Chapter 328 Unexpected Guest

'Fifteen minutes is quite a lot but it will get less as I level the skill up, right?'

<Yeah, but the drops won't be that significant until you get it to a very high level>

'That's not a problem, I've been holding my ground without this skill and I will continue to do that. Once I use it and it starts cooling down, I'll just try hard to deal with those dangerous high balls until the cooldown is over.'

<Well said>

'If I knew this skill would evolve into this, I would have leveled it up a long time ago.'

<Yeah, but you weren't getting skill upgrade points then, and using the skill to try and level it up that way was just too obvious, isn't that right?>

'Yeah, I forgot to put those into consideration.' He said before putting his hand on the back of his head. 'So what other skill can be evolved into something better?'

<You want me to tell you?>

'Yeah.'

<No>

'Why not.'

<What's the fun in that, if I tell you you'll just go and start trying to level that particular skill up>

'Yeah, and what's bad about that.'

<There's no excitement for you especially because you know the skill is going evolve into something, you just don't know what it will evolve into>

'I think the excitement of not knowing what it will evolve to is enough for me.'

<No, I'm not telling you anything>

'Fine, I'll just get all of them to level five and see which one evolves.'

<If I could laugh, I would have burst into a feat of laughter in your head now, you think getting them to level five will evolve them>

'Isn't that how Double jump evolved to thrust?'

<Yeah, because that only applies to double jump, to get the other evolving skills you have to evolve, you'll need to get them to a higher level>

'And by higher you mean six, right?'

<No, eight to ten>

'Eight to ten?'

<Yeah>

'That's going to take a while.'

<Yeah, so you have to be careful>

'I know.' He replied before putting his hand on his chin. 'It's either Ball magnet, Double stamina, or focus, huh, whichever one it is, I hope it evolves into something really good.'

'You'll have to keep leveling them up to see.'

Mateo was mostly outside during afternoons looking for where to go or something to do, but today he decided to stay at home and relax.

He was lying on his bed with his phone placed against his ear as he happened to be on a call with someone.

"Yeah, that goal was unbelievable." He said. "So, How're your studies coming?"

"Hold on with that question for a moment," Sofia said from the other end.

"Huh? What's wrong?"

"You know I was about to go do something else after watching that match yesterday, but just as I was about to turn the television off, I saw you getting all cozy with that reporter." She said,

"You saw that? Of course, you saw it, I told her this was going to happen." The winger said.

"So, you do know the reporter on a personal level."

"Yeah, she's sort of my sister's subordinate at their workplace, she's a new employee, I met her during our match against Lesica United first and then she came to my sister while I was at Dave's place, we've gotten close due to all the times we've met."

"Close in what sense?"

"Sense? We're just friends."

"Just friends?"

"Yeah."

"And what about me?" She asked.

"What about you?"

"Yeah."

"I didn't get your question."

"Do you…."

"Do I…."

"Ah, just forget it, I have to go, bye."

Those words were said abruptly and she didn't even give him time to say anything before ending the call.

"I guess she needs to take care of something urgent, but things got a bit awkward there."

He let out a deep sigh before he dropped his phone on the bed.

He lay on the bed and stared at the ceiling quietly for a while before he suddenly heard knocking sounds coming from the door.

"I wonder who that could be." He muttered before he slowly got up from his bed and made his way to the door.

He stared at the door for a couple of seconds before pulling it open just as the person was about to knock again.

"Amber?" He said with a surprised expression on his face.

"Hey, Mateo." She said before quickly forcing her way past him and into the house.

She was putting on a long-sleeved blue dress that was only able to react to her thighs, but she had black socks on to cover her legs.

She had her hair tied back which was something Mateo was seeing for the first time.

"What are you doing here?" The winger asked before slowly closing the door.

"I think I forgot something in your car yesterday." She replied.

"Oh, yeah, I think I picked up something in there this morning. The item you are looking for, is it a black flash drive?"

"Yeah, I was planning to use it after getting home that night but I forgot it in your car so I had to use another one but I really need it now, that's where all my work is stored."

"You stored everything in there without considering what would happen if it gets lost," Mateo said.

"No, I'm not that stupid, I have them all backed up on my PC, the flash drive just makes things easier for work so I keep it around." She explained.

"Oh, I see."

"So, where is it?"

"In my room."

"Can you go get it for me then?" She requested.

"No," Mateo said before he began to make his way to the fridge near the kitchen area.

"Hey." She inflated her cheek with an annoyed look on her face before following him.

"Go get it yourself." He said before opening the fridge.

"You want me to go into your room and take it?"

"Yeah, is there anything wrong with that?"

"Um….not really, so where is it?" She asked.

"It's in a pretty obvious spot, so when you get there just look around and you'll see it."

"Seriously?" She said before crossing her arms.

"Just look around, you'll see it, trust me."

"Okay, fine." She said before heading off before Mateo could pick up what he wanted from the fridge.

As soon as she got to the room, she began to search the table, the cupboard, and the bed, but she wasn't able to find anything until Mateo entered the room with two glasses filled with a red liquid.

"As my unexpected guests, it's only right to offer you a drink."

She was sitting on the bed now with both of her legs stretched out and she didn't have the nicest expression on her face.

"I thought you said it was in an obvious spot." She said.

"Yeah, it is in an obvious spot." He said before dropping the drinks on the table beside the bed.

"Liar." She muttered before she stretched her hand, grabbed him by his collar, and pulled him down on the bed but she seemed to have pulled him down on the wrong place, her body.

"Look over there on top of the television, isn't that an obvious spot?" The winger said after pointing to the flash drive on top of the television but there was no response from her.

She was frozen with her gaze directly fixed on his eyes.
