Chapter 483 Too Early Practice Sessions

"So, when do they want to meet me for the signing process?" The goalkeeper asked as he slowly made his way into the house.

"Well, your schedule is sort of already tight until your match against Supreme so I set up dates for days you might be free next week after the game, I already sent them to you, just have a look and pick one so that I can get back to them," Clark explained as his voice resounded through the phone's speaker.

"Oh, I see. Alright, then, I'll pick the one that suits me best."

"Great."

"So, how are we going to go there? Are you going to head over there a day before or are we going to go together?" He asked before slowly sitting down on the couch.

"Well, I'm going to be here for the Audiz derby so we're definitely going to go together."

"Oh, you've been coming home quite a lot recently you know."

"I knew you were going to say that."

"Is there something you're not telling me about?" The goalkeeper asked.

"Something like what?"

"I don't know, you're the one who should know." He replied with a shrug.

"Well, there hasn't been much for me to do over here recently so I figured that I should start coming home a little more frequently."

"Oh."n0Velusb.c0m

"But seriously, Dave, you guys should make sure you win that match and not just a normal win, I want you guys to crush them so I can rub it on my reporter girlfriend's face."

"Yeah, she must have done something to you."

"She's been sending me match highlights of Unique FC getting destroyed by Supreme United in the past and that was just after I sent her a single message." Clark expressed.

That professionalism in his voice was gone now, this was now a chat between best friends.

"And let me guess, you said we were going to crush them."

"Precisely and I haven't heard the end of it since that day. You guys have to win that match or this might get worse."

"I think you should try talking to Mateo because I am only a goalkeeper whose only job is to stop shots," Dave uttered with a little chuckle escaping in between his words.

"Are you kidding me, bro? You scored that equalizer against Dynamo FC and you also did it against Spree City, I know you're just joking."

"Yeah, but still you should try talking to Mateo instead if you're looking for someone to coerce into winning the match." The goalkeeper remarked sarcastically.

"I already did and if you guys end up losing that match, I won't forgive any of you." He threatened.

"Well, we don't have any intention of losing. As long as you're there to cheer us on, we'll pull through, we also beat them in our first meeting this season anyway," Dave assured him.

"Yeah, and you guys have been in superb form lately, Supreme United's defense has been a little shaky when bombarded with pressure so maybe you guys can take advantage of that." Clark expressed with a serious tone this time. "Anyway, I have to go now, take care and tell Emma I said hi, bye."

"Bye," Dave said before he ended the call from the other side.

"Was that Clark?"

As soon as he heard that voice, he quickly turned around to find Emma standing in the dining area.

She was still in the black robe she went to bed in last night and her stomach seemed to have gotten quite bigger, big enough for anyone to know that she was a pregnant woman from a good distance but it still wasn't there yet.

"Yeah, we were talking about the possible endorsement deal he told me about last night." He replied.

"Oh, so you'll be making a trip to Wiesbaden soon?"

"Yeah, next week after the Audiz derby." He replied with a nod.

"Oh, I...oooow." She suddenly groaned before slowly sitting down on the seat behind her.

"Huh? What happened?" Dave asked before suddenly springing up from the couch with a confused expression on his face.

"I think he just kicked me." She squeaked with her hands on her stomach.

The look on her face said a lot about how painful that felt for her but Devon had to suddenly pause after hearing her say that.

"And I thought it was something serious." He sighed.

"How does this not look serious to you?"

"The only thing serious about this is the fact that my son is going to become a great footballer, he's already having training sessions in his mother's stomach, I'm already so proud." He sniffled before putting his finger on his eye to wipe out imaginary tears.

"You can't be serious." Emma couldn't help but let out a little chuckle. "Yeah, he might end up becoming a great footballer though but I wish he wouldn't have practice sessions so often."

"Don't listen to her boy, have as many practice sessions as possible."

"Owww!"

It was just as if the unborn child was listening to their conversation because that was in sync.

"You know what, Devon, maybe you shouldn't have practice sessions so often." He muttered before scrunching up his eyes.

"Do you know what I wish for the most right now?" Emma asked before slowly raising her gaze to look at him and the expression on her face wasn't a nice one.

"With that look on your face, I don't want to find out." He replied before shaking his head.

"Well, you will because I just wish there was a way to transfer him to your pitch, I'm sure he would love it."

"Yeah, something crazy, too bad I don't have a pitch for training but I still wouldn't want that." He replied before slowly making his way to her.

"Hmph."

"You're scoffing at me now?" He muttered before letting out a sigh. "Okay, fine, let me try to convince Devon to stop his practice sessions for now." He added before squatting down in front of her.

"That's already too late." She pouted.

"Huh?"

"The pitch has already taken considerable damage from reckless actions and will take some time to be repaired so you'll be the one making breakfast today."

"I should have seen that coming."

<Looks like you're getting punished for something that has nothing to do with you>

'Yeah, something you don't see every day, but I was already planning to come help her in the kitchen.'

<Well, looks like you're doing it alone now>

______ _______

The players had to go back to training the next day because they had a tough match ahead of them.

Nothing that eventful happened during the training session because it was a short one before the players had to head over to the locker rooms so that Norman could talk about tactics, lineups, and formation.

Everything seemed okay until he started naming the players that were going to be starting the match.

They expected him to start the players that made up their strongest starting eleven, but he seemed to have something else in mind.

The defense was okay because I guess he didn't want to take any risks with that but in midfield and attack.

"In midfield, we'll have Martinez in his position, Edward on the right, and Harry on the left and then in attack, we'll have Frankie, Gregory, and Carlos."

<Experimenting against the league leaders now are we?>

'I just don't understand coach, sometimes.'
