Chapter 80 - Golden Opportunity

Shades of pink and white coloured the entire bedroom, and furniture of such colours were present inside the huge room. Standing in front of the bed was a girl who appeared to be around fifteen.

Her blonde hair was tied into two ponytails, and a lovely pink dress was worn by her. If it wasn't for the angry expression on her face, she would've looked cute and loveable in one's eyes.

The vase thrown by her crashed against the marble ground, and the two maids present there flinched. Some of the shards pierced into their skin, but none of them made a noise about it. They were too scared to.

"HOW DARE THAT LOWLIFE COME NEAR TO MY JAEHYUN OPPA!" She yelled, throwing the tea cup near to her hand.

"DID SHE LOOK AT THAT FACE OR STATUS OF HERS!?"

Sitting down upon her bed, her mood shifted immediately and look filled with anger completely exchanged with something evil. A smirk formed on her face.

One of the maids stepped forwards, and making sure that her hand wasn't trembling, she handed the girl another tea cup.

Taking a sip out of the tea, she spoke out, "No, Kwon Youngmi, stay calm. You're going to have a fun time ruining that girl."

Her eyes lit up with a murderous glint.

"Clean this up," She ordered, "And inform my father that I'll be going to South Korea. Say him to complete my admission to Starlight highschool."

"W-What do you mean?" Jinhee questioned with widened eyes and confusion written all over her face.

"That was not me who stood beside you all those times because during that period, I was training at my company," Jaehyun expressed.

Jinhee recalled that Jaehyun debuted in October of 2016, and before that, he was required to go through training at his entertainment company.

"Then? Who was he? Why did he look so similar to you?" Jinhee questioned, unable to comprehend the entire situation.

Could it be that she was in love with the wrong male the entire time? From the very beginning, did she not like Jaehyun? Did she even love Jaehyun at some point, or the entire time they were dating, she held feelings for the man that accompanied her?

"It could've been Yejun," Jaehyun stated, "No, it had to be him!"

"Who is Yejun?" Jinhee asked filled with curiosity. Could Yejun be the guy she once fell in love with?

"My twin brother, who passed away," Jaehyun stated whilst staring at the distant sky. His gaze was filled with despondency.

Jinhee just stared at Jaehyun unsure of how to feel. This was the first time she was hearing that he had a brother, and moreover, it was this brother of his she initially fell in love with.

How much more was not known to her in her previous life?

She waited for Jaehyun to continue whilst she stared at him questioningly. The entire time— how could have she been so oblivious to all these?

"The reason behind his death is unknown, and honestly, we couldn't even find his body at the end. He's dead; That's the only thing I know." Tears glistened at the corner of his eyes.

Jinhee's eyes grew wider in shock when she saw that, and she neared closer to him. This was the first time she had actually seen him shed. Jaehyun was good with controlling his emotions.

Wrapping her hands around Jaehyun's waist, she pulled him into a hug and softly patted his back in order to provide him with comfort.

His pains and sorrow— she couldn't do anything to take them away, but she could provide friendly warmth to him. If Jaehyun allowed it, she'd have no problems with being his friend.

Resting his head on Jinhee's shoulder, Jaehyun said, "From childhood, he had a weaker health and was under the strict supervision of doctors. He barely went outside. That's why, rarely anyone knew of his existence.

When I wanted to try out for singing audition, my mother was against it and always thought I wouldn't make it. Nonetheless, when I passed the auditioning, I left home to pursue my dreams.

Until my mother could bring me home, she needed Yejun to act as my replacement in those parties since her social status mattered more. But no matter what, I didn't return home," Jaehyun explained with deep emotions noticeable in his tone.

"I should've returned home then! If I did, then he wouldn't be known to the world or be dead. All of this is because of my selfish desires!" Jaehyun expressed, "Only after did he pass away, I returned home. Maybe my mother is right. I should've died in his place."

Jinhee silently listened while Jaehyun poured out his emotions. She didn't know what to say that moment; She just patted his hand softly on his back, hoping the pain he felt would diminish.

The entire time only one thought came to her mind.

'Ah! Even people like Jaehyun had their own sufferings.'

Unbeknownst to both of them, Chaewon stood on the sandy beach, watching both of their interactions with a heavy heart. What she was currently feeling was not known to her, but what she was sure of was that she did not like Jinhee and Jaehyun together like this.

'Stop getting your emotions involved in this, Chaewon. You'll only lose such a golden opportunity over this. Don't dream of Jaehyun like that; He is definitely not to your level.'
