Chapter 11

When the question was raised, the three of them were momentarily stunned. Duan Qiufeng was the one to answer this time, saying, “I’m Duan Qiufeng, Qi Yue’s boyfriend.”

Qin Jiulin looked at him sarcastically and asked, “How old are you?”

Duan Qiufeng didn’t understand and replied, “Twenty-one, why?”

Qin Jiulin sneered, “And what about Qi Yue?”

Duan Qiufeng answered, “Qi Yue is fine. Is there a problem? We’re just in a relationship. I know he’s young, and we haven’t done anything inappropriate so far. It’s none of your business, is it?”

Qin Jiulin asked, “Did I say I care about you?”

Duan Qiufeng was taken aback for a moment. Indeed, Qin Jiulin only asked about their ages and relationship and didn’t express any concern for them.

Duan Qiufeng asked, “Then why did you ask?”

Qin Jiulin responded, “I just think you’re not a real man. You’re twenty-one, an adult, but you still have to rely on others to speak for you. Can’t you stand up for yourself?”

Duan Qiufeng frowned, “What do you mean?”

Not only Duan Qiufeng but also Qi Yue and Qi Jinglan felt that Qin Jiulin’s attitude towards Duan Qiufeng was particularly nasty. Qin Jinglan herself didn’t have a good attitude either, but at most, she ignored him.

However, Qin Jiulin treated Duan Qiufeng really badly, hurling insults at him right after they met.

Qin Jiulin said, “I don’t mean anything. I just think you’re not a good person.”

Duan Qiufeng, who had a hot temper, had been patient before, maintaining a gentle attitude in front of Qi Yue and Qi Jinglan. But now, under Qin Jiulin’s continuous provocation, Duan Qiufeng got really angry. He rolled up his sleeves and walked towards Qin Jiulin, saying, “Do you want to fight me?”

Qin Jiulin showed no fear at all. As a person who could transform completely into a beast, not to mention taking the form of an animal, even in his human form, there was a significant increase in physical abilities, strength, speed, and physique.

Qi Yue said, “I’m not really sure either…”

Duan Qiufeng interjected, “Well, what’s there to hide? Qin Jiulin found out that Qi Yue was talking to him, and he asked who I was and what relationship I had with them. I told him I was Qi Yue’s boyfriend, and he asked about my age. After I told him, he said I wasn’t worth anything and asked the younger ones to talk to him, while I stayed in the background.”

Zhou Yiyi suddenly realized, “Oh, I see… Well, there’s nothing we can do then.”

Qi Yue asked, “So… should we still go there later?”

Duan Qiufeng interrupted, “Why bother going? If he dislikes me that much, even if he agrees to let me stay here, he might ask all of you to kick me out.”

Qi Yue quickly said, “No, I want to be with Brother Duan.”

Qi Jinglan nodded, “The three of us are together…”

Zhou Yiyi sighed, feeling helpless. “Then there’s nothing we can do. Let’s temporarily set aside the matter with Qin Dasha for now. After a few days, when he realizes how dangerous it is to act alone, maybe he’ll come to us on his

own.”

Duan Qiufeng felt relieved when he saw that they had given up on persuading Qin Jiulin. He was quite satisfied with what Zhou Yiyi said.

Qin Jiulin would soon realize how foolish his choice was.

It didn’t take long for Lin Yuzhe and Wang Boming to return.

Zhou Yiyi happily approached them, saying, “Wow, Lin ge, Wang ge, you’re back? You’ve had quite a fruitful harvest these past few days. Amazing!”

Lin Yuzhe grinned and handed them a few ducks he was carrying. If Qin Jiulin were here, he would surely regret overlooking these ordinary ducks before.

Wang Boming chuckled, “You guys tidy up and prepare the meal. Yuzhe and I will clean up since we’re all covered in dirt.”

Zhou Yiyi agreed, “Sure, let’s go prepare the meal.”

In the villa, there were only Qi Jinglan, Zhou Yiyi, and Zhou Yiyi’s younger sister, Fu Jingjing.

Zhou Yiyi said, “Jinglan, Jingjing, let’s cook together.”

The two had no objections. Having a source of food was already good enough. Now they only needed to cook, unlike the men who had to go out and do physical work, such as fetching water from the river.

As night fell, Qin Jiulin transformed into a giant tiger and took light and silent steps as he left the villa area, planning to go hunting in the wild.

Initially, he thought it would be just his second hunting experience, and there wouldn’t be any major issues. However, to his shock, while he was out looking for prey, he himself became the prey.

Chapter 12

Qin Jiulin carefully observed the surrounding situation in the forest. Although it was very dark at night, it wasn’t a problem for him, as he had transformed into a giant tiger and had excellent night vision. He could see everything clearly.

However, he wasn’t sure about the dangers lurking around. He had to be extra cautious. Of course, the experience from his previous life was also very useful. After all, it had just begun, and many animals hadn’t become as formidable as they would in their later lives. Hunting was still relatively easy for him.

After roaming in the forest for about half an hour, a tiger with black and red markings leaped gracefully from the trees. It appeared to be large in size, but Qin Jiulin couldn’t see it anymore.

