Chapter 388 On Easy Mode

The signs had been there since the start of the first half and now Unique FC were leading the game for the first time since the start of the match.

That goal was something West Ham United players would do anything to prevent, they would be happy with a draw but it looked like even that was starting to move away from them today.

They were the ones with the ball after the match resumed, but so far, they had been unable to do anything and it seemed like they were stalling play which wasn't something they were supposed to be doing with the current scoreline.

Sunblade got hold of the ball and just before Minino could get to him, he sent it rolling to one of the central midfielders who sent it flying over to Ray.

Ray brought the ball down with his chest and just before Roland could get to him, he sent the ball rolling to Felipe.

The striker knew there was no way he would be able to get past both Aima and Adolf so he sent the ball rolling back to Sunblade who pushed it to the midfielder beside him before Martinez could get to him.

"West Ham United are holding onto the ball longer than they could do during the start of this half but Unique FC aren't giving them any space to do anything," Jim commented.

The midfielder was forced to move back a little because of Henry but he didn't want to take it back so he sent it rolling to Sunblade with a backheel pass as soon as he found the opportunity.

"Back to Sunblade."

Sunblade pushed a little forward with the ball before passing it to Felipe who had to send it back to him with his first touch.

As soon as Sunblade got his foot on the ball, he found Ray making a run down the right wing and immediately sent the ball flying over to him.

Because of their clear height difference, Roland was not able to stop Ray from getting his head on the ball as the striker sent the ball flying into the box with a header, it was a headed cross.

Felipe got past Aima and Adolf to get his head on the ball but he wasn't able to get a clean hit on it due to a little tug on his shirt from Aima.

The ball was sent flying toward the top right-hand corner of the goalpost but that was no problem for Dave who was right there to catch it with both of his gloves.

"Easy save for Dave," Jim commented.

"I feel like he should have added a little more power to that header at least, there's no way you can beat Dave with an effort like that." Steve expressed.

'I guess now that we're leading, I now have a role to play in making sure we come out victorious.'

<Don't mess it up>

'I won't, because, I'm not doing it alone.' He said subconsciously before throwing out the ball toward Minino.

The match continued till the sixty-fifth minute with none of the sides being able to get a goal.

West Ham United were the ones that desperately needed the goal but Unique FC also wanted another goal to solidify their victory.

Right now, Unique FC were the ones with the ball and they were passing it around near the center of the pitch while trying to find an opening to tear West Ham United apart from.

West Ham United had gotten a few more chances after that one from Felipe but two of them got blocked and then there was another easy save for Dave.

Ray, who had decided to shift a little to the right to see if he could do things from there was finding it quite difficult to get past Roland and do anything from there.

Henry got hold of the ball from Martinez, and just before Sunblade along with two other defenders could get to him, he passed the ball to Minino who immediately sent it rolling toward Merino who got hold of the ball and moved a little toward the middle with it before passing it to Fred.

Fred wanted to try something solo from there but he was suddenly ganged up on by two defenders.

He tried his best to keep hold of the ball because there was no space for him to pass it, and in the end, he ended up going down under the challenge of one of the players.

The referee blew his whistle just like he wanted and now they had a free kick in a really good position.

West Ham United players had some complaints about that decision but they weren't going to change the referee's mind.

"A free kick with both of their free-kick takers on the bench, I wonder who's going to take this," Steve commented.

"Probably Minino or they could throw Dave in there to take it, he scores bangers from the goalpost so there's no way a close-up free kick will be any problem for him, right?"

"Yeah, now that you mention it, his free-kick ability should be okay, he doesn't only have shot power, his accuracy is also really good," Steve said.

While the commentators were giving their thoughts on why Dave should take the free kick, the goalkeeper wasn't even thinking about it and so were his teammates as Minino could be seen standing over the ball now.

He had a four-man wall in front of him and was just waiting for the referee's whistle. It didn't take long before he heard it and now it was time to see what the midfielder could do with a free kick.

He took in a deep breath before he slowly took three steps backward.

He paused for a while before he quickly fired it toward the goalpost with a power shot knuckleball style.

The goalkeeper was glued to the center of his goalpost as the ball flew toward the top right side of the goalpost and hit the crossbar before going out for a goal kick.

"Oh, that was so close and the goalkeeper was even glued to a spot there," Jim commented.

"Yeah, that was a well-executed free kick, especially with a shot of that magnitude but his accuracy was just off by a small margin." Steve expressed.

Despite missing that free kick, Unique FC were still seeing the match through comfortably and because of that, Norman didn't bother bringing in Ferran and Mateo until the eightieth minute.

Mateo came on to replace Fred as Fredinho moved to the center forward, Ferran came on to replace Henry as expected and finally, Frankie came on to replace Martinez.

Unique FC were already driving through the game on easy mode and now that Mateo and Ferran came in, things just became easier.

Even Frankie contributed a lot in making the match easier by stealing the ball from West Ham United players with every opportunity he got, he was the player with the best interception ability in the team after all.

The match had just entered the ninetieth minute now as Frankie raced down the middle with the ball before passing it to Ferran who pushed forward a little with before passing it to Fredinho who sent it rolling back to Merino with a single touch.

Minino trapped the ball under his feet and just before Sunblade could attempt to take it from him, he pushed it to Ferran who immediately sent it rolling to Mateo.

Mateo swept past the right back with some neat skill but before he could do anything else with it, it was quickly swept off his feet by a defender.

Fortunately, Roland was there to pick you the ball before the player could get to him and now that Mateo was back on his feet, he sent the ball rolling back to him.

The winger feigned shooting at the player right in front of him before sending it back to Ferran.

Ferran passed the ball to Roland as soon as he got hold of it and since the left back didn't have anyone else to pass it to so he sent it back to Ferran.

Ferran feigned shooting at the player who had closed up on him at that moment before passing the ball to Mateo inside the box.

Mateo had a few problems to deal with right in front of him so what he did was redirect the ball with his backheel.

The ball shifted toward Fredinho who was all alone in the middle now and the striker didn't have any problem putting it away while the goalkeeper was still glued to a spot.

"What was that pass? I know they were linking well before he came in but he just takes the fluidity of the game to a whole different level." Jim commented.

"I couldn't agree more, West Ham United may have taken the lead first but they had this match in the bag right from the start." Steve expressed.
