Chapter 481 - Just come home

Lyn did not understand why she even came here. If she did not learn the news from that servant who was nearby and heard the exchange between Rhys and Kazuya, she would be with Kazuya right now and not Rhys. Her and Kazuya are no longer on awkward terms, so there should be nothing wrong with her going with him. Yet when she thought of how Rhys would come back to an empty place, her heart clenched up in pain and before she knew it she already left the castle. It was not difficult for her to find a safe path to come to this place. But it was hard for her to dismiss the pained cries she heard from the wall that led into town. It took all her will power to turn away and head to the district.  All the villagers are suffering. The faces of the people she met in town came to mind and it angered her even more. Why do those people have to suffer? It is not fair on them at all. "Why do you have something like that?" Lyn sighed. "It is supposed to be for protection apparently. This little guy changes into something large whenever I'm in danger. Even though I said I'll be fine, ever since what happened then HQ has been keeping their eye on me even more". To the point they even gave her something strange like this. Then again she supposed she didn't mind it, it was quite nice having a pet. If one could call a baby fox a pet then yeah. For them to be given such a strange idea though. It really can only be the work of one person. Master, you're an idiot aren't you? Just say it directly. You don't have to do things in such a roundabout way. Before she could his response though they were interrupted by a huge wailing sound. "Wahhh." Huh? The two of them turned and saw a young boy that looked about five years old wailing loudly. But a troubled look appeared on her face. "Why is he screeching like that?" Rhys sighed and shook his head. "He's not, he's crying. He might be lost. It's okay come here." The small kid made its way over but suddenly hugged her, causing her to blink. Huh? "W--hat the--" she stammered. "Lyn, do you know him?" "I don't know any toddling brats." She's actually bad with kids, therefore she as much as possible makes sure she stays far away from them.  "But doesn't it sound like he's calling you Mama?" The small fox whispered. She sends the kitsune a harsh glare. Gee how on earth did she end up in this situation when Rhys is the one who called the kid over? But her gaze lands on the kid. He really is only young. He can barely talk too. Ah, she guessed small kids like this weren't too bad. "Mah! Pah!'the kid exclaimed. Getting lost in a place like this, is probably scary. Lyn understood how the child must have felt. When she first came here, so many people looked at her. So many guys jeered at her and it made her feel very uncomfortable.  "Rhys>" He turned to her. "Yes?" "Sorry. But let's take a  break from looking at the flowers. I want to help him find his parents. "That's right. It must be scary, getting lost and being surrounded by so many unfamiliar faces. " I want to bring his family back together." Rhys eyes widened but they softened. "Yes I do too." Eh? Somehow, his expression just now seemed kind of nice. It's not like his usual idol smile too. Huh, so even he can make these kinds of expressions. ....  "We have a lost child. Is anyone looking for a lost child?"Ryou called out rather loudly.  Lyn had to admit that she was very surprised by this. Eh, so that's the leadership voice that Nakura-sensei was telling her about. Indeed it's quite loud. But he really isn't hesitating to call out huh. One would think he would worry more getting caught in that get up. However it seems like he really does trust his disguise skills. Indeed, nobody should be able to tell that this was Rhys. No one would ever think that this was the famous player. The famous player with a child and a girl who clearly looks out of place here. "There are so many people here." Her thoughts broke off when Rhys tightened his hold on her hand. "Rhys?" "I know we have to take the child back to its family and all. But remember." He brushed his lips dangerously across her ear. "Remember that this is still a date." Lyn blinked when she heard those words. So he was actually serious about that? Sometimes it is hard to tell what he is thinking. But she knew he meant well. A date huh? They even held hands. Anybody would think they were a normal couple. But Lyn knew it was dangerous to think this way. Rhys is the enemy, he is somebody from another Kingdom. She was raised to believe that people from other KIngdoms only have bad intentions. Rhys and Kazuya were sent here to win her over so she could reveal the Kingdom secrets. It seemed like the Sound Kingdom members realized that she wasnt a naive Princess. That was fine for her, it did not matter that they knew.  Her only issue was the two people they sent to complete the mission. Well, it was Kazuyas mission and yet she recalled something Zepher told her about Rhys. A man who would do anything for the sake of his Kingdom huh?  She wrapped her arms around his neck and mumbled softly in his ear. "You will come back with me to the castle after this?" She did not answer his question, but she gave him an answer filled with hope. Rhys hummed against her hair. "I shall, but what is my status now?" "What could it be?" Lyn mumbled. She decided to play along with his little game, she still kept an eye on the kid who was looking at the various stands. Lyn knew that this was bad, she ought to pry away and focus on the child. But Rhys always made it difficult for her. He played with her fingers and a content sigh passed her lips. "Rhys." "Yes Princess?" "Did you sleep with your friend again?" "Mm." I want to tell him to stop but it does not feel right. It seems like Rhys is only doing this so she would stop him. But how could she possibly do that? "If it makes you uncomfortable Lyn, say it." "No." Lyn mumbled. She cant say something like that to him. "Just come home." This is all she can tell him for now. If it is these words, she knew Rhys would understand. Indeed, while he wore a complicated look on his face, he nodded. Rhys placed his lips on the temple of her forehead. "Alright, I will." He paused. "Home huh?"