Before long, Qin Jiulin decided on his prey for the day—a wild boar that was about forty to fifty meters away from him. The wild boar weighed around six hundred kilograms and looked fat and sturdy, making him feel hungry.

This wild boar didn’t seem to show signs of reversion, but it didn’t matter. He didn’t have to exclusively eat fully reverted prey. It wasn’t easy to find completely reverted prey now.

Moreover, this wild boar was so big that it might have partially reverted in terms of its size. Regardless, he didn’t care. Today’s meal was decided!

Just as Qin Jiulin was about to approach the wild boar quietly, he didn’t notice a pair of golden-red eyes staring at him from the darkness. If Qin Jiulin had known, he would have been startled.

Those eyes were as big as a claw of his current giant tiger form. The true size of the creature behind those eyes was indiscernible, hidden in the darkness.

Unaware of the approaching danger behind him, Qin Jiulin silently moved closer to the wild boar, which was busy foraging. He had relaxed his guard, thinking that he had returned to the past. He didn’t realize the danger behind him at all.

When Qin Jiulin finally noticed, he was already entangled by something. It was only then that he realized the danger behind him.

But it was too late!

“Roar…” he let out a painful roar.

It was then that he saw a huge snake coiling around him, tightening its grip continuously.

.Qin Jiulin couldn’t afford to consider his own excruciating pain as if his bones were being crushed. He transformed into human form on the spot, taking advantage of the snake’s slow reaction, and quickly escaped through the gap.

Upon landing, Qin Jiulin swiftly turned back into a giant tiger and fled in a specific direction. He could sense that he was no match for the giant snake. Fortunately, the snake couldn’t match the speed of a tiger, allowing him to shake off the snake that had been chasing him.

Perhaps as compensation for the earlier attack, when Qin Jiulin was anxiously seeking an escape route, he unexpectedly stumbled upon the wild boar that had been frightened away.

Without hesitation, Qin Jiulin opened his formidable jaws and snapped the wild boar’s neck from behind. Carrying his prey, he carefully made his way back home.

Once he returned to the familiar surroundings, Qin Jiulin gradually relaxed. He dropped the wild boar on the living room floor and assumed his human form, closing all the doors and windows securely.

Finally, he could rest, and he sank wearily onto the couch. He glanced at the scars on his waist and abdomen. Though there was no bleeding, the marks on his skin, tinged with the color of blood, and the achiness in his bones, likely caused by the earlier pressure, made his stomach throb.

This was the greatest concern. The skin wounds would heal without bleeding in a couple of days, and as for his bones, they weren’t broken or fractured, just sore, which wasn’t a significant issue.

The real danger lay in internal injuries. However, there was no accessible hospital for him to seek treatment, nor were there any medications available.

For now, all he could do was rest at home. He had no idea how long it would take for him to fully recover.

After lying on the couch for a while, Qin Jiulin started to feel a bit of strength returning to his body. Slowly, he got up, put on loose-fitting clothes, and dragged the wild boar to the bathroom on the first floor, tossing it into the bathtub.

Fortunately, there was hardly any blood left. The only blood spilled was on the way, and now there were only faint traces of blood on the living room floor, which he quickly wiped away.

To his surprise, even the slightest movement caused him unbearable pain. Helplessly, he left the wild boar in the bathroom and went down to the basement, closing the door before lying down on the bed to get some sleep.

Perhaps after a nap, he would feel much better.

Qin Jiulin drifted off to sleep, but even in his slumber, he felt discomfort, furrowing his brow deeply.

In the pitch-black night, there was a long, black shadow silently gliding across the ground. A pair of golden-red eyes flashed by, accompanied by a hissing sound that gradually faded into the distance.

The shadow’s final appearance happened to be just outside the villa where Qin Jiulin resided.

A pair of cold vertical pupils stared at the mansion for a few minutes before stealthily retreating into the darkness, eventually disappearing. However, Qin Jiulin, who was fast asleep, remained completely unaware of it.

When Qin Jiulin opened his eyes, he felt disoriented. For the first few seconds, he had no idea what had happened or where he was.

After a moment, when he regained his senses, two minutes had already passed. He moved his hands and legs and realized there was no major issue. However, as he tried to get up, he suddenly found it somewhat difficult.

His waist ached, his stomach ached, and apart from his hands, legs, neck, and head, his chest, back, abdomen, ribs, and even his skin hurt in various places.

He let out a low groan and rolled over, clutching the blanket uncomfortably. “Why do I feel worse after waking up? How am I supposed to cook and eat like this?”

After tossing and turning on the bed, Qin Jiulin gradually adapted to the discomfort. Slowly, he got up, using his hands to support his waist from behind and grimacing as he stood up.

“Damn it…”

After a few steps to adjust, he slowly made his way out of the basement, back to the living room. He touched his stomach, unsure if it was because of the subtle pain inside, but he didn’t feel hungry.

However, not feeling hungry didn’t mean he wasn’t hungry. There was a wild boar waiting for him in the bathroom, and if he could manage it, he would feast on the several hundred pounds of wild boar to replenish himself.

As Qin Jiulin endured his physical discomfort and began tidying up the wild boar in the bathroom, a figure appeared outside the villa’s main gate. The person looked around and, not seeing anyone, reached out their hand, intending to press the doorbell.
