Chapter 471 Second Fifteen Minutes

"And the first fifteen minutes is over with the stalemate still unbroken," Jim commented as soon as the referee blew his whistle the second time.

Well, it was just fifteen minutes so there wasn't really much time for them to do much but the good chances they managed to get, they failed to put away.

Unique FC got two good chances that they failed to convert while Spree City won a free kick at the edge of the opposition's box but Felix ended up blasting it over the bar.

The break was a very short one for the players but during that time, Norman managed to pass on a couple of useful info to the players before they could get back on the pitch to finish the last fifteen minutes.

The tension in the stadium was quickly rising now and the fans were enjoying it as their voices were also rising.

"This is the last fifteen minutes, will we be able to see a winner or will it go into a penalty shootout which I would love to see?"

Felix could be seen standing over the ball in the kick-off spot waiting for the referee's whistle, and as soon as he heard it, he quickly sent the ball rolling to Torres.

"And the second fifteen is on the way."

Torres quickly tried to link up with Jelani down the right wing but that didn't exactly work out as well as he expected it to.

The winger was able to bring the ball down with his chest, but just before he could do anything with it, Roland came sliding his way in an attempt to get the ball off his feet.

The left-back succeeded in getting the ball off his feet but just before he could get up and send it to any of his teammates, Jamie got to it and quickly sent it rolling to Felix.

"Jamie makes sure his team retains the ball but Felix's not having things easy Frankie around him, three minutes already gone," Jim commented.

Frankie wasn't going to give the striker that space he needed to either shoot or push the ball forward to any of his teammates up front so he had no choice but to push it back to Dennison who quickly tried to set up Torres with a lob into the box.

The winger was able to quickly get past Luis but just before he could get to the ball, Dave quickly rushed out and grabbed it with both of his hands.

ραΠdαsΝοvel.cοm That was pretty careless from the goalkeeper because if the winger had gotten his head on that ball before he could get to it, then it would have been game over for them but he had it covered.

He was aware that there was no time to waste, that would be a different case if they were leading so he had to quickly send the ball flying out down the right.

The ball was heading straight toward Merino, and as soon as it got to him, he sent it flying to Ferran with a header.

"He sends it to Ferran."

Ferran quickly started pushing down with the ball as soon as he got his foot on it.

It took some of the defenders coming to stop him along with Dennison and Jamie quickly coming toward him from behind to get him to send the ball to Mateo down the left.

"Mateo."

Mateo tried to get past the right back with the ball before he had a change of mind and decided to send it flying to Merino down the right wing instead.

Merino was at the edge of the box when the ball got to him, and as soon as he trapped it under his foot, the left back quickly came rushing toward him.

He shouldn't have been so fast because Merino was able to use that to his advantage and swiftly lob the ball over him to get into the box from him.I think you should take a look at

"Merino gets into the box nicely, this could be their chance!"

The winger had enough space to shoot with the other defenders quickly closing up but just before he could fire the ball toward the goalpost, the left back whom he had already taken off quickly rushed toward him from behind and sort of dragged him down leaving the ball to keep on rolling forward.

Minino quickly rushed to the area to get his foot on the ball just at that time but the defender there was able to get to it first and he didn't waste any time in sending it flying out for a corner kick and after that began the ruckus.

It looked like Merino was pushed there right inside the box but the referee didn't blow his whistle so a couple of Unique FC players were gathered around the referee now trying to at least convince him to go check VAR while Spree City players were against that idea as they claimed that nothing happened there.

"Yeah, it looks like Sekir sort of tugged his shorts there to get him to fall," Steve commented.

At the end of everything, the referee made up his mind on not checking VAR and Minino even got a yellow card for talking too much.

Unique FC players and fans weren't happy with that decision but it wasn't like there was anything they could do about it, the only thing they could hope for was for VAR to call him back to order on the decision but that didn't happen either which meant that there was no penalty for them.

"Well, looks like Unique FC will have to do that but they have a corner kick that could turn into something," Steve commented.

"We have just three minutes left for the match to come to an end."

"How the heck was that not a penalty?" Ferran muttered with his gaze on the ball on the corner kick spot.

He was still salty about that decision just like the rest of his teammates, the fans, and the coach.

He was already a few feet away from the ball, and as soon as he heard the whistle, he quickly closed up on it and sent it flying into the box.

He lobbed the ball in toward the far right where Mateo managed to get his head to it in the midst of everywhere going for it.

However, he wasn't able to direct that properly as the ball ended up bouncing off toward the right while the goalkeeper was still stuck on the left side.

"His header goes haywire but someone can still capitalize on that!"

Merino had Dennison right on him but he had no fear as he dived toward the ball just as the midfielder stretched his leg toward it.

The winger managed to get his head to it first, and that was the end of it.

The goalpost was empty and the ball just went flying in.

"And Merino makes no mistake!"

The fans immediately sprang up from their feet with their voices going to create roars of jubilation.

"We all thought it was going to penalties but he came through with what could be described as the header of redemption!" Jim was just as enthusiastic as the away fans.

"Yes! Yes! Yes!" Dave yelled as loud as he could as he quickly rushed into the goalpost and kicked the net.

"Took them long enough," Steve commented.
