Chapter 455 - Night Blooming Flowers Part 4

*UNEDITED*

Lyn felt Rhys brush his hands across her cheeks. But before he could do anything they heard a huge commotion outside. Rhys frowned and lightly pulled her away.

He walked over to the window. Lyn watched his expression and saw his gaze darken. "Kazuya you idiot, quit picking fights with small fries."

Kazuya?

She hears familiar laughter.

"We're not fighting, just training. Why don't you join us?"

"I'll pass, I'm on a date."

'H--hey idiot!!' Lyn wanted to tell him but she was afraid Kazuya would hear her voice.

Kazuya suddenly mumbled. "Are you with Lyn?"

He noticed?

"I'm not."

"Oh. If you see her though, make sure your checking on her properly. I noticed her lights on her room a lot the past few nights. She probably can't sleep well."

At that comment Lyn scolded him in her head. 'Aaahh, stupid Kazuya.' Now Rhys knows the truth. Her staying with him? Does he have any idea how difficult that is for her? So even though it took a long time to reach her room with her crutches. Lyn still went back.

"I already know. Well, have fun. Don't cause too much trouble."

At that comment Rhys closed the window and drew the curtains. Lyn froze, 'here it comes.' It felt like eternity but it was only a few minutes. To her surprise Rhys suddenly picked her up. "Time for you to sleep."

Ah? Lyn blinked surprised. Is that all? She thought since it was him, he would do something. Then again, if he noticed. He must understand. Her gaze softened and she wrapped her arms around his neck. "Are you worried about me?"

"I'm worried." Rhys admitted.

"Thank you Rhys," she mumbled softly. "But this is something I can't talk to you about. I hope you understand. You see, I think I resolved myself even before Kazuya and you came here. I want to protect everybody, I want to do something about the corruption of the Kingdom."

"Lyn, you don't have to..."

Lyn shook her head. "I want to be the Queen." she trailed off and laughed. "I know this sounds strange, and you probably don't want to hear this. But for the longest time I respected my mother. I wanted to be exactly like her. Even though people resented her, she never blamed them. She never let her emotions get to her. When her first husband, the man she loved and respected dearly passed away. I saw it, the tears she held back this entire time. She tried to remain strong but when it came to him, she was just like everyone else."

"What are you trying to say?"

She sensed his discomfort and lightly kissed his lips. "I want to thank you again for not hurting mother."

"Don't thank me, I only did this because I wanted to make a good impression. Isn't it working?"

"Rhys."

"I'm not a good guy Lyn. I won't hide that from you. The things I've done, you can't even imagine it."

Before Lyn could say anything, he placed her down on the bed. Rhys loosened his clothes, and soon his haori slipped off . He tugged on her ribbon, and eventually it came loose.

Lyn didn't know what he was doing. No, she was pretending not to know. It was obvious to her what was going on. She may not know anything about romance but she knew what this was. It seems like he doesn't intend to just kiss her.

No matter how bold she is these days. This is a situation where Lyn can't keep calm. Indeed she found her body tensing up as Rhys placed kisses down her chest.

"It seems like I can make this work now."

Make what work? Lyn wanted to ask him but her entire body refused to listen to her. She was boiling hot. This sudden heat in her body. 'What is this feeling?' Lyn doesn't understand. Perhaps she ought to have paid attention to those lessons about men and females.

"Sorry," Rhys suddenly apologized. "I might be a bit rough. You don't mind right? You've already had your first time."

'Ah.' Lyn immediately understood when she heard those words. So that's what he wants to do. Her first time? If she told Rhys the truth, that nothing ever happened with Kazuya and her. What would his reaction be? Indeed, they got close to doing that. However Kazuya stopped. He told her that he would wait.

It seems she can't do this, before he could take that single step. Lyn shoved him away from her.

"Ouch...."

Lyn looked over him with a worried expression on her face. "I'm sorry, b--but like I think you should stop there."

"Hah?" Rhys looked very annoyed.

"I mean really, don't do anything like this!" Lyn exclaimed. She still couldn't get over the shock of a few minutes ago. Is he serious? Didn't he promise her that he wouldn't do anything? Then again, is she that clueless? The truth is they both know she isn't, otherwise he wouldn't get this far.

Her thoughts broke off when he raised her legs. She watched him examine it and paused. "I'm okay."

"I have to check. I guess this isn't the time for intense activity..."

"I'm very sorry," Lyn apologized. "Maybe we should.."

Rhys shook his head. "Don't blame yourself. Besides I'm the one making it hard for you. Tricking Princess Lethia aside. Aren't you doing this for my sake too?"

Lyn didn't answer that. For his sake? She never thought about it that way before. But now that he mentioned it, Lyn can't disagree. She extended her hand out and Rhys grabbed hold of it. He kissed her fingertips slowly.

"I wonder what the two of us are doing Lyn..."

"I don't know either. But, I cannot return to Kazuya. The two of us need time and space to think."

She was very happy when he gave her that gift. She was very happy when he told her that he was her destined guy. Kazuya brought her so much happiness, but at the same time he brought her so much pain. It's strange.

Rhys brought his hands to her face, "In this time you will at least consider me won't you?"

"Yes."

"Isn't it hard for you to do that?"

"I don't know about hard." Lyn picked up one of the gr.a.p.es from the bowl on the side and fed Rhys. "But I believe in order to make a change. I have to experience new things."

"Hmmm, is this new to you? Flirting with a guy?"

Lyn sighed. "Would you call this flirting? I'm not sure."

"You're very fun to tease. It's a shame though, no matter how composed you are. It's easy for me to make you blush."

"That aside, didn't you tell me you wouldn't do anything dangerous?" Lyn brushed her fingers across his cheeks. "What is this scar?"

"It was a small skirmish Lyn."

'She's heard that line from Kazuya so many times.' "I don't understand why men from the Sound Kingdom act so carelessly."

"Aren't you the same? Miss Second Princess."

Lyn rolled her eyes and she continued tracing the wound. "Can I treat this for you?"

"Hm, using what?"

A small light appeared in the edge of her palm but Rhys grabbed hold of it. "Rhys?"

"You know Lyn, I appreciate the thought. But isn't this ability of yours supposed to be a secret?"

"It is a secret. But I would like to think there are no more secrets between us."

Rhys pulled a blanket around them, "Go to sleep."
