Chapter 20 - 20.Rune

Name:Project New World Author:Pleki
"Every single line, curve, and dot in each rune has a meaning. Like an idiom where you combine a couple of words that hold their own meaning to create an expression that has a new meaning. The meaning is unrelated to the individual word but take one word out of it than all would collapse."

"A single dot contains 1 crux the other held another crux but combines they represent the essence. Without the essence, it would only be a doodle. So, if you can perfectly copy the rune and understand the essence behind it you for sure would be able to do it in theory."

"The mastery that you possess isone of the ways that help you do all this. Some of you who have water magic mastery get fragments of information that help you understand water-related rune more easily."

"Then, let say that I possess water magic mastery. Can I copy the entire water magic rune in the library and create my own skill and raises my level?"

Ms. Layla looks at Albert amazed at his intelligence.

'If all the students are half as smart as him, I would skip this lesson and just teach them some advanced stuff.' *sigh*

"Yes, you can but there's a catch."

"What, I just did about 5 minutes ago should already answer this question of yours. To create my personal water rune and I also use someone else rune as a base and change the structure to fit me better making it my own personal water rune. Even if you understand the meaning behind each and its every stroke, it doesn't mean that you can capture the essence of why the creator of the rune does so. "

"All the rune in the world are unique even if two identical twins learn from the same master, the result could greatly differ. For example, if I show you a picture of a river, one guy would say that the water flows beautifully while others might say, the fish swims freely. From the same picture, two guys interpret it differently. Both of them are not wrong as the water on the river flows beautifully and in the same river, you can see fishes are swimming freely.

"Only copying other people rune you wouldn't net you any interpretation of the rune itself, although this way can net you a good amount of experience. But in the long run, you'll just destroy yourself by building tall without a firm structure."

"That's why in that world, master is respected so much by their students; the chance to inherit their rune; receives a private lesson to help them understand the essence of the rune, and how their master interpreted the said rune. This would help you greatly in creating your personal rune."

I need to go back into the library to broaden my knowledge even more. Digging more information is useless If I don't have the basic knowledge to implement it later' Albert said in his mind

Ms. Layla smiles looking at Albert didn't go digging for further information as she already feels that she's going too far. Giving a clueless student more advance information than they could probably handle can make them go into the wrong path.

"How do magic-based weapons such as book, orb, or wand to help me cast a spell?" Kana's give Ms. Layla another question after Albert.

"Well, there is a couple of different ways to use them but we segregated them into 2 main courses; one could use it to help them cast faster and others amplify the spell to be stronger. Each weapon type has its own unique way of helping one achieve just that. And each weapon type also has more advantages in one path compare to others.

"Most wands made of expensive and precious materials excel in amplifying your spell power. The materials of your wand would determine how your wand would perform. You can also cast faster as you can gather all your mana on the tip of your wand and use it to compose your rune; This way you don't need to supply your rune with mana as you finish composing it as you already put the mana on the wand. The second part is a lot harder as you need to put a different amount of mana in a different part of your rune so you really can't let your concentration slip even a bit."

"Orbs are magical items that can help you control your mana. To cast a spell effectively, not only you need to understand the essence of your rune but you also need to control your mana to supply it with the right amount of energy. Too much mana then it will be a waste; too little then, the spell is failed. Too fast, then there's a risk of explosion; too slow and your enemy would kill you. Same as the wand, you can also make your orb from materials that to help you amplify the spell"

"Books can hold many inscriptions that can either amplify your spell or you can even just inscribe your spell rune so you only need to supply mana on your book to cast it. Books are not made of any valuable materials unlike the other two. What makes the books invaluable is the inscription inside that book."

"Then which types are the best weapon for mage class?" cut a bob haired girl sitting at the row in front.

"Everything depends on the user. For someone who has perfect control of their own mana wand would be the best as he/she can cast a stronger spell and also faster. For someone who has a ginormous amount of mana, the orb would be the best as the more mana you have the harder it is to control it."

"For those who are diligence, books can help you cast a spell higher-level spell even when you're low level. Also unlike the other two books are not made of any expensive materials. So it's also the most economist one."
