Chapter 221: Set of the Monstrous Tyrant

Chapter 221: Set of the Monstrous Tyrant

Legendary - Monstrous Psych: Within the range of your Psych Domain, you can now create monsters out of matter. Anything skill, or attack, will be attacked by your loyal guardians. If one of your monsters is destroyed, it expends mana. Scales with Wisdom.

Huh.

Astrid scratched her head as she summonde her new skill. It was just like before: a translucent ring around her that no-one but her could see, but when she channelled mana into it, monstrous forms were created by the second.

It required a lot of mana, especially the more powerful monsters. But it was exactly like Jabari’s own skill.

The outer ring had weaker monsters, and the further one went in, they would encounter more powerful monsters. Eventually, they would be met with the final boss: Astrid herself.

It was a useful skill that improved her defence even further. She no longer had to block skills herself, not only that, but her defence now had an offence at the same time.Updated from novelb(i)n.c(o)m

Not only that, but the skill had reverted back to Level 1. She would now have to start from the beginning, levelling the skill once more. However, that was a small price to pay to upgrade a skill from Rare, all the way to Legendary.

It was a massive chasm that had been crossed. And it only made certain that her future would remain bright.

With Jabari defeated, his army had lost its way, and without a master to command them, they scuttled into the forest never to be seen again.

At first Astrid thought they would simply just crumble to dust, but it seemed the young Sovereign Candidate had actually reared them up; not summoned them.

It was a startling discovery. It meant that the monster tamer had raised tens of thousands of monsters. He could still activate their evolution, as he did so with the smaller spiders, transforming them into the assault arachnids. But it seemed that his Skills had limitations.

Astrid shook her head. She couldn’t imagine housing that many monsters. Especially spiders! He was crazy. Insane! Astrid thanked the goddess that she could create them from matter.

Of course, her receiving the skill upgrade was only the beginning of the messages.

Astrid pouted at the message. After a quick glance, she noticed that her highest rarity skills still in the first stage had finally reached Level ten. However, because of the fact that they were of such quality, she hadn’t yet met the requirements needed.

What were those requirements? She didn’t know. It didn’t tell her.

Sighing, Astrid wondered why the System had to be so mysterious. If only it told her directly how to evolve them, life would be so much easier.

In total, it was Left Eye of Mana, and Dominating Sovereigns Eye that had reached max Level. Along with a nice added bonus...

Swordsmanship has reached max Level.

Oh, give me something good!

| Set piece 2: Increases Wisdom by 150.

| Set piece 3: Increases power of tamed monsters by 10%.

| Set piece 4: Increases power of tamed monsters by 25%, and durability by 20%.

So that’s why the monsters were a pain in the ass.

Astrid spat as she kicked the dead body. Despite her anger, she swallowed it down, and stripped the ornate uniform off Jabari’s body.

She hesitated for a moment. To wear it, or not to wear it. That was the question fleeting within her mind, but in the end, she decided it wasn’t worth it.

Zephyrions robes granted her a whopping forty-five percent increase to her psychic damage. That was so much better than a few more stats in Wisdom. Even though she could change them with Omni-kinesis, it wasn’t enough to bridge the gap granted by the percentage increase.

So she stored the Monstrous Tyrant set for future use. No doubt one of the high noble families would pay a pretty penny for such an armour. Given the benefits it provided the user, it would probably even become an heirloom set.

Then the entire space around her warped. From luscious green jungles, to a platform suspended in the middle of vast space.

Stars twinkled around Astrid as she gazed at them in both surprise, and awe. Just when was her time to travel through the different galaxies. Was it even possible?

However, her expectant thoughts arrived in an abrupt crash as black figure emerged from the vast expanse. With the wide toothy grin, the Eye-Queen had arrived. And she had brought a crowd along with her.

Clapping, shouts of cheers joined quickly after as the sound reverberated all around Astrid. She wasn’t impressed. Not one bit.

“Take me back already, will you?” Astrid shouted at the vast figure looming high above. “And don’t you dare tell me that was just the second part!”

Bigger than stars and even the surrounding planets, the Eye-Queen broke out into raucous laughter. Holding her stomach, she said, “Well done, my other half, on completing the second trial! I’m so proud of you.”

The Eye-Queen bent over, and pinched the air as if she was pinching Astrids cheeks.

“But you can’t leave yet.”

Her words caused a deep anger to bubble within Astrid. The heat transferred to her head as she shouted. “What do you mean I can’t leave?”

“There is an important step still to take. If you don’t, you will lose out on a vast amount of power. It’s in your best interest.”

“Then quickly tell me what I have to do!”

“I already know what you’re going to say– quickly tell me what to do! Blah blah, so impatient.” The Eye-Queen shook her head, tutting. “Alright, here’s the tea, buttercup. Politely ask the Lord of the castle if he can teach you the so-called ‘Aura’ you have prematurely named it. If he refuses–”

The Eye-Queen leaned forward, hundreds, thousands of eyes all floating around her turned into an endless red sea. The bloody aura took hold of Astrid’s body, rooting her to the spot, unable to move.

And it wasn’t just the bloodthirst that took Astrid by surprise, but the appearance of the ruler of space had transformed as well.

A crown of eyes formed within her forehead, the others that should have been planted within her hair, instead floated close to her skull. Truly forming a crown, or tiara of eyes. It was an eerie sight to behold.

Then came her savage words...

“Enter his mind and take it by force. Rip it from him, steal it, uncover the secrets within his thoughts. Whatever it is, you must take it. It is a necessity, my sweet other half.”

The bloody words caused Astrid to tremble, but she bobbed her head up and down. Astrid could tell how serious it was, but how did this being know what she needed?

Was the Eye-Queen capable of reading the future?

Astrid was stunned, and without further words, she was returned back onto the jungle floor. The heat of the apocalyptic suns still beating down on her shoulders.

Although the Eye-Queen hadn’t explicitly given her another mission, it was evident that was the case.

She had to obtain Lord Darian’s aura. Even if it meant taking his life...
