Chapter 49: Inventory

Chapter 49: Inventory

"Did you two have a good time?" Lily teasingly asked with a wink, while sitting next to a campfire she had built.

Although Thea didn't react, the same couldn't be said for the girl behind her.

"Are you jealous?" Thea asked Lily, who responded with a blush, Mia seeing this became confused.

Thea looked behind her and saw Mia's confusion and chuckled.

"You see, my mommy is a little pervert." Thea said with a smile.

"I-I-I AM N-N-NOT!" Lily shouted, trying to deny it, but with all the stuttering she was doing, and the cherry red blush she had, it was clear she was lying.

"Hehe" Thea giggled before sitting down next to Lily and hugging her. Thea then looked at Mia and patted the spot next to her, indicating she should sit there.

Thea then took out some boar meat from her inventory, she had stored who know how long ago and put it over the campfire to cook it.

"Alright, let's make a plan for today." Thea said seriously and after a short pause, seeing both the girls become serious, she continued.

"We agreed to it yesterday but we will continue towards the capital. Although mommy and me planned to walk the whole way, I suggest, we follow you and see what you're capable of, while you go all out." Thea said while looking at Mia.

"All out? I'm pretty fast though" Mia said, doubting the mother, daughter duo.

"You don't know? Ohh wait, you also didn't know what a magic pouch was. Well you see, with a magic pouch, they have limited storage, they also have a limit to the size of what you want to put inside it. Unlike with the inventory skill, the heat of one thing goes to the other as the pouch is just a larger bag. That's why, what you put inside can break, decay, rot, cool down or warm up. People with the inventor skill are often hired by the adventurer guild or even the royals to transport certain items. On top of that, people with the inventory skill, don't drop anything when the owner of the skill dies, so it's pointless to attack them unless you torture them. Thief skills also don't work on the inventory skill, while they do on a magic pouch unless its enchanted against that." Mia gave a long explanation about Thea's skill.

Thea was surprised of the information she just heard, although she knew the information about her own skill, the information about the magic pouch was disappointing to say the least. Thea cheered up again before she thought about something.

"How do you know so much about this skill?" Thea asked Mia.

"Ohh, my clan has two things we specialize in, assassination and delivery. On the surface we are just a delivery organization that secretly and safely, brings items from one place to another however, we also do assassinations for people who have been recommended, well we used to, as my clan is no more this is also why I am telling you all this." Mia explained before she actually answered the question.

"We became a delivery organization because of our inventory skill which has been passed down from generation to generation, I have it in its 1st stage. I said you were lucky, because it is extremely uncommon for people outside my bloodline to have the skill." Mia said.

"What are the differences between the stages?" Thea asked, curious about what the lower level of the skill was capable of. When she bought and upgraded the skills, she had never inspected their use at the lower level so she was clueless about what it was capable of.

"Well until the [Inventory] is maxed out it actually has a limit, as you probably know, by repeatedly using it, its mastery improves. First level you get 10 slots where you can put an item of 10 cubic meters, which is quite a lot already, second level its 50 slots with 50 cubic meters, then 100, followed by 500 respectively, lastly its unlimited slots with unlimited size. You can put anything in your inventory, as long as the world rules doesn't rule it as someone else's property." Mia finished.

"Someone else's property?" Thea asked.

"Because the tent for example is yours, I can't put it in my inventory, personal belongings you don't clearly state, that you share with me, I can't take. Same goes for monster carcasses, if you slay something alone, I can't take it, if we work together or if you intentionally give me the carcass, I can store it then. Understand?" Mia asked.

Thea thought about all she had heard and surprisingly she didn't have any questions anymore. Somehow the world found a way to balance the skill so it would be fair, and Thea didn't have any problem with that.

"Yep, I understand, how about we go now. I'm really curious to see an assassin in action." Thea excitedly stated.
