Chapter 128 Dare To Believe

[You had just seen the incredible awakening of the Apostle of the God of Kindness. The experience was awe-inspiring, and you were rewarded with six stat points!]

A transparent screen with a line of script gilded before everyone's eyes. Something that seemed a mere dream to most. At that time, at that moment, it was visible to all who were present at the CEHA Entrance Exam, both those in the pocket dimension and those watching through the live broadcast!

Anonymous Rat: "Are you kidding me? Does this mean I've got an awakening? This is really happening, right? Did you guys see it too?"

Anonymous Lizard: "Oh my goodness! I saw the text system in front of me too. It's really real! I got a reward of six stat points."

Anonymous Dragon: "Please tell me. Does this mean I have also gotten an awakening? Will I become a Hunter with super powers too? I really need confirmation – I just can't wait to find out the truth."

Anonymous Lion: "You foolish, desperate peasant, just because you can see the system screen doesn't mean you've had an awakening. I'm sure the six stats will be randomly assigned to your basic stats. You poor things, at least you get the same six stat points, a bonus that is twenty percent higher than a single level!"

Anonymous Deer: "Six stat points are definitely still better. I can definitely feel my body getting stronger. It looks like all the points are going into Strength. I tried to punch the wall, but it hurt my hand!"

The fact that everyone was randomly given six stat points without knowing the specifics of their distribution sparked a worldwide uproar; some celebrated, while others were filled with fear.

Anonymous Elephant: "You idiots! Don't get too excited about this, don't you know what happened to Yunatea because of the presence of the god's apostles?! Doomsday! Great war! This is a bad omen for humanity!"

The Apostles of the God of Virtues caused an upheaval that shook the world to its core, much like the devastation wreaked upon humanity tens of years ago. Their awakening sparked a protracted war, which left the human population at only 10% of its original size before the earth's descent into chaos.

Amidst the sudden surge of happiness felt by all the inhabitants of New Earth at that time, great worries and big questions arose in their minds. "What is the task of God's Apostles in the world?"

"Where are the other God's Apostles?" they wondered.

Then, if Olivia rose to become God's Apostle of Kindness, they reasoned, "Of course, there must be other God's Apostles right?"

***

Olivia Aveline, her body engulfed in a white, crackling aura of energy. She screamed in agony as if her body was being ripped apart by an energy she could not control.

"Olivia!" Lily cried out in desperation, eager to help the girl, but James held her back.

"Do you feel the energy radiating from her body, Lily? If you come any closer, you'll be torn apart!"

"We have to do something!" Lily exclaimed in distress. "She's the chosen one of the gods, so it's impossible for her to cause harm to others. She's our savior, but I can't see her suffer like this."

They need to do something. They have to act now! They were in a state of urgency when Olivia seemed to be suffering while a monster with enormous power advanced toward them.

Olivia crouched on the ground, her body encased in a white eggshell. Suddenly, a visible crack appeared, and wild energy radiated outwards, making everyone jump back.

Out of the crack stepped a girl with long, golden hair. Her body was clad in a new layer of textured, shiny white skin.

Olivia's body completely transformed – two pairs of angel wings sprouting from her back.

"Wow!" exclaimed everyone in awe.

"So what is this?" asked someone, "Does that mean God's apostle has this form of transformation? Does this mean Olivia will forever remain in her current form?"

"As far as I know," replied another, "the God's apostle of Sins doesn't have such a characteristic. Is this unique to the God of Virtues' apostles only?"

Olivia opened her eyes, and her golden pupils glistened brightly amidst the energy explosions filling the air around her. Gripping her sword tightly in her right hand, she raised her left, intently studying the events that were unfolding before her.

"What is this?" she whispered.

"She's okay," Lily said, her tone calm yet relieved as she looked at James, who still held her.

Olivia experienced a tremendous surge of power coursing through her, so much so that she felt her prowess magnified several times over. "God Apostle?" she wondered, attempting to decipher the meaning of the words. "Hm, this is certainly unexpected," she murmured.

"Olivia?" James murmured quietly, looking over at her. "Are you alright?"

Olivia then spun around to face them and, with a determined expression, said, "You don't have to worry, I'm more than okay."

Relief washed over Lily's face as she smiled in response.

"I believe I have figured out a way to defeat the monster," she declared, "but I need to put my idea to the test."

Olivia raised her sword, and a layer of energy instantly made it seem larger. She then performed a lightning-fast slash, creating a powerful energy slash that left everyone in awe.

The energy slash traveled across the ground and through the air, slicing one of the hydra's nine heads off in one strike.

"It was absolutely incredible!" exclaimed one onlooker.

"We have a chance to survive!" someone else shouted.

As a glimmer of hope appeared in everyone's hearts, the head that had been cut off suddenly grew back rapidly, followed by an earth-shaking roar.

The Monster Hydra accelerated its pace, and each head returned with its jaws agape, from which a colossal ball of energy materialized.

Olivia declared firmly, "We must behead those nine heads simultaneously; otherwise, they will regenerate until we ultimately succumb to exhaustion."

She declared, "Prepare yourselves; I need nine groups of people with the strongest ultimate abilities. This is the only way we can make it through this. Let me handle those energy balls. So, let's fight!"

Olivia flapped her two pairs of wings and suddenly shot into the air. With a signal from her, several people on the ground started running and darting across the quaking subsoil, which was creating deep splits in the earth.

Olivia clenched her sword firmly with both hands and braced herself for the monster's onslaught.

The first colossal orb of energy came hurtling towards her, instantly sucking up the air around them and causing a colossal concussive detonation in the atmosphere.

She watched, transfixed, as it flew towards her. "Here it comes!" she shouted.

Olivia reacted quickly to greet the colossal energy ball that almost eclipsed her entire body. She swung her sword with force, causing her wings to quiver violently. After doing so, she managed to launch the energy ball in the opposite direction, swiftly skidding to the corner of the pocket dimension. It then triggered an explosion that reverberated through the land.

Olivia darted back quickly, ready to welcome another giant ball of energy. She skillfully threw it back several times, two, three, five, and nine. She managed to successfully thwart nine consecutive attacks.

She had to prevent the onslaught from reaching the rear, for numerous of the participants were encased in ice, resulting in a much larger number of casualties.

Olivia was determined. She could do this.

"It'll take a few moments for the creature to get back to shooting its long-range attacks," said Olivia. "Those of you with close ranged weapons and the ability to easily climb up its body, let's attack now!"

Lewis, Robert, and several others were close enough to the beast that they held their positions, believing the only way to defeat it was for them to strike its nine heads at the same time.

Olivia flapped her wings vigorously, but something seemed off. "Could it be that I tire so quickly from those simple attacks?" she thought to herself.

Olivia's Hunter Device had been destroyed, rendering her unable to monitor her Mana and Stamina levels. With a deep sigh, she was acutely aware that using her wings was taking a toll on her strength.

She descended to the ground and jogged back on her feet. She muttered, "What's the use of these wings then?"

Olivia's wings unfurled and dispersed into the air, transforming into brilliant white energy. She sprinted across the icy landscape, determined to join her friends, who were skillfully weaving around the colossal creature.

Olivia hurriedly approached, trying to dodge and weave in order to stay upright. "I can take out three of the nine with one attack," she yelled. "I'll take the ones on the left, and the rest of you can deal with the remaining seven!" she ordered sternly.

Simultaneously, a person with pointed ears emerged from Olivia's right. "Please don't disappoint me, bitch!" Gydarra bounded and ran nimbly onto one of the legs, then, with remarkable agility, he scurried rapidly between the beast's colossal legs.
