The First Training (1)

Under the gazes of the three of them, Leon stepped forward, stopped by the bonfire, and smiled a slight smile: “Good evening.”

In the Mage Association, Anna did not dare to take the initiative to go to Leon because she was worried about Grace. Although there was still the demon to worry about, the demon was more reasonable than Grace, so right now she was more relaxed than in the Mage Association. She stood up and said: “Mage Leon, what a coincidence.”

“There’s no such coincidence.” Rothgarr sneered.

Leon nodded generously and admitted: “It’s really not a coincidence. I heard from Teresa that you set out here this morning, so I chased after you. The line of life and death has not been very peaceful recently. I want to accompany you; it’ll be safer.”

Anna was a little surprised when she heard this. It was definitely a good thing to have a more experienced mage like Leon, but she guessed that the demon would not agree.

Sure enough, the demon sneered: “I don’t agree.”

Leon looked at Rothgarr with a calm tone: “What’s the reason?”

“There’s no reason.” Rothgarr looked casually at the campfire as if he was too lazy to look at Leon.

“In order to prevent what happened last time, I think you should abandon your immature personal preferences and cooperate with me.” Leon maintained his calm. Although he looked at Rothgarr with disgust in his eyes, he was restrained, “If there is a similar accident again, you won’t be able to protect Anna and Natalie.”

“You can take Natalie away. I will naturally protect Anna.” Rothgarr refuted his points.

Natalie: “…”

Wait, why should she be taken away by Mage Leon? She wanted to be with Anna!

“One person will inevitably make mistakes, having two people will be more secure.” Leon seemed to have not heard the hostility in Rothgarr’s voice. He spoke reasonably the entire time.

Rothgarr responded with a sneer.

Anna looked at Leon and then back at the demon. Neither of them seemed to want to give in.

In the end, she still had to be considerate of the demon’s thoughts. Who told him to be the most powerful here? If she made him upset, the unlucky one would be her.

“Mage Leon, since Raymond isn’t willing, then forget about it.” Anna said to Leon apologetically, then smiled again, “But the line of life and death is so big, we can’t control which way you go.”

Rothgarr was a little overjoyed to hear the first part of Anna’s reply. When she said the second part, he couldn’t help staring at her with a frown.

Leon looked at Anna with a smile in his voice: “That’s right.”

He nodded slightly towards Rothgarr and turned away.

Although Leon’s face was calm, in Rothgarr’s eyes, no matter how he looked, it seemed there was a little bit of smugness hidden in his face.

Rothgarr stared at Anna coldly: “Anna, what are you doing?”

Anna had already brushed the edge of his bottom line in getting along with the demon. This was the result of her going back and forth with his bottom line. She guessed that he would be angry, but he wouldn’t really do anything.

Look, she didn’t accept Leon into their team without his approval, she just said an obvious fact.

“I’m trying to persuade Master Leon to go away.” Anna said confidently, “Look, didn’t he leave?”

Rothgarr laughed angrily: “What do you mean by can’t control which way he goes?”

“Exactly that. You don’t want him to join our group, but don’t you think he knows that he can just follow us from a distance? This is not your territory, he can go as he wants. I just stated a fact, to advise him to leave.” Anna’s tone became more and more certain.

There was no trace of guilt in Anna’s response, and Rothgarr almost truly believed that she was completely on his side, persuading Leon to go away.

He was still sitting by the bonfire, while Anna stood opposite the bonfire. He raised his head slightly. A storm seemed to be brewing between his eyebrows, and he sneered: “Do you think that you can be with him after he breaks off the marriage?”

Anna deliberately sneered and asked him: “That’s how you see me?”

Even without the existence of the demon, Anna wouldn’t have thought about being with Leon right after he broke off the engagement. First, Leon’s ex-fiancee was a bit clingy, and she didn’t want to start trouble with her. Second and most importantly, she didn’t have any romantic feelings for Leon.

She liked Leon, but it was a platonic kind of like, perhaps with some admiration for his knowledge and her gratitude toward him for helping her get started in the Association.

And now, with the demon eyeing her, how dare she show interest in any man other than him? That would be bringing harm to other people.

She had been showing a little interest in the demon recently, and her usual attitude toward him had changed unknowingly. Now that he suddenly asked this question, her normal reaction should be to be angry, right? He was just slandering her for having a foot in both camps!

Rothgarr was taken aback by Anna’s rhetorical question.

When he was in Blue Rock City, he always thought that Anna was a different person, vanity, cunning, and greed. Later, he realized that this appearance of hers was a disguise. In fact, she was a woman who would do anything for magic.

During the time in Black Cloud City, he found that she seemed to enjoy studying in the Mage Association very much, and she no longer wore the disguise she had to wear in Blue Rock City, and became much more sincere. Anna looked so much cuter and more interesting this way.

It was just that she made it hard for him to predict her actions when it came to her attitude towards him. Sometimes he felt as if he could win her heart and propose marriage right away, and sometimes she seemed very distant from him.

He actually didn’t really think that Anna would want to marry Leon. He believed that Anna and Leon had a good relationship in order for her to get advice on magic from him.

He even sometimes suspected that she got close to himself because he could teach her actual combat.

After all, magic was the most important thing in her heart.

Rothgarr always felt that Anna’s mind was very difficult to read, but he was convinced that even if she was so close to him with the ulterior motive of coveting his actual combat experience, she still liked him more than Leon.

Otherwise, why hasn’t he seen Anna that close to Leon. Didn’t she still use an honorific title to address Leon?
