Chapter 47 - A Large Fish escaped

While Ronglou just escaped, Another party arrived in Guang Town. The seemingly small town had received countless prominent powers within a week.

"Master, she is no longer here. Reports say that she had left at noon." A servant conveyed the news that he received.

"En." A man dressed in red robes was sitting in front of the servant. He was the servant's Master. He had a big hat that covered his face.

"Master, what do we do? I have heard that she was heading east. If she continues, she would arrived within a month at the east border."

The man in red robes chuckled. "Tell our men to continue following her trail but don't let her catch you. This Lord wants to see what she is up to." He then got up and went into the inner room.

"Yes, Master." The Servant bowed and left.

Inside the inner room, the man in red robes smiled cunningly. "Poor Xu Fengxin, his bride runaway. Don't worry, I'll get her safe and let her marry this Lord instead."

The aura in the air instantly turned cold. A sharp cunning gaze glinted in his eyes.

-----

Ronglou felt a shiver in her spine. Dammit, even after traveling this far. She could still feel that someone was following her. "Huangyu, tell the coachman to drive faster. When we reach Peng City, let him change the horses. We'll have a quick rest there and restock our food. We should keep doing these until we reach the Eastern Border."

Huangyu nodded and informed the coachman. It had only been half a day since they left, it was almost dark. Peng City is still 2 Days away. Seeing her Mistress' serious face, she could feel that something is wrong.

-----

Back in Guang Town, when the sun had set.

Yu Zhefan arrived. Like Zu Ren, he instantly inquired about all sorts of news that happened inside the small town. It felt like finding a needle in a haystack. As soon as he heard that a woman in red robe drowned, he panicked. His older brother's had told him that their little lulu was now fond of wearing red robes.

Although this change was a surprise to him, he didn't have the time to ask why. Even if he did, he doubts that his older brothers knew the reason why.

While Yu Zhefan was busy looking for news about what happened to that woman who drowned, Xu Fengxin went to an inn along with Zu Bai. It was the inn where Zu Ren was staying.

As soon as they have arranged a room for their Master, Zu Ren and Zu Bai went inside along with Xu Fengxin.

Xu Fengxin sats down on a chair inside the outer room. Zu Bai poured his Master some tea. "Speak!"

Zu Ren kneeled on one knee and reported all the news he had gathered. Xu Fengxin didn't have any reaction until the very end. As soon as he heard a woman in red robes drowned, he slaps his fist on the table.

"What happened to that woman?!" he yelled.

"Master, Her family had taken her back and left Guang Town. I heard that the Bai Family's third young master Bai Fangzu was the person who had saved her." Zu Ren was puzzled why his Master inquired about this.

Xu Fengxin chuckled. Alas, she escaped his grasp. "When did this happened?"

"Yesterday." Zu Ren replied.

"Did you gathered when they left? and who took her?" Xu Fengxin tapped his fingers on the table.

"No matter this servant does, no one seems to know which family she came from. Not even her name." Zu Ren looked at his Master. "Is it the Eldest Miss?" His eyes widened at the thought.

"En. The large fish just escaped your net and you weren't even aware." Xu Fengxin picked up his tea and took a sip.

Zu Bai was astonished, while Zu Ren panicked inside his heart. The more he thought, the more he felt guilty. Just then, he remembered seeing a woman in a red robe when he checked in today. He felt that she was familiar but she was so short, so it didn't fit the description of the Eldest Miss Yu.

He immediately kowtowed and said. "Master, please punished this servant. I was muddle-headed."

"What's the used of that now? Go and search for my brother-in-law. See if he can find where his lovely sister went." Xu Fengxin closed his eyes.

Zu Ren bowed again and left in a hurry, he felt he was pardoned for his mistake. Zu Bai kept his silence and poured more tea to his Master. Xu Fengxin closed his eyes temporarily. He couldn't help but admired that woman. He was so close and yet she manages to escape just in time. Even if he tried to track her down himself, he no longer recognized her scent. It was like she had changed her scent and was a newly entire person.
