32. Mind reading (1)

[system] ‘Target 3: Shin Do-Gyeom’s intimacy increased by 12 points.

[system] ‘Target 3: Shin Do-Gyeom’s affection level increased by 4 points.

[system] ‘Target 4: Yoon Seung-Jae’s affection level increased by 5 points.

[system] Your affections points have increased and now have 25 points in total.

Ye-Hyeon was distracted by the message window that came to mind one after another. Ye-Hyeon quickly scanned the window that filled the field of view and turned it off one by one.

Ye-Hyeon thought he only fought with Shin Do-Gyeom, but his intimacy and affection increased considerably.

“Why did Yoon Seung-Jae’s affection level go up again?”

Ye-Hyeon licked his lower lip while looking at the back of Yoon Seung-jae’s still sullen head.

As it climbed all at once, Ye-Hyeon couldn’t figure out what was going up and why. It was a good thing for Ye-Hyeon, though it was awkward.

[system] level has been raised.

‘Oh? Why is your level going up now?’

Ye-Hyeon raised his eyebrows. He was disappointed because it was quiet even after catching Zombie Wolf, but the level went up, out of the blue.

Ye-Hyeon checked the quest window once again. There was no content related to experience in the intimacy event reward. Apparently, while the event was in progress, experience points like experience, intimacy and affection would not rise. They would only accumulate.

‘It’s cmbersome. I’m glad I got level 20.….’

[system] ‘ERROR: Missing EXP’ found.

However, he couldn’t be happy to achieve level 20. Ye-Hyeon checked the message that followed and his face turned distorted.

It means that his experience has not come in properly.

In Ye-Hyeon’s status window, there was no experience bar commonly used in games. Since he had to rely only on his senses, there was no way to check how much his experience level went up, as well as whether it was a normal figure.

Ye-Hyeon was upset to think that it might be an error that caused his worries about his slow leveling progress.

[system] Update completed successfully. ‘ERROR: Missing EXP’ has been corrected.

[system] Settlement completed.

Is this it?

Ye-Hyeon didn’t expect much, but he was excited when the message said the system was updated in just a few seconds without telling him how much experience was missing.

‘No, if there’s an error, you have to compensate me! If you fixed it, that’s it?’ Ye-Hyeon squinted his eyes. He couldn’t even believe the system fixed it properly .

Suddenly, Ye-Hyeon I remembered his college classmate who used to play games while swearing at the game company. He thought it was pathetic to overindulge in games, but when it happened to him in person, he was even upset beyond being angry.

‘Why are they running their operation like this? I’m not telling them to do well, I just want them to run it normally, but is it that hard? I can do better than this!’

Ye-Hyeon shook his head as he recalled the words his college classmate used to say.

The college class eventually moved to a new game and was praised as “God Game,” but Ye-Hyeonn could not quit this dating game or transfer to another game.

“Sigh.”

Ye-Hyeon couldn’t hold back his tight heart and sighed deeply.

[system] ‘Hidden Skill : Mind Reading (L)’ has been obtained.

The system threw skills to the disappointed Ye-Hyeon.

Ye-Hyeon opened the skill window by biting his lips. Of course, he is glad he got the skills, but he didn’t trust the L-class.

Everything related to the sim date system, inventory, and status window was L-class.

<Hidden Skill: Mind Reading (L)>

You can read the strongest thoughts of the target.

Skill Level: 1

‘Was this a skill?’

It was clear that he was talking about his innermost thoughts at the end of the state window. Ye-Hyeon read the explanation in a bewildered manner.

[system] Contact target who will be designated as the goal of ‘Hidden Skill : Mind Reading (L)’ (currently available for registration: 1 person)

‘Only one person’s mind can be read?’ Ye-Hyeon frowned and looked at the party member.

Ye-Hyeon’s party was not particularly close to each other, so all they had to do was say hello and say goodbye when they came out of the gate. Sometimes a few people disappeared without saying hello.

He thought one or two had already gone, but everyone was gathered near Ye-Hyeon in an awkward atmosphere.

“……I’ll go.”

Yoon Seung-Jae, who always sticks to Ye-Hyeon every time and made a fuss about going out to eat together on holidays, gave a short greeting and left.

“Uh……”

For some reason, Ye-Hyeon though he shouldn’t let Yoon Seung-Jae like this, but he can’t stop him in this atmosphere.

“Hey.”

Shin Do-Gyeom, who had been strangely quiet since they escaped from the underground, called Ye-Hyeon bluntly. When Ye-Hyeon turned around, Shin Do-Gyeom looked up and down at Ye-Hyeon with an unknown expression, and suddenly turned around and left.

‘What’s wrong with him again?’

Ye-Hyeon fiddled with his earlobes with a discontented expression.

