The Dark Mages (2)

Anna was very happy to see the demon leave early. When she couldn’t see him anymore, she said to Natalie: “Let’s go eat something good, my treat. To celebrate me becoming a two-star mage.”

Natalie’s eyes lit up: “Okay!”

“Anything you want to eat?”

“Well… oh yes, I heard that a new store has just opened in the west of the city. The chef seems to be from the capital, and everyone who has eaten there says it tastes good.”

“Then let’s go and see!”

Anna had enough savings now, and after upgrading to a 2-star mage, the money would only come faster, so she was less stringent with money.

Because the demon was always not far away, Anna and Natalie rarely had the chance to go out alone, and they were very excited. They got there early. The restaurant was still very empty, and the two enjoyed a big meal comfortably. The sky had just darkened when they came out.

The two got into the Wright’s carriage, and Anna didn’t refuse Natalie’s offer to send her home because she was full and didn’t want to walk back.

When they got to where Anna lived, she got out of the carriage. Natalie suddenly said, “Anna, can I go up and have a seat?”

Anna was stunned for a moment, then burst out laughing. Natalie’s words were like the words that men would often use when escorting a woman home. Usually, “sitting” would develop into “doing”.

Natalie blushed a little. For so long, only Anna had been to her place. She had not been to Anna’s place yet. If they were good friends, shouldn’t they know each other’s bedroom to such an extent?

She hurriedly said, “If it’s inconvenient…”

“It’s not inconvenient, come on.” Anna smiled and stretched out her hand. It was truly inconvenient when Abel was still there, but now that Abel was gone, it was very convenient.

Natalie’s eyes lit up, holding the mage robe in one hand and Anna’s hand in the other, she jumped off the carriage.

“I live in that loft, relatively independent. The landlord is very nice and often invites me over to eat.” Anna said as she led the way. She walked up the stairs, “It’s a bit small, it can’t compare to your room..”

“A big enough bedroom to live in is enough. If it’s too big, the empty space is scary.” Natalie followed behind Anna and said embarrassedly, “When I was a child, I often felt that there were demonic creatures in the room, hiding in the dark and waiting so that they could eat me. It was so scary!”

“That’s normal. When I was a kid, I thought there were monsters under the bed…” Ana said, opening the door and stepping aside, “Please come in.”

As Natalie peered in curiously, Anna suddenly felt uneasy.

There seemed to be some kind of human-devouring monster hiding in the invisible dark place in the innermost part of the room.

“Natalie, wait…”

Before waiting for Anna’s warning, a black light flashed in the dark, and something came straight at Natalie. Anna hurriedly formed a shield of gold element on her right arm and raised her arm to shield Natalie.

The black light landed in front of Anna’s temporary barrier and was deterred for a moment by the shield before it penetrated and struck her arm.

Anna grunted in pain, but luckily she pushed Natalie away with her left hand while blocking this attack, so the black light that struck her arm didn’t hit Natalie.

Natalie was standing near the door, at the landing of the stairs. When Anna pushed her, she stepped on the air, and a cry of exclamation sounded from her. Natalie hurriedly used the Wind Gathering Technique to hold herself up just before impact, and fell somewhat awkwardly to the ground.

As for Anna, she quickly realized the difference in strength between her and the attacker after taking such a blow, and did not intend to confront the attacker head-on. Just as she was about to jump out of the room, she felt as if her mental power was sealed by something for a moment. There seemed to be a vacuum, and the natural elements that she used to be able to feel couldn’t be felt.

Anna was startled. Several black arrows appeared in front of her.

A low voice sounded in the room: “If you don’t want to die, don’t move.”

Her mental power was sealed by an unknown force, and Anna was now just a girl with no strength.

She didn’t dare to move, and out of the corner of her eyes, she caught a glimpse of Natalie below, who was also being controlled. It was a person who was shrouded in black. The other party held a stick-shaped staff in his hand, holding underneath Natalie’s neck.

A man in black also walked out of the room. He approached Anna. Suddenly raising his hand, a piece of black cloth fell upon Anna, covering her. She felt that the cloth seemed to be different from ordinary cloth. He twisted her hands and held them behind her back, taking her downstairs.

Anna could shout, but she was worried that her shouting would attract Givina… These men in black were definitely not good people, and these men would kill Givina to silence her.

Anna and Natalie were taken into the carriage, which seemed to be the one she and Natalie came in.

Her arm was still bleeding, and she couldn’t help biting her lip in pain. But she couldn’t feel any spiritual power now, so she couldn’t use holy healing on herself.

She took a deep breath, guessing at who the other party was.

Were they targeting her or Natalie?

She was already a two-star mage, and she believed that her actual combat ability was not weak. For the opponent to control her so easily, in addition to making full preparations in advance and sealing her mental power, his initial attack was also very extraordinary, at least it was a three-star mage level attack.

And…they had used a dark spell.
