Chapter 16 - Missing Jewelries

The Xu Kingdom's Imperial City is having a peaceful week, like as always.

Yet the Yu Residence had been extremely agitated this days, Especially the Prime Minister Yu. It has been a week already and still no sighting regarding his daughter.

Despite the best efforts of the Emperor, The Fox Mercenary was a dead end. They accepted countless missions without batting an eye. No matter if it was killing or kidnapping, as long as one had the right amount of money.

This time, the one who commissioned them was a mysterious and wealthy old man. The old man gave them 100 golds, just to bring the Eldest Miss and her loyal servant out of the Imperial City.

They met about a hundreds Li away from the south gate of the Imperial City. They have investigated the area thoroughly, they found some distinct clues that led them to the Ding City. It was a small city in the south. The clues was left behind by the smell of Ronglou robes and pieces of her clothes.

They also found some tracks of resistance and blood. They were able to deduced that Ronglou tried to escape but had gotten hurt in the process. They even tested the blood with the Prime Minister, by performing a blood unification. To determine if they are related. Two drops bloods joined together, meaning that it was. It really was Ronglou.

They also found a dead woman near the forest. It has the exact same clothes and body shape of Li Huangyu. Unfortunately, the face was unrecognizable. Due to the animals who had already taken a piece of her.

They were all still waiting to see news if Ronglou's kidnappers took her to Ding City. It take approximately 4 days to get here.

Right now, they just heard all of this news, it made Madame Yu Menglou fainted. She had been crying nonstop ever since Ronglou had been kidnapped. She had felt that bad premonition that morning, not knowing that it was going to be her Eldest Daughter. She regretted letting her go that day, she could barely eat now and that's why she instantly fainted. Having no strength.

The Prime Minister sighed, as she looked at his sleeping wife. After kissing her forehead, he left and went back to the main hall. The Crown Prince was the one who delivered the news and was still waiting for him.

Apparently, he helped during the tracking. He only came back because he wanted to deliver this news personally. He knew how hurt Madame Yu must've been. Madame Yu had been very kind to him, since his mother already had passed away. The current Empress right now was Empress Ling. She was one of his father's concubines. Fengxin's mother was the late Empress, who died because of a incurable sickness.

"I'm sorry to keep you waiting your highness." The Prime Minister sighed, as he entered the hall.

"No problem Prime Minister. If you don't mind, can I question the Eldest Miss' servants?" Fengxin looked at the incoming Prime Minister.

"You may, but why? Do you think they knew something?" Prime Minister Yu's brows furrowed.

"No, but it won't hurt to try. May I?"

"En. Steward Zu, call in the servants from my Eldest Daughter's courtyard." Prime Minister Yu ordered. Steward Zu nodded and left.

Not long after, three female servants came in.

"We greet the crown prince and Master Yu." They all bowed down as they delivered their greetings.

"En. I wanted to ask if you found anything strange before the Eldest Miss had been taken away?" Fengxin's instantly inquired.

The three servants looked at each other. Then one of them spoke. "Your highness, this servant did noticed something. The days before the Young Miss had been taken away, we heard crying noises coming from her room.

We didn't dare report it since we felt that it was irrelevant. The Eldest Miss had been crying constantly, sad and hardly ate. At that time, we only thought that maybe the Miss had been stressed out since the Wedding was coming and she still haven't finished her Wedding dress." As she finished talking, the other two nodded vigorously.

"Anything else?" Even though the Crown Prince was puzzled, it wasn't the time to ponder about it.

"Yes. She also started wearing red robes, like her wedding dress. And just now, after cleaning all day. We also noticed that some of the Eldest Miss' jewelry is missing." Said the other servant.

"What did you say? Did someone stole from the Daughter's belongings, just because she isn't here anymore!? Does everyone don't have me in their eyes anymore?! Im not dead yet!" The Prime Minister clenched his fist.

"Steward Zu! Investigate this matter! See to it that we catch that thief! Check the market also and see if it's been sold!"

"Yes master." Steward Zu bowed and then signal the three to leave with him.

Steward Zu knew that it shouldn't be the three servants since they were all loyal to the Eldest Miss. It's really getting absurd. Kidnapping then thieves? The Yu Residence is getting more chaotic.

Unfortunately, the two Young Masters still have 3 days to go before they get here. They have already informed them regarding the matter and they have been traveling nonstop to get here as fast as they could.
