Chapter 180 - The First Knight of the Snow Kingdom

"I don't think you should stay here any longer,"

"But what about," Lyn said. She had resolved herself to come here. Going all the way back now really seemed like a waste, in her opinion.

"Listen, woman do you really still want to stay here? Even if I give them a warning, they'll only listen this time. The next time I leave you alone, they'll get to you for sure, and they'll torture you even more than before. There's no guarantee that I'll always be with you as," Rhys mumbled, Lyn could tell how angry and frustrated he was. "I didn't think that they'd do anything like this. Sure I figured they'd tried to bite you and that's a normal reaction from us demon beings. But I didn't think that they'd do anything more than that."

Natural huh....then does that mean that all this time that person was suppressing such urges? " Would the same go for the dark princess?" Lyn asked.

Rhys nodded, "The urges from them are actually worse. Especially in the presence of a regular existence."

"So, you know about us?" Leo interjected.

"I'm aware the Knights of order here, use dark magic, correct."

Leo frowned, "How did you find out?"

"Let's just say; you guys aren't exactly as subtle as you think.

'Don't provoke him,' she thought. But it was far too late. Lyn felt the air turn menacing and she reached over and hugged Rhys's arm. Like she thought, Rhys looked at her, surprised. His gaze turned soft, "Let's get going. Lyn is tired; I want her to rest soon."

"You know, it's gross how sweet you two act around each other. I don't know about the other guy, but I wouldn't be surprised if you two were a couple."

"Hmmm, hear that? We make a good couple."

Lyn rolled her eyes, "Yes, yes. Let's get going," she felt tired. While meeting the King is important, Lyn wanted to be well-rested before meeting him. It seems like the King is impatient to meet with her, though. Allen being there is more than enough proof.

...

It didn't take them long to reach the throne room, unlike the throne room in the Mist Kingdom. This one was quite unusual, the

Lyn immediately recognized Allen.

A deep sigh that she had been holding back escaped her lips. Just seeing that he was okay made her feel so relieved. Lyn took a few steps closer, and no sooner had she got closer did she find herself in Allen's arms.

"Allen?"

"You're here; nothing went wrong?" Allen asked. Lyn instinctively placed her hand on her neck, and Allen immediately noticed. He removed her hand and frowned, "It seems like you'll have to add this to your list of apologies, Mr first knight."

"It was my own kind who acted on their own violation; I shall punish him severely."

Leo, who just entered the room with Rhys, immediately fell to the ground. Since she was in Allen's arms, Lyn couldn't see who he was talking to. The first Knight? So, the King should be here nearby, right? More importantly, right now, Lyn felt a menacing presence. The First Knight was clearly angry. Is it because of her?

No, she could sense it his anger directed at the second Knight. "What is the meaning of this?"

Lyn was surprised to see Leo tense up, " W-- weren't you supposed to be back in a week?"

"That was the plan. But Shu was saying ' something's changed. The presence of that little girl is gone now. It seems different, won't be surprised if they did something already," the man said.

Lyn could not see his appearance, but she could feel his piercing stare. His gaze seemed to harden more,

"You did do it, right?"

"It was me."

The man walked over to Leo, and Lyn caught a brief glimpse of him. 'Ah,' Lyn thought when she saw him. She's seen this person before. It was once a few years back; he was talking to her eldest brother and Gabrielle. So this person is somebody from the Snow Kingdom? Back then though his eyes weren't so clouded. But now, he's faking a smile, and his gaze is dark. There is a menacing and threatening aura around him.

A large crisp sound filled the room; the man had slapped Leo across the cheek. The c.o.c.ky and arrogant Leo from before was nowhere to be found, instead there stood a completely different man. His face had turned pale, and his entire body looked like it was frozen stiff.

Earlier Leo looked like he would run away, but right now he was frozen. Lyn immediately understood and broke free of Allen's embrace, the man raised his hand again, but this time around he did not hit Leo, but the hit landed on her.

With a dangerous look in her eyes, Lyn said, "Is this how the Snow Kingdom people treat their guests? Do not put such a display on for us to see, or so manners not matter here?"

A deep sigh passed the mans lips, "Princess Lyn, with all due respect even your fiance said that this man deserves to be punished. I am simply doing as you asked."

"Punishment aside, I do not think using a forbidden mind control magic to bend the other person's will is necessary?" Lyn countered his words. It was brief, but she noticed that there was something odd in his eyes. "Knight Luke," Lyn spoke the name she overheard her brother mention before.

Luke raised his eyebrow, surprised, "Oh? So you know of me, I see you really are his sister."

"The others are not aware that you are here, I shall take my leave," Leo suddenly spoke up.

"I see, very well then. Go inside and tell them that I'm back. Leo, don't even think of running away. Shu is outside on guard duty," the man said, Lyn, watched as Leo almost stumble as he rushed off. A relieved sigh escaped her lips, 'Finally gone.' Even though Rhys was with her, on the way here, Lyn noticed how oddly the man was acting around her. Still, Lyn recalled how badly he was shaking earlier. He probably isn't an evil person.

"Indeed your amusing one Princess Lyn, even after what he put you through, you still defend him."

Allen quickly interjected, "My wife, she is not the kind of person to hold grudges. Her heart is noble and pure."

"It is exactly like you told me, but I wonder how long she can last here in this palace of hell with such a brazen attitude?"

"You can rest assured, this is my wife we are talking about. She will be just fine."

"Then, I demand for you and your people to leave in three days. Leave your wife here alone."

At that comment, Lyn's eyes widened, huh? What are these people planning?
