Chapter 116 Elf Girl To Medical Care

After walking around for a little while, I finally saw something that looked like a medical centre.

I slowly made my way over and took the girl inside, still in my arms.

I lightly kicked the door open and made my way inside.

Immediately, I was greeted by the receptionist.

"Oh my goodness, what happened?"

"She was attacked, she's got a few bodily injuries and a pretty major head bleed."

"I'll get a doctor right away!"

I stood at the doorway for a little while as I waited for the receptionist to return. A few moments later, she came back out with a doctor beside her. The elf doctor made his way over and offered to take her off my hands.

"I can take it from here, thank you."

"Sorry, but is it okay if I also come in?"

"Huh? You're still worried about her? She's in good hands, you don't need to worry."

"No, I'm worried about something much bigger than that."

"I don't really get what you mean... but come in then I guess."

We made our way into one of the rooms and I laid her down on the bed.

It was a pretty old-school medical centre but it was clearly quite well-kept. There were lots of different equipment and medicines with clean beds for the patients. From what I could tell, everything was quite professional.

The doctor began examining her and started to treat some of her wounds. After a little while, he turned around and looked at me.

"So what was the thing you were worried about?"

"The people that attacked her... they were humans."

"Ah, did you turn them over to the police?"

"No."

"But... why? They need to be punished for what they did!"

"The thing is—I'm worried about souring relations between the elves and humans."

"What?"

"We have a common enemy right now and we need to focus on that. If problems end up arising between our two races, there are going to be very bad consequences."

"What are you..."

"I'm asking you to keep this a secret," I said firmly.

"I can't do that, one of our girls got attacked and you want me to keep it a secret?!"

"How about this, I'll bring you the heads of all the people involved in the attack."

"Huh? Wait..."

"It's a pretty harsh punishment, don't you think?"

"I mean..."

"Trust me, no one will benefit from broken down relations between us."

There was a short moment of silence.

"How can you be sure that you are capable of doing so?" he asked.

"You don't need to worry about that, I guarantee that I can do it."

"But tracking down and killing several people... it's not something that anyone can just do."

"Do you know about the Global Rankings of humans?"

"I mean... I suppose."

"I'm ranked sixth."

He was suddenly taken by surprise.

I pulled up my sleeve and showed him my [Silver Armband].

"Here's the proof."

"U-uh..."

"Please, it's for the good of everyone."

"I guess so... if you say you'll punish them."

"Thank you."

A few minutes later, the doctor finished up disinfecting and bandaging up the wounds of the elf girl. She slowly got up off of the bed and waddled over to me. She looked down and grabbed my shirt.

"Thank you..."

"It's fine."

I got up to leave but she continued holding onto my shirt.

"What is it."

"U-um... nothing..."

I guess my tone sounded a bit harsh.

I patted her on the head before leaving the medical centre. I, unfortunately, had some justice I needed to uphold, for the sake of the entire human population. Now that I thought about it, it sounded pretty profound.

What a hassle.

As I made my way down the street as I thought about how I was going to do this. If I wanted to keep everything on the low down, I'd have to kill them without anyone noticing. This meant that I'd have to find some way to assassinate them. If someone saw me killing a few humans, there may be even larger consequences, especially for me.

I guess I could always just hire someone else to do it for me. However, my idea at the moment was to somehow lure them outside of the city. If they were outside of the city, it would be much easier to kill them without repercussions. They weren't exactly good people, I'm sure I could do it pretty easily if I lured them with money or something else valuable.

As I made my way further down the street, I heard some footsteps behind me.

"Hey, I haven't seen you in a while!"

Ah, what perfect timing.

"Hey Robbie, how good are you at assassinating people?"

"W-what's this all of a sudden?"

"It's for the sake of humanity."

"You can sugarcoat it all you want, but I'd prefer it if you could start from the beginning."

I decided to explain the entire situation to him.

It took more effort than I would've liked, although, a little while later, even he seemed to be able to understand the importance of the task.

"Well, my plants are a lot better for this than your Minions."

"Yeah, that's what I was thinking as well."

"Well, we can sort this out tomorrow then, I've been getting somewhat bored anyways, the elves are nice but the humans here are quite annoying."

"Ah..."

It was starting to get late so the two of us went our separate ways.

"By the way, where are you staying?" he asked.

"I've got a house a few hundred metres that way."

"Oh, my house is over here. Well, I see you tomorrow then."

"Okay."

Eventually, I made my way back toward my nice comfortable house. I unlocked the door and made my way inside, going up in preparation to take a shower. I seemed to be pretty addicted to hot showers at the moment, I guess it was a symptom of being in the forest for so long.

I relaxed as the hot water splashed onto my back. After cleaning myself up a little, I got into a new set of clothes I was given and decided to rest on the couch.

All of a sudden, I heard someone knocking on my door.

What was someone doing here so late?

I walked down the stairs and opened the door to see the elf girl standing there.

In her hands, she was holding a bouquet of flowers.

Her face was bright red.
