Volume 4 - CH 8

Name:Profession, Merchant Author:
“Why did you do that?”

The priestess asks, looking in my direction.

Yes, I was the cause of it. The Holy Lance missed its target because I threw a coin filled with magic power to change its trajectory.

“You ask why? Because I have a contract with that monster.”

In exchange for the Lecher Beast’s promise to choose the troublesome procedure that wouldn’t kill the young lady or force her to have intercourse, I would guarantee the life of his offspring – that was the contract. If his life dies in the preliminary stages of procreation, I cannot guarantee the life of the child.

“What the, just like that? This can be flexible. I can convince the Church to break the contract with such a monster. Don’t worry. God’s judgment will not fall on you.”

“I’m sorry, but that’s not the point.”

The priestess tilted her head in doubt at my words.

“The point is that I have made a contract. The priestess may call him a monster, but in business negotiations, the party you make a contract with is always a ‘contractual partner’. As a merchant, I can’t just walk away from a contract when I haven’t even gotten the other party’s consent.”

“You’ve said a lot of things, but what exactly are you planning here?”

“Plan? No, I’m just sticking to the contract. So if Miss Priestess interferes with the Lecher Beast’s reproduction, then it is only natural that I should interfere with your interference.” If yo u ar e ab le to re ad th is me ss age, yo u are re adi ng fr om an un aut horiz ed agg eg ate sit e. “What did you say?”

The priestess, her eyes already scowling, glared at me even more.

It wasn’t very comforting, but I turned and faced in that direction anyway.

“Priestess… you should know our situation best. It’s a Lecher Beast, you know? And in its most dangerous state. Even though you’re the priestess, I’m skeptical if you can defeat it, especially since you can barely hold this monster back. How about this. Instead of the minister’s daughter, how about I convince the monster to lay his hands on someone else?

The contract is to guarantee the life of the Lecher Beast’s offspring, and the part where it has to be the young lady is just for efficiency and security. I would have just nodded my head if it had been me, considering the greater risk we would be taking.

I faced the beast again for his decision.

“Gunununu… then it can’t be helped. It’s frustrating, but I don’t think I have a choice. After all, this woman also poses a great threat to my offspring. Very well, Mister Merchant. I accept the new offer.”

“That’s two down. Miss Priestess, we will change the contract…”

“As if I can accept those terms!”

The priestess didn’t even hesitate to show her disapproval of this concession.

“I am exercising my power here, not because she is the daughter of the Minister of Finance, but because she is a citizen of Andersen. If we allow the beast to escape, it will surely attack the citizens of our nation instead. As a priestess of the Church, I cannot stand by and let the young ladies be attacked by a monster!”

“You say that when you always stand by and watch me do naughty things to the students!”

“Don’t mix humans and monsters! And you used contraception while he was trying to fuck the victim with the intention of injecting his semen and impregnating her! And even though there is the other method, you’re still trying to make a woman procreate a monster!”

But I’m trying to save us all! I’m trying to negotiate because if he goes on a rampage, even if you wound him, everyone here will be killed! This is for the greater good! That’s what I want to shout.

But I noticed that her tone hasn’t changed in the slutty parts. Every note is full of anger. She won’t listen anymore.

“Enough. I don’t need your permission, you trash merchant. This is a subjugation. And I’ll bring judgment upon him myself.”

The priestess said this and gathered five lights in each of the fingers of her left hand. The lights grew in size and took on human form, forming five knights of light.

“Subdue. And Kill.”

The knights of light immediately attacked the beast.

I stood in front of the beast. Each of the knights tried to get me out of the way with their shining swords, but I respondedby blocking them with my custom-made abacus of magical ore.

Each of them is so strong that it is hard to believe they are soldiers embodied by magic, for all their attacks are solid and heavy. I could only defend myself against them. Thi s cha p ter tr ansl atio n is ma de possibl e by st ab bing wi th a sy rin ge tran slat ions. “Priestess.”

“What is it? Even if you keep talking, you will lose.”

“Just listen to me. You know, I think you’re right. You are too corrupted to be a member of the clergy, but you’re still a great Andersen priestess.”

“Then why are you interrupting?”

“That is the difference between us. The people of Andersen are important to the priestess. But I’m neither the priestess nor a citizen of Andersen, which makes me ‘unimportant’ in your terms. So for me, who is undervalued by both, the contract is the most important thing. Or rather, it’s all a foreign merchant is worth here; without it, we’re all rubbish waiting to be dumped somewhere. That’s all there is to it, and I hope you understand that.”

“What was that? Is that how you ask a favor? By guilt-tripping me with your hardships as a merchant?”

“Not at all. I’m just talking to you. But priestess, it’s not good to pay attention to me all the time, is it?”

About the same time I said that, I heard another scream, followed by a voice that grew fainter by the second.

“Iyaaaaaahh! No, I feel sleepy… zzz…”

“Guh, it’s still hard to move, but with this, it’ll be easy.”

The Lecher Beast didn’t waste any time, now that he had the chance. After gently placing the now unconscious woman on the ground, he tore her clothes off with his tentacles.

“All I need is some foreplay to get the fluids out. Here I go!”

The sound of the tangling tentacles echoes through the room. Despite its name, the adult Lecher Beast is like a professional surgeon on the operating table. I wonder what kind of unique taste the person who trained it has.

“Guh… I can’t allow it…”

But then the priestess on the other side muttered, putting more power into her right hand.

The Lecher Beast stopped moving again, but in what seemed like a rookie mistake, the Knights of Light blocking me also stopped moving.

I seized the opportunity and shot the five knights with coins filled with magic power.

I see. I’m not sure how much of the priestess’s magic is needed to chain the Lecher Beast, but it takes about 80% of her attention. And with the remaining 20%, she barely has enough to deal with the other nuisance – me.
