Chapter 1503 Red Creature

Chapter 1503 Red Creature The leader looked at the first subordinate fell down.

He didn't even know what happened. There are not any notable injuries. There is no bleeding. It is like the man died on the spot without any reason.

But that is just the start. Another person died right after the first and that one is followed by the third and then the fourth.

One guard after another, they all fell down.

Only the leader was left behind, who was surrounded by a bunch of these humanoid water creatures and to his dismay, he is fighting with them in the waves.

At the spot where no matter how much, he tried to destroy them, the water creatures are using the surrounding water to make a comeback.

Before he knew the guard leader is trapped in the middle of a dozen of these creatures.

All of them made a move and he is enveloped in a large water bubble, swallowing tons of seawater as he drowned in it.

The water creatures looked around and noticed that there is no one in the surroundings. They picked up the dead bodies of the people and started going back into the sea.

They swam back to the tower and laid down the dead bodies near the tower on the seafloor.

As they watched, a few very thin tentacles came out of the tower and impaled into the dead bodies.

The tentacle that hit the guard leader, started sucking the blood. It is thin and flowing just like a normal person's blood, but the same thing couldn't be said to the rest of the guards.

The tentacle is transparent and if anyone could see it, they would have noticed that the blood is thick and a bit like a translucent slime.

It is so thick that it is impossible to flow. If not for the strong sucking force of the tentacle, it wouldn't even be possible for it to come out of the body with that thickness.

The blood was sucked into the tower.

A few humanoid creatures, buried the rest of the bodies into the ground on the seafloor, before they swam toward the shore.

Now, they went for the port instead of the beach.

While they are making their way there, to the port, everything is bustling even more than usual.

The port authorities gathered together.

"We got a report about some weird sea creatures popping at the beach. The beach guards are killed and even their bodies are gone. We need to start investigating. We are activating the emergency protocol.

Send all of the people on the boats back into the city. We are taking all of the boats and we need to investigate what happened as fast as possible."

The person in charge of the port ordered his subordinates.

He is a late-stage transcendent stage cultivator of the Astral Plane. Apparently not that strong. Most of his subordinates are in the initial stages and middle stages of the same realm.

But he is confident about investigating what happened and directed all of his subordinates to go and prepare.

A group went on to the first ship and started preparing it to set sail as a scouting party.

But as they were in the middle of preparing the ship.

*CRASH*

Four long, think and sharp water streams were shot upwards they pierced through the bottom of the ship and broke through everything on the way until they destroyed the top and broke the whole thing in half.

The ship started drowning immediately and the guards who fell into the water along with the ship were surrounded by the glowing humanoid water creatures.

They all attacked them and tried to drown them in the water without giving them any chance to recover.

The water spears streaked through as frothy water turned bloody. The person in charge of the port was shocked as he looked at the bloody waters, frothing vigorously suddenly calmed down.

Not even a single dead body floated. All of them were taken away by the creatures.

"Call the city lord. I cannot handle this problem. This is way out of our league.

Tell everyone to stay away from the waters. Tell them to move us deeper into the land as possible. Nobody is to stay anywhere near the shore."

After ordering, he started moving all of the important documents in his office and went to meet the city lord himself.

By the time, he went there, the news already reached the city lord because of his subordinates.

"How is the situation there?"

The city lord asked with a frown.

"We can't say. The creatures didn't come out after they attacked the ships. When I was coming here, they have destroyed all kinds of ships, irrespective of their sizes and kinds.

It seems like they are claiming the sea for themselves."

"Are you sure they are not cultivators?"

"No. They don't have a face, eyes, nose or mouth. They are completely flat-faced. They are glowing and the water barrier around them is almost impossible to defeat when they are in the water.

That is the report I got.

From what I saw when they are destroying the ships and crew, they can use the water of the sea to their will as long as they are in it.

They recover pretty quickly too."

"So, we need to lure them out and kill them."

"That is the only possibility that I see."

They discussed various plans based on the information they have.

For the next few hours, there is no activity from these creatures. They are completely silent. The city lord took this time to create barricades and arrange soldiers at the edge of the city. He also evacuated the people from the outer circles of the city to stay deeper inside temporarily.

They waited for four hours. But there is not a single trace of the creatures on the shore.

Meanwhile, the sea is riddled with these humanoid creatures and several sea creatures that swallowed the blobs.

There are more than a hundred of these creatures and the speed of the blobs coming out changed from one every five minutes to, one every two minutes.

And its speed kept on increasing with time.

Apart from that, there is also another change.

With the input of the corpses and their blood, a small section of the tower turned into bright blood-red from the blue.

After it became bright enough to stand out completely even in that dark deep sea, it moved to the top and a red glowing blob came out of the top.

It landed on the ground and soon it started turning into the big red glowing humanoid creature. Even the water that came into contact with the creature and became its armour turned red.

The creature is a bit taller than the rest and it looked way stronger. The rest of the creatures completely gave way to it as they let it lead the way.

As dusk arrived, the sea started shining with dozens of these glowing orbs as they made their way to the shore with the red creature in the lead.

The city lord was stunned when he saw the hundred or so creatures and beasts coming onto the shore and gulped down.

He moved to the front lines and commanded.

"Archers and other long-range attackers, attack without discrimination. Use your full power. Don't hold back.

Close combat shouldn't be engaged until they are far away from the sea.

Don't give them chase or fight them closely when they are near the sea."

He commanded as he took out his sword and got ready.

The ranged attacks were made on the creatures from the barricade, but there is only so much damage the arrows did to the creatures, particularly the red creatures. Even though a lot of attacks were focused on it, nothing happened.

The only thing they did is slow down the creatures as they ran forward with extreme speed. The beasts in particular are making this very difficult as they too most of the attacks voluntarily.

By the time, they needed to engage in close combat, less than ten water creatures were dead.

The city lord held his sword tightly and made his move against the red creature,

He is a Peak stage transcendent cultivator of the Astral Plane.

But even he is feeling a bit afraid of the red creature when he saw it.

He started attacking it. The red creature started throwing red coloured water spears. It barely dodged anything and it is certainly not skilled at the battle techniques.

As they clashed, the red creature only cared about one thing which weirded out the city lord.

And that is touching him constantly.

The red creature blocked the attacks with its slimy body and focused on touching the body directly.

For the first few times, he really didn't understand, what is happening. The only thing he could think of is that the shield on the body slowly drained down in brightness and weakened.

But before he could get happier because of this situation, he faced something that sent shivers down his spine.
