Chapter 529 - Tale of Rain Part 11 (Final)

When he heard that Lyn's brother came here. Rhys decided to directly ask him but who would have thought it would end up with him getting beat up. He rested his back on the wall, with blood dripping down from his forehead.

Prince Andrew stood a few feet away from him but before the man could reach him. A flash of black hair wearing a western-style off-shoulder blue ruffled dress stood in front of him.

"Brother! If you came here just to bully Rhys then go away!" Lyn exclaimed.

"It's merely sparing. Naturally, I have to test the people around you."

Lyn shook her head and bent down. She brought her handkerchief to his forehead to wipe the blood. "Are you okay Rhys? I'm sorry, it must hurt a lot."

It looked like she was on the verge of tears. But she did not cry and kept it in. Rhys immediately understood why. She is holding her emotions back in front of her brother?

Rhys frowned. 'I thought they had a good relationship, but I made a mistake? Could the reason why Lyn acts so cautiously around other people be because of…' His thoughts broke off when Lyn caressed his cheeks.

"I think you're a bit warm…"

Rhys felt the menacing aura from behind Lyn and he deeply sighed. It seems like it won't be easy.

"I'm fine."

"Maybe because of your wound? Are you hurt elsewhere?"

At that comment, Prince Andrew stepped up and yanked Lyn of him. "Lyn, have some tact. You're a Princess, you should not touch the opposite gender so easily."

"First brother you're overreacting, Rhys is hurt because of you."

"Lyn you--" Before Andrew could finish his sentence however they hear approaching footsteps.

It belonged to his brother Isaki and a woman. But it was none of those women who those people introduced. "Lady Gabrielle?"

Gabrielle looked over at him and nodded. She walked over to the First Prince and tugged on his clothing.

"Andrew, that's enough for now."

Andrew deeply sighed but Rhys watched as he put his sword away. "Indeed, he is still a child."

"Thank you."

"Anything for you my dear. Are you finish-" Andrew paused and looked over at his brother. "I see, you're the one."

Rhys could not miss how Prince Andrew looked at his brother. 'It looks like he is evaluating him?'

Rhys clenched his fist. He wanted to lash out but even he understood that it would reflect badly on his brothers if he did that right now. The atmosphere was very tense, and he felt his entire body break out into sweat.

Nobles are all the same. They judge people based on their looks and skills. The noble society is not a nice place like the commoners think. Not only are they not free but they

His thoughts broke off when he felt Lyn hug his arm tightly.

Oh...

'What is she doing acting all adorable for?'

All the anger he felt just now vanished. His gaze turned to the sight in front of him.

How will this play out?

"Rhys, Little Lyn. Would you two leave for a moment?" Isaki suddenly asked.

Rhys deeply sighed at his request. "I got it, Lyn come with me."

"Okay!" The girl seemed awfully happy and he recalled something.

"Let's take a stroll."

...

An hour and a half later, they headed back inside since Lyn looked sick. Sure enough, after he called the doctor it seemed like the girl had another fever. His gaze fell on the girl on the bed whose face was flushed due to the fever. 'Why does she keep getting sick?' Is it the atmosphere in the Rain Kingdom?

He heard that there are individuals who have a hard time adjusting to another country. But quite some time has passed since she came here so by now this should be normal.

So why is she in this condition now?

Rhys removed the towel on her forehead and placed it in the mini basin of water on the bedside table. Once he was sure it was soaked he placed it on the girl's forehead again.

Right as he did that Lyn opened her eyes and murmured weakly.

"Rhys?"

"Hey, don't get up."

"The world is spinning."

"Close your eyes and get some more sleep."

"But Rhys I would like to chat."

Rhys kissed her forehead softly and she laughed. "I'm sick but not hurt. You're the one who got hurt."

He almost forgot about his wounds until she mentioned it. "I will convince your brother so relax."

"Okay.." Lyn trailed off. "You know he isn't a completely bad person. Sure there are times where I am wary of his actions, and he doesn't have the best personality. But at the end of the day he is still my brother. He is still one of the people I respect the most."

Rhys paused when he heard those words. He had mixed feelings about what she just said to him. Though he did not know Prince Andrew personally, he heard the rumors. No, he personally knew those who met that man. A dangerous individual. Rhys wondered if Lyn knew this about her brother.

"I don't know how it is in the Mist Kingdom. But a tyrant like that will get scorned over here." No matter how capable he is, if Prince Andrew lived here, people would dislike him.

"It's not like everybody likes him back home either. There are many who dislike him. But even those people hold back."

"How come?"

"Because they strongly believe that he will become the next King. For them, that is the most important thing." Lyn spoke like it was obvious but Rhys did not understand.

The desire to be a ruler, let alone the attitude of one. Rhys had a bad impression of Prince Andrew because of what he heard from his companions. Lyn should have a bad impression too because of the neglect from her family and yet he watched as her eyes sparkled.

This is the first time he saw her this way. Rhys grabbed hold of her hand and she laughed softly. "What is it?"

"Let me read you a story."

He does not know how much time they have left together but for now he will enjoy the peace with her.
