Chapter 439 Second One

The training session that day was pretty exhausting for all the players but it was fun nonetheless, and now that they were all sitting on the pitch, Norman was just going to tell them everything that he needed to tell them everything he needed to tell them before their upcoming game which was going to be against Frono FC two days from now.

"Welcome back, everyone once again, looks like you guys are still in top shape."

"Of course, two weeks isn't enough to make us get into bad shape," Minino muttered.

"I know you guys are aware that there were teams in the past who performed superbly during the first half of the season but after coming back from the mid-season break their performance dropped drastically and they ended up winning nothing that season.

"Well, it was drastic for some teams, and some, it was just a small drop in form, but I want it to be neither for us. We've worked hard to get to where we are so far this season we've struggled a lot in the past seasons to get to where we are this season and we can't just let all that crumble, we're through to the round of sixteen in the Europa Conference League, we're just a point behind Supreme United in the league and we're still in the cup competition. I see the possibility of us winning a treble this season."

<He has that big dream too, huh?>

"Anyway, what I'm saying is that everyone has done pretty well so far this season, I'm proud of all of you and hope that we will continue doing what we're doing."

After that, Norman had a few other things that he talked to them about before they were finally allowed to start making their way to the locker room.

"Hey, Devon."

As soon as the goalkeeper heard his name, he turned around to see the goalkeeping coach Mr. Lucas.

"Huh?"

"Your father wants to see you, he's in his office."

"Is there a problem?"

"I don't know, he just asked me to call you."

"Okay," Dave said with a sigh before he turned around and began to make his way to the area.

It didn't take him long to get to his office, and after knocking on the door, he heard his voice from inside telling him to come inside.

He opened the door and walked into the office to find him sitting on his chair with his legs crossed and on his table.

"Hey, Father." He greeted as he slowly made his way to him.

"Oh, hey, Dave, have a seat." He said before pointing to the seat in front of his desk.

"Okay," Devon muttered before slowly sitting down on the seat.

There was a little moment of silence between them as Tom checked off some things in the tablet he was holding before dropping it on the table.

"So, Dave, I heard you were in Frankfurt these past few weeks."

"Yeah, with my wife.*

"And you didn't even tell me about it."

"Because there was no reason to, you didn't tell me when you traveled to England last month, did you?"

"Hmm, fair point?"

"Was that the only reason why you called me here?"

"Umm…no, not really, I just find it a bit strange that we got a good offer from you from Frankfurt during the mid-season break and then suddenly you decide to go to Frankfurt." He expressed.

"Oh, dear," Dave uttered before letting out a sigh. "I wasn't there because of any of that, I already told you that I'm not leaving the club until the end of the season."

"I know that I was just wondering if you're really planning to go to Frankfurt?"

"Uh…I don't understand that question." He replied before shaking his head.

"Okay, let me make it clear, with the talent you have right now, are you planning to go to Frankfurt?"I think you should take a look at

"And what if I want to?"

"Seriously, Dave? You're breaking records this season and you want to be a Frankfurt player next season?"

Dave let out a sigh before slowly letting out a deep sigh.

"I never said I was going there, Father, it's just one of my options and I am considering how good it is going to be for me and also how much it is going to benefit the club." He explained. "This is my choice to make Father, the only thing you should be worried about is how much your club benefits from it."

"I know Dave, all I'm saying is that there are clubs better than Frankfurt that will come with better options so you shouldn't be in a haste to make up your mind with Frankfurt."

"And who said I did that, you know I really hate it when you make all these assumptions without asking proper questions." The goalkeeper said before getting up from the seat. "I have to go now."

"Sure, go ahead. Send my regards to Emma."

"I will."

He made his way straight to the door and opened it, and while Tom was expecting him to slam the door shut, he closed it slowly.

'It's funny how this man makes all these assumptions, Frankfurt isn't even in the top five clubs I want to move to next season.'

<Well, at least now you understand that he's doing everything because he really cares about you and wants the best for you even if he fails to consider your feelings most of the time>

'Yeah, but it's still annoying.'

The goalkeeper got home that evening to find out that Emma wasn't at home.

She didn't go to work that day which meant that she went out to get something.

The television was on when he walked into the living room, and while he was still standing, he picked up the remote control and changed the channel to one of the sports channels.

It was another episode of the official Bilbeth Premier League show and it looked like they were talking about the highlights of last month.

"Alright now, it's time to look at last month's top three goals." The female host said before turning her gaze to the screen.

The third goal was the neat left-footed strike from Roland against Litno FC, it was a neat setup from Mateo and he did pretty well to put it away.

The second one was the volley from Fredinho just from the edge of the box, and while those two goals were great, they were totally outclassed by the goal that got the number one spot.

A neat strike from Dynamo FC's Frank just as he was racing toward the goalpost from the right, the ball ended up bouncing in between the crossbar and goal line before falling into the goalpost.

"That was crazy," Dave muttered.

<You guys should watch out for him in your next encounter, he's the reason why you guys have one loss after all>

'Yeah."

"Alright then, it is now time to reveal the player of the month for last month, and once again, we have Dave Richards scooping up the award for the second time this season."

As soon as she said that, Dave's image popped up on the screen before quickly switching to highlights of his notable moments on the pitch.

"Well, that makes a lot of sense, the goalkeeper has been exceptional this season."

"He will receive his award in their match against Frono FC."

After watching all that, the goalkeeper couldn't help but smile before crashing down on the couch.

*****

Hey, guys. Quick question.

Would you rather have Dave move to a top, mid or bottom club in the top five leagues next season, and if you can would you mind giving the reason for your choice? Thank you.