Baek Hae-Won was tapping his cell phone hard, and approached Ye-Hyeon.

“Ye-Hyeon, go somewhere with me.”

Baek Hae-Won smiled and said sweetly.

“What? Where?”

“You’ll find out when you get there. Kwon Joo-Ho, take a good rest.”

Baek Hae-Won strode as if he had to follow without giving Ye-Hyeon a chance to refuse. Contrary to his soft expression, he was secretly determined.

“……See you next time, Kwon Joo-Ho.”

Ye-Hyeon tried to keep his head down as usual, but belatedly added some goodbye. Kwon Joo-ho was standing silently and nodded his head slightly.

Ye-Hyeon hurried to the gate seeker, which was waiting for Baek Hae-Won.

‘It’s the strongest thought…….’

Ye-Hyeon was worried about who to register for Mind Reading.

Today is an exception, but Yoon Seung-Jae was mostly the same on the outside and inside. Shin Do-Gyeom was also twisted, but he was a straightforward person.

“Is Kwon Joo-Ho the best choice?’

Since he didn’t talk much, Ye-Hyeon thought it would be less frustrating to read is mind.

‘He is not thinking I am trash, right?’

However, since there are many things accumulated before regression, Ye-Hyeon hesitated to register Kwon Joo-Ho.

‘I think it’s not bad to do Baek Hae-Won either..’

Ye-Hyeon stole a glance at Baek Hae-Won, who maintains a neat smile.

Baek Hae-Won was unable to put down the phone after exiting the gate.If he is lucky, Ye-Hyeon can get the internal information.

“I’m going to worry about the next gate.I don’t have to register right now.’

It is clear that “Mind Reading” is clearly a useful skill, but it was easy to choose one person.Since it’s a new skill, he wants to use it properly.Ye-Hyeon postponed his decision.

“I’m sorry. I get a lot of calls from the association.”

Baek Hae-Won lowered his eyes then tilted his head lightly. Then he tucked the loose hair back to his ears.

Ye-Hyeon forgot to blink for a moment.Baek Hae-Won was so pretty that Ye-Hyeon could forgive him, even if he said he was going to sell him Ye-Hyeon had no choice but to pretend he doesn’t know anything.

“Don’t care about me.”

“Thank you”

Ye-Hyeon looked out of the window .Soon, he saw a white building. Ye-Hyeon did not know why Baek Hae-Won brought him here.

“Hunter Baek Hae-Won, why are we at the hunter hospital?”

“Oh, Ye-Hyeon, did you never receive a regular examination?””

“It’s been like that.”

Ye-Hyeon was surprised by the sudden topic but answered back.

It is a rule for the hunters to undergo regular check ups twice a year. Though most low level hunters do not.

Even though the association provides some assistance to some extent, it really costs quite a bit. Most of the check up items were tailored for hunters who went to higher ranked gates. There was no disadvantage in not taking any regular checkup.

Of course, Ye-Hyeon did not take it because it was a waste of money.

“I’ll do it next time.”

Ye-Hyeon hinted at his refusal, but Baek Hae-Won did not back down and smiled deeper.

“You already came all the way here, taking one would not hurt.”

“… okay”

At the continued invitation, Ye-Hyeon reluctantly nodded. He felt like he was goiong to be forced to take one even though he refused.

‘Would a mentor even care about this?’

For Hunters, being injured is a routine. He didn’t pay much attention to others unless they were close enough. Ye-Hyeon looked at Baek Hae-Won in disbelief.

On arriving at Hunter Hospital, regular checkups began immediately without having to wait.

Ye-Hyeon wandered around the hospital for about two hours and underwent endless tests. At first, it started with a simple test, but the number of tests that Ye-hyun did not know increased.

‘I don’t think it’s a regular checkup. Are they giving him special treatment because I’m a healer?’

Even though Ye-Hyeon had doubts, he silently followed the nurse’s instructions.

“Get in here. Don’t open your eyes.”

However, when he was told to put his whole body in a huge rectangular barrel, Ye-Hyeon eventually paused.

“Excuse me. What kind of test is this?”

“This is ASDT. I’m trying to filter out whether you have CI or not.”

The nurse answered in a quick, indifferent tone.

“What?”

“We don’t have time. Hurry up and go in.”

However, it wasn’t because he didn’t understand the nurse’s words that Ye-Hyeon was suprised.

ASDT and CI. Although few of the hunters know now, it would be a widely known term that even the general public would know three years later.

ASDT meant ‘ability sustainability and defect testing’ and CI meant ‘curse infection’.

In short, it was a test to determine whether the testee’s Ability status was normal, whether he was controlled by others’ Ability, or was cursed.

Isn’t this a process for a hunter criminal who’s guilty of a felony?
