pavilion till the dinner tonight. "You must have got it wrong. Why do you think it was him?" he said as his laughter slowly died down.

Mama Qie didn't blame him if she wasn't sure herself she would have found it quite laughable as well but it was true. That party freak of an omega was concealing his true strength and with good reason. If the emperor caught wind of his abilities he would be forced by law to imprison and re-educate his own son with no guarantee of release. An omega's job was to have babies improving the population demographics of Valim and support his or her alpha with absolutely no hand in the army or politics. This the society they were currently living in.

As Mama Qie his mother explained her reasoning, Qie Ranzhe's smile stiffened with his face looking somewhat unnatural. He downed the rest of his tea that had long since turned cold wishing he could have something stronger. He immediately stood up and made a short call to Machu asking him to scan through footage within a twenty-five-foot radius around the mall for Zhao Xieshu secretly hoping his mother got it wrong. How can Zhao Xieshu subject himself to such dangerous situations? It didn't make any sense to him.

While Qie Ranzhe was secretly investigating him an unsuspecting Wen Qinxi and his team had a major a breakthrough. Debry from the missing pilgrimage spaceship that went in search for the planet rich in Xianore under his mother's supervision had somehow surfaced on a small desolate planet in an unchartered part of the universe.
