Chapter 67 - Meeting the Young Prodigy (4)

Tai Xingfu didn't know whether to laugh or cry. Did he hear that right?! His Master was asking him to guide someone?! Not just that, It was someone who hasn't even tackled an ounce of Martial Arts before! Oh, Oh! And not only this! It was a young girl! That's right, A girl who just recently taken their Hairpin Ceremony!

If one wants to learn Martial Arts, they should have started at a very young age! Like him, who started when he was only 6 years old. Teaching someone who was already this old, who knows how much that young girl could learn?! And, Why does it have to be him?! This made his brows furrowed while both of his fists were clamped shut.

Elder He sighed, he could roughly guess his direct disciple's thought by the look of his face. Tai Xingfu had a dark expression. He wasn't happy that he was tasked to basically babysit. It was pretty much the case, well, at least for him it was.

"I know that you have been extremely busy, especially that the tournament would be next year. Unfortunately, I could only ask you to do this." Elder He patted his disciple's shoulder.

"But Master? Why does it have to be me? Why can't Mo Heng do it? Ain't he pretty laid back right now?" Mo Heng was his Junior Brother. Tai Xingfu was the eldest disciple while Mo Heng was the second disciple.

Elder He sighed again. "Mo Heng can't. The little girl specifically mentioned you. I'm afraid you can't run away from this."

Hearing his Master's explanation, it made him even more confused. "Me?! Why?" Is it one of those unruly rich and noblewomen again? Why can't they just leave him be?!

Elder He sat back down to his chair and handed him a token. "You're only 18 this year. It might be too early for you to take in a disciple but there's no harm to it. Even I can't refuse such a task. Give this token to her, it will allow her to move freely in the Academy. Remember, You have to take good care of her. I'm afraid we can't afford to offend him."

Tai Xingfu's brows crossed. "Master, what do you mean? Even the Emperors of the surrounding kingdoms have to curry favor with us. Just what is her background that we have to accommodate such a person?!"

"Silence! You shall keep this to your self. I don't precisely know her background and I wouldn't dare try to pry so either. The Academy Master especially asked this favor and sternly warn me not to make trouble. I advise you to do as well. Who knows, maybe you'll gain an advantage by befriending the little girl." Elder He rubbed his beard.

Learning that it was useless to argue, Tai Xingfu resigned to his fate. It was only guiding anyways. Still, he wasn't really a bad person that would make it difficult for someone. Whether she learns or not, it would all still depend on her. If she slacks one bit, then he will show her that he wasn't there to babysit her!

Finally having a plan in his mind, Tai Xingfu cupped his fist to his Master. "It shall be done, Master."

"En, Go now. She will arrive tomorrow. Go and prepare her lounging." Elder He waved his hands to his disciple and went back to focus on the tasks in his table.

Tai Xingfu bows again before he left the study room. It was already night and he had no energy to go play. He could only arrange the things that his Master had told him to accomplish. He sighed as he walked slowly to his courtyard. Since he will be taking her as a disciple, she needed to live closer to his.

"It's going to be a long year." Tai Xingfu muttered in the air. His head was already aching by the thought of it.

-----

The next day, someone was excited to go to the Academy. In another place, someone's face was painted black by the news he had received from his men.

Either way, it had nothing to do with Yu Zhefan. He was a clueless bunny who had no way of knowing how are things progressing. At the moment, he was walking aimlessly to gather news of his sister. Who, in fact, haven't stepped in that city.
