Albert: "Dad, do you know about rare mastery and very rare mastery? What is the difference between normal mastery and rare mastery?"

Anthony: "There's almost no difference between them is just as the name suggests rare mastery are few and far between so we have almost no data about it. A lot of researchers consider people who have them quite unlucky. Although it was good for the researcher as they can do research on a rare mastery we can't help them as we don't have that much data about said mastery. Oh, how do you know about rare mastery? Do you get one?"

"Well each people have different opinions and just because they are right it doesn't mean you're wrong. There are a lot of roads that lead to Rome, Albert. Personally, I think people that have rare masteries are really lucky; Although they have to learn everything from scratch if they somehow found a way to develop their mastery to fit them it would be really strong."

"Following other's way of fighting would only get you so far. At a certain point, you would have to create your own style or your mastery would be stuck and can't level up. From previous research data, those who are creative and try to develop without restricting themselves to the general way tend to trigger evolution that would help them to become better at want they intend to do. On the contrary, others who try to imitate other people would usually fail; It's either because they don't the necessary traits and mastery to back it up or something else like different stats distribution, equipment, etc."

"You said you have a rare mastery and help Alice pick a very rare one? What are the masteries that

all you guys have?" Anthony asked his sons friends as his inner researcher is tingling

"Well for me I get instrument mastery and puppet mastery and from the puppet mastery, I got Luna here," Albert said patting the sleeping snake on his shoulder.

"Alice got a bundle of very rare mastery which turns out to be 3 different rare masteries while Kana, James, and Anna have normal masteries." Albert continues

Anthony is a but surprised by the fact that both of his children are in possession of rare mastery. Digging trough his brain about what he learns about their mastery he start explaining what he knows about their mastery.

"Oh, a puppet mastery, I think you can develop that one to be one of your main mastery if you want to. It has a very strong potential in the right hand but could also fail terribly if you're unlucky."

"What do you mean by main mastery? Is there a different category for masteries? And you said before something about soul pet? Why does everyone think that Luna is a soul pet? And what is soul pet?"

"Main mastery is just a concept between us researcher; To create their own fighting style evolver usually focus on 1 or 2 mastery as a foundation and later on would pick other mastery that could complement their main one. For example, an archer who uses bow could pick magic mastery or trap mastery to complement their bow mastery."

"Soul pet and puppet mastery are really similar in how they work. They both bound you to 1 specific creature that you can summon to help you in various situations; They have levels and can level up alongside you but that's where the similarity ends."

"Different from soul pet you can adjust your puppet status however you want. Soul pet gets 5 free stats point each time they level up while all pet status except their HP, MP, and Stamina is hidden so you can't really measure it. To compensate for that soul pet possess bloodline and the stronger their bloodline the stronger your pet could be."

"Because of their bloodline, soul pets always evolve following their lineage. For example, if you have a cat as your soul pet no matter how many times you evolve it, it would never change into a T-rex. It could still possible for it to become a lion as they have a similar bloodline."

"According to that, a puppet can evolve into anything as they do not possess any bloodline. Then if I have let say a puppet mouse does it mean it can evolve into a dragon? Isn't this just a straight-up better than a soul pet?"

"Although a lion seems weaker than a T-rex in that world there's even a mouse who can kill a dragon so you don't have to worry about them having a weak bloodline. In that world, the fact that the beast can survive until today is an undeniable proof of their bloodline. You're right that puppet has an advantage as they can evolve into many things but it doesn't mean that pet is considerably weaker."

"One advantage soul pet has over puppet is the starting point. Compare to puppet beast, soul pet has much higher overall stats so it was easier to level them up. On top of that, your puppet can never out level you while soul pet can out level it master. The second advantage is soul pet origin skill soul merge. 99 out of 100 people who possess soul pet mastery would somehow learn soul merge skill."

"With soul merge skill your soul pet would share part of their ability with you; Buffing a certain stats, sharing their traits, or even integrate it into one of your equipment. Soul pet is one of the most common mastery after weapon mastery but at the same time, it was one of the hardest masteries to level.
