______________

Unlike the first time Ryan had been there, the forest seemed to remain unspoiled. The various flying islands remained floating around the main one, where the gigantic wind serpent was supposed to be.

>Are you sure you want a second with that monster?" said Ayumi, worried.

Ryan seemed to be far away in his thoughts, yet he turned to the fox and nodded. Standing up, he looked at Pharah and said, "There's a monster as dangerous as a desert worm. I'll need to take care of him myself"

Pharah's face was visibly frustrated by this, she felt she could help her master. But without the option of denying it, she just nodded and readied herself to listen to the commands.n/-o.-v--E-.l-)b-)1-/n

"There are some jade gorillas near the center of a clearing. They should be about three to four kilometers to the north, eliminate the entire population and wait for me near the waterfall," he said.

The desert warrior nodded, and seconds later disappeared into the forest. Her footsteps echoed across the ground for a few more minutes, while Ryan watched the direction in which she had disappeared.

Taking a deep breath, he looked at the sword that Arthemis had forged for him. That weapon with mana extraction capabilities hadn't helped him in his last confrontation.

'Maybe I just didn't know how to use it properly,' he thought, as he gripped the handle of the sword tightly.

With one swift movement, Ryan made a single cut into the nearest tree. The precise movement that was channeled with wind magic was enough for the blade to pass through easily without letting a single splinter of wood fly.

The speed of the attack was so great that it was still possible to see the mana flowing through the tree. And with his understanding of nature magic, Ryan could feel that tree alive.

Seconds later, gravity did its job. The tree fell and the mana flowing through its trunk was dispersed on the ground. The sound of leaves swaying and birds flying away brought Ryan's attention back to his surroundings.

'I made it... A cut so perfect that life takes a while to recognize death. Just as Lyza had told me,' there was a gigantic smile on his face, especially knowing that he was close to victory.

Ryan then climbed one of the tallest trees in the area. Going from branch to branch, he climbed up to get a better look at the area. Taking a deep breath, he activated his Demon Sight to better understand how that ecosystem worked.

'The biggest source of mana is undoubtedly the snake, if I end up eliminating it, I'll have to watch out for the islands...'

In the first battle, the Void Guardian's blessing caused the snake to be exterminated with all its mana being wasted. Then most of the flying islands were dropped to the ground.

'I want this place to stand, this is going to be my kingdom,' he thought. With a single leap Ryan launched himself into the sky, where he activated his wings and flew to the top of the main forest island.

The wind that flowed through that place was different from the ordinary, it was as if the air in that region was purer, and indeed it was. The whole forest was charged with energy and mana, and the flying islands were constantly flowing gusts of completely pure air downwards.

As Ryan breathed, he felt calmer and more focused. He felt as if the forest was beckoning him closer and closer. Concentrating on his surroundings, his mana began to flow out of his body as he prepared for battle.

Walking along the greenish floor of the main island, Ryan approached the center of the place. Running with all his speed, he quickly reached the place where the gigantic water crystals that held the waterfall flowing into the lake were concentrated.

*Vwoooosh

The sound of the wind flowing and shaking the trees took Ryan by surprise. Some of the water was lifted up along with leaves and branches. The gigantic wind serpent was passing through the middle of the island, flying as it approached the gigantic blue sky.

In combat position, Ryan drew his sword from its sheath. Putting it aside, he charged his feet with wind magic and activated his Demon Wings to move even faster. Within seconds, he was already striking his first blow, easily severing the snake's tail.

The creature's blood spurted everywhere as the tip of its tail fell into the middle of the lake. The contact between the creature's gigantic body and the water caused a gigantic explosion, spraying water everywhere. Then the creature's roar echoed through the forest.

A single cry of pain was enough to frighten all the creatures in the area. Even for Ryan, that scream was intense. Taking a deep breath, he activated his demon form.

Within seconds, the entire blade of the sword was engulfed in black flames, as was the entire body of its bearer.

The serpent moved with astonishing speed, circling the sky in a split second. But this time, he was prepared for it. When the monster tried to fly towards Ryan to swallow him, it flew close to the island.

The flying serpent's mouth had hundreds of teeth, more than twenty rows that looked like mana crystals. When the monster got within twenty meters of Ryan, he moved his hands and used the manipulation of nature.

Using super growth magic, Ryan created two gigantic wooden hands that grabbed the creature. By halting the monster's movement, he only needed a single movement of his blade to cut the monster in half.

The snake's eyes were still alive, but seconds later, the creature blacked out. The monster's body fell through the air and into the water. But before the corpse could destroy the entire forest, Ryan used the same strategy to grab the monster.

Four gigantic wooden hands held the two parts of the snake. Stretching out his hands, Ryan manipulated the flow of mana from the monster's body, causing energy to flow to the main island.

"That should be enough..." he said aloud, as he watched the flying islands. Minutes later, they were still floating and with that he had conquered the region.

"So, this is our new home?" said Make the elf.

The desert warrior Pharah nodded, a confident smile on her face.

Behind them was a gigantic portal made by Ryan, connecting the temporary camp by the river with the main island in the region. The island had a vast lake, green plains and a huge number of fruit trees. The place was extremely vast when taken with the surrounding islands, so large that it would be enough to fit a city without even getting close to the center of the island where the waterfall was located.

"I saw two dwarfs in the camp, could you bring them here?" Ryan said, looking at Pharah.

The warrior nodded and ran off towards the group setting up the bases. A few minutes later, she returned with two short girls with messy red hair.

"These are Toki and Pona, they used to look after the houses in the old village"

Before saying anything, Ryan held out both hands and placed them on the two girls' heads.

"You're so short, I'm surprised you managed to do such a good job," he said with a gentle smile.

The two girls' faces turned red, both from embarrassment and a little from anger. The change in mood was so great that Ryan's system warned him about the threatening look.

"Anyway, I'm going to need help from both of you. Could you start building the houses? From what I can see, Pona can use earth magic"

The two dwarfs' eyes widened in amazement, and at the same time they asked, "How do you know that?"

Ryan's eyes were glowing with a red light, and with a bright smile he said, "I am attentive to each of my servants. Toki, you seem to have an easy time with the wind element, so take the opportunity to cut down the trees and use the crystals to create some boats to go to the other islands or down into the forest."

The girl nodded smilingly. Ryan then gestured with his hands, releasing them. The two girls ran off and got to work.

"These two are smarter than they look," said Pharah, who approached Ryan with a hug.

Turning his face away, he began to engage in a long kiss with the desert warrior.

*Grrr*

'An animal, here?' Ryan thought, startled.

When he broke away from the kiss, he turned back to find the answer. Maki was completely red with jealousy, the elf hadn't even had the chance to touch Ryan that day.

Looking at the two girls, Ryan smiled, "Finish the temporary tents and we can play for a while."

A few meters away, Ayumi watched the three of them. Leaning against a tree, her face didn't look very cheerful.

*Sigh*

"That boy still has a long way to go to become a true clan leader..."
