Chapter 144 - Forbidden

Lyn protested and struggled. But against him, she was no match. At least for now anyway. If Lyn learns how to use her magic properly and builds up her stamina more, then he won't get a chance to get close to her anymore. That's why lately Rhys is in a rush. Before she learns to control it, he has to do something. With this particular mindset, Rhys has increased his level of affection towards her.

Now they are finally at this stage. Rhys gaze fell on the girl below him; she looks so vulnerable right now. 'My prey,' he thought as he licked his lips. Why does somebody this stunningly beautiful exist in this world? Now he understood why they kept her locked away, her powers aside and that mark. If people laid eyes on this beauty, then there would be conflict. It's not an exaggeration to say that those who lay their eyes on her will be 'bewitched.'

"Lyn," he murmured against her lips, "I'll make sure you know that you belong to me, and me alone."

Then he starts kissing her, easily prying her mouth open, kissing and touching the exposed parts of her body. Rhys wanted nothing more than to tear away her clothing completely and see her fully n.a.k.e.d. But, it felt like if he were to move his lips away from hers now. Lyn would try to leave.

....

After a few minutes, Lyn collapsed into his chest, and he gently caressed her back.

Wow..that was just amazing. Rhys turned to the girl in his arms who was panting heavily. Guess this is enough for her if he scares her too much. She really will end up hating him.

"Lyn, we should--," Lyn raised her hand and hit him.

Rhys isn't surprised. "I won't apologize," why does he have to apologize when he did nothing wrong? He likes her.

"I hate you," the girl's words were filled with such bitterness that it pained him. But Rhys quickly shook his head.

"That will change," he trailed off and pulled the blanket on her, "Go to sleep."

"I feel violated."

"Calm down; I did nothing. I just kissed you a little."

Rhys doesn't understand why she is acting this way. But, when he saw her trembling Rhys realized he did something wrong.

"Sorry, I didn't mean to scare you. Quit crying, please."

Damn, he went overboard. He didn't think she would start crying. He only kissed and touched her a little, but for somebody like her. Something like that is most likely too much. 'Damn, made a mistake.' But you can't blame him for this even if she is mad at her fiance. Why did she agree to share a tent with him? So naive, she can only blame her naivety for this.

'Lyn likes scenery.'

"Lyn, let's go for a walk."

....

Rhys gaze fell on the girl who was walking ahead of him; a deep sigh passed his lips. Okay, so now what? Will taking her for a walk improve her mood? Damn, why is this so difficult? He likes her, so why can't he talk to her properly? Why does he end up doing these stupid things that lead to her being afraid of him? What is he going to do? Even though he's the backup plan, right now he's acting even worse than Kazuya.

Rather Kazuya is more sensible recently, he doesn't stay by Lyn's side as much anymore. Rhys knew that he was running around and actually doing work. With Kazuya preoccupied and actually doing work. It was his chance to get to Lyn. Rhys could easily tell the reporters that Kazuya abandoned his job, and thus he had to step in. Rhys doesn't understand why Kazuya is acting this way now. But, it's a good opportunity for him.

Lyn was walking several steps ahead and despite the darkness of the night. Rhys could clearly see her dainty figure in front of him and hear her light footsteps.

All of a sudden, she came to a halt and turned to him with a questioning look in her eyes. "Why did you do that?"

"Too much?"

Lyn nodded, "Yes, as you know, Rhys I'm still underage.

Age…

Right, she's younger. It's easy to forget that.

"Don't tell me you seriously forgot my age?"

Rhys scratched his face and sighed, "I can't help it, your beautiful."

Lyn, however, shook her head, "You're ridiculous, you know that? How could you forget the age of the girl you claim to love?"

… Well, she makes a valid point there. Rhys let's out a deep sigh, "I know we spoke about this before, and I completely broke my promise. But you don't make it any easier for me."

Her getting all chummy with her fiance aside. There's also how she blatantly flaunts her love with Kazuya in front of him. No, what bothered him was when she ignored him. Maybe she doesn't intend for it to be deliberate. But, there are times when Lyn doesn't speak with him at all. Whenever that happens, Rhys doesn't know what to do.

His thoughts broke off when Lyn's hand brushed across his cheek. Rhys blinked, when did she …?

"You know, I don't hate you."

"Yeah?"

Lyn nodded, "I don't, your kind to me and you treat me well. You maybe a pervert, but I think that's because you love me and don't know how to convey your feelings very well. Correct?"

Rhys looked at her with wide eyes. For somebody who supposedly knew nothing about love. She spots on guessed his feelings. Her hands feel nice; he wondered how it would feel if she touched him elsewhere. How nice would it be if her fingers ran through his back, and pierced him while he held her in his arms?

Lyn must have noticed his odd looks, since she stammered, "W--what are you thinking?"

Rhys murmured, "Something lewd."

"Idiot!"

Doesn't she like honest people? Why is she still getting angry at him? He really doesn't know what to do with her. Rhys pulled her into his arms, "So, can I ask you a few things?" This is romantic right? Won't she get angry over a hug? She won't, right?

"What is it, Rhys..."

"Are you nervous?"

"If you don't quit acting like a shameless moron, I'll use my knife, and this is a good position to cause a serious injury," Lyn said, her voice threatening.

His sweat fell when he heard the girl's words. Why is she so scary for? Damn, "You know I've never met a woman like you before," Rhys trailed off.

"Is that a compliment?" she seemed pleased, and Rhys hated to break it to her.

"It's more like, you're the scariest woman I've ever met before."

At that comment, Lyn sent him a harsh glare, but he simply wrapped his arms tighter around her. Rhys didn't understand what this was, his emotions felt like they were a mess. Earlier when they were inside the tent, he didn't feel like this at all. Earlier, it felt like he was in control.

"Rhys, you feel so warm."

Wh--what? What is she saying all of a sudden? Rhys felt the girl wrap her arms around him, "So warm, and it's comfortable.."

Thump, thump. Rhys felt his heartbeat grow rapid as the girl leaned into him. What on earth is she doing? Who was the one who trembled when he kissed her earlier? Sure they are still hugging, but he purposely ensured that she was a slight distance from him. But now that her body is practically pressed against his. Rhys has a hard time keeping calm.
