After 10 minutes, Cheng Yuelin finished washing the dishes and walked out of the kitchen.

Ruan Zhiyin had been sitting and thinking in the living room for a long time. Ruan Zhiyin would ask him to stop.

“Cheng Yuelin.”

“Yes, what?”

The man raised his eyebrows in question and turned his head lazily. His dark and quiet eyes looked straight at her.

Maybe it was due to his casual sportswear clothes today. As he leaned against the wall lazily, Ruan Zhiyin felt as though she could see some of his mannerisms from high school.

Ruan Zhiyin paused and said, “If you continue to eavesdrop on my conversations, I would like to switch rooms.”

After thinking for a while, adding soundproofing to the walls would require hiring a contractor and setting up times for construction. Just switching to a different room would be easier.

Cheng Yuelin lifted the corners of his mouth and glanced around lightly before he laughed and said, “Ruan Yingying, I need to correct you. It’s obvious that the second bedroom has poor sound insulation. It is not because I ‘eavesdrop’”.

“Besides, only the master bedroom and the second bedroom can be occupied. Where do you want to move to?”

Ruan Zhiyin furrowed her brow in confusion. “Aren’t there two more rooms to the west of the master bedroom?”

“Oh, those are the rooms I have reserved for the children.”

The man easily foiled her plans.

Ruan Zhiyin stared. “Children’s rooms? When did you get kids?”

“I don’t have any right now, but that doesn’t mean I won’t in the future. I’m just saving up for a rainy day. Don’t you understand?”

Cheng Yuelin lazily finished speaking and his dark eyes looked at her with an indecipherable emotion.

“But didn’t Zhao Bing say that you…”

Ruan Zhiyin choked on her words before she finished speaking.

The fact that Cheng Yuelin had prepared two children’s rooms would mean that he probably liked kids. No matter what, she could not just poke at other people’s sore spots.

The man’s deep eyes looked at her in a probing manner. “Oh? What did Zhao Bing say about me?”

He knew that Zhao Bing had taken the initiative to run into her last time, to most likely reveal some matters. From her attitude now, it seems as though… there was some sort of misunderstanding.

“It’s nothing.” Ruan Zhiyin breathed a sigh of relief. “Okay then, I won’t move. But I will ask some contractors to come in and install some soundproofing between the second bedroom and the master bedroom.”

“Whatever you’d like.” Cheng Yuelin did not mind and indifferently shrugged his shoulders. Then he added, “As long as you do not mind wasting effort.”

Even if it was installed, they won’t be using it for long.

The weekend passed quickly.

After Cheng Yuelin returned from his business trip, the ribbon cutting ceremony for the official opening of the Beicheng project was quickly coming up. As Lin Heng was the investor, he naturally would need to attend.

The terrain of Lanqiao city was quite hilly, and it was not easy to develop residential or commercial areas. This area had previously been a suburb.

The city government did not want to waste the commercial value of the Beicheng area and in the end, they decided to build a large resort.

The Ruan Company would not only be in charge of developing the resort but also for running the operations afterward. The ribbon cutting ceremony would be attended by the representatives of Lin Heng and several other partners who would be moving in to the park afterwards.

Kang Yu had also contacted local TV stations and media to film the event. To avoid raising suspicion, Ruan Zhiyin did not arrive with Cheng Yuelin.

The partners had basically all arrived, and most of the people from the government had also arrived.

The ribbon cutting ceremony was scheduled to begin at ten o’clock.

With more than ten minutes remaining, Kang Yu walked up to Ruan Zhiyin’s side and said, “President Ruan, everything’s ready.”

“Okay.” Ruan Zhiyin nodded.

She was just about to send a message to Cheng Yuelin when she heard a small commotion coming from the back.

She raised her head to look and the man in the dark grey suit was walking slowly over. The hard silhouette was tinged with a bit of coldness, and his eyes were detached and indifferent.

A few representatives of the partners came forward to greet and shake hands with him, but they only said a few brief words. He would shake his head from time to time and he continued forward. He was followed by a few people and he stopped walking when he reached her side.

“There was some business, and I was delayed.”

This was to explain the reason for his late arrival.

Other than the careful gazes that people gave towards them, Ruan Zhiyin calmly shook her head. “That’s fine. It is just about to start.”

No wonder Linlang felt that his appearance was completely different from the him of the past. On occasions such as this, Cheng Yuelin truly did feel more detached and indifferent.

Maybe the hardships and ridicule he had endured previously had caused him to put away his youthful brashness and arrogance to become more quiet and detached.

Hearing her words, Cheng Yuelin did not say anything more and slightly nodded his head. Then he took his seat beside her.

As the ceremony started, the host began the proceedings. The people below the stage had their heads filled with other thoughts, but their gazes would always linger on the two people in the front row.
