Chapter 307 A Possiblity That Never Happened

Despite winning their last two matches, Unique FC remained in third place as both Supreme United and Dynamo FC were also able to win their last two matches.

Supreme United had won all their matches so far this season while Dynamo FC had dropped two points from a draw and Unique FC had dropped six points from a loss.

To sum that up, Supreme United had all eighteen points from six matches, Dynamo FC had thirteen points from six matches and Unique FC had twelve points from six matches which meant that overtaking Dynamo FC wouldn't be that tedious if they keep up their good performance.

The team sitting behind Unique FC in fourth place was surprisingly a team that had just been promoted to the Bilbeth Premier League, Ballena United, they were sitting there with ten points from six matches and the team right behind them wae Lesica United with the same amount of points.

Unique FC's next match wasn't going to be an easy one as they were going to be facing off against Spree City on their home turf, facing off against Spree City had never been easy for them, but they were going to try their best just like they had been doing.

Their next league match was against Spree City, but before that, they had a match outside the league matches.

The Europa conference League qualifiers had kicked off and they had a match coming up on Friday so they had four days to prepare for the match.

They were going to be traveling to St. Jacob-Park, Switzerland to face off against FC Basel in the first leg of Europa Conference League qualifiers.

The match was on Friday the thirty-first of October, the last day of October so they had to leave for Switzerland on Thursday evening but before that, they had a couple of days off to relax and do anything as long as it wasn't something stupid.

It was Sunday, so Dave was home and so was Emma who had been acting grumpy all morning and the goalkeeper was doing his best to avoid getting on her nerves.

Dave was busy relaxing on the couch in the living room with a drink when she slowly walked out of the kitchen, and she still had that pissed-off look on her face.

"I'm going upstairs." She said before turning to the staircase.

"You better do." The goalkeeper said before taking a sip from his drink.

"What was that?" She said before she stopped moving and quickly shot a glare at him.

"Nothing." He said so abruptly that he almost choked on his drink.

She kept her gaze on him for a while before she turned and continued her walk upstairs.

"That was close." The goalkeeper said before letting out a deep sigh.

'She gets irritated by even the most insignificant things I do these days.'

<You're lucky she's not like this when she's normal>

'Huh?'

<I'm just saying you two would have never gotten married if she was like this naturally, this relationship would have been over a long time ago>

'Hey, don't say things like that.'

<It doesn't matter if I say it or not, it's the simple truth. You're quite lucky to find someone like her, tolerant people are really hard to come by as you saw with your father, the management board, and most of your teammates back then>

'Yeah, I guess you're right, and now that you put it that way, I don't think I would have blamed her if it did turn out that way.'

<You don't have any reason to>

"But, I'm glad it didn't end up that way." He said with a cheerful voice before springing up from the couch.

He quickly took down the contents remaining in the glass and dropped it on the table before quickly making his way upstairs.

After getting upstairs, he made his way to the room where he found Emma lying on the bed going through her phone with that moody expression still on her face.

She noticed him enter the room and slowly turned her gaze to him before she turned it back to her phone and continued doing what she was doing.

'Ignoring me won't make me go away.'

"Hey, there." He said before jumping on the bed to get her reaction.

He expected a glare or some yelling but there was absolutely no reaction from her.

'Okay, this has entered a whole different phase.'

He had to take her phone from her to get her reaction, and it wasn't a cool away.

"I'm going to bite you if you don't give that back now." She said, glaring at him.

"Bite me?" He said before bursting into a feat of laughter. "Okay, why don't you come try it?"

"Give it back."

She stretched both of her her hands to take the phone, and that was when he got the chance to pull her down on his legs while holding both of her hands.

"Good." He said before pulling his face closer to hers.

"Good, I wonder what you're going to do now." She said imitating his voice.

He wanted to laugh but he had to hold it in to say what he wanted to say.

"You know, Sunday's the only day you really get to rest around here, so why don't we go out and go have some fun?" He said staring directly into her eyes.

"I took you long enough." She said before rolling her eyes.

"Huh?"

That response came as quite a shock to him.

"I said, it took you long enough." She said before crossing her arms.

"So, you wanted me to take you out all this while?"

"Of course, wasn't it obvious?" She asked.

"Not at all." He said as he shook his head. "I thought you were just unnecessarily angry just like the other times."

'So, there was a reason behind it after all.'

"Unnecessarily angry." She said as the expression on her face was slowly changing back to the way it was before now.

"Hey, hey, forget about that, just tell me where you want to go." He said with a nervous smile on his face.

After getting asked that question, she turned her gaze away from him to face the ceiling.

"Um...a nice and relaxing place like the beach." She said.

"The beach is okay." The goalkeeper said.

"No, it's not the beach." She said before shaking her head.

'You've got to be kidding me.'

"Then where? You just said the beach and immediately ruled it out after that."

"A nice and relaxing place like a spa, yeah a spa will be perfect." She said before quickly turning her gaze to him.

"Are you sure that's where you want to go?"

"Yeah." She replied.

"Alright then, a spa it is." The goalkeeper said before stepping down from the bed. "I need to go take care of something downstairs, get ready, I'll be back up soon."

She kept her gaze on him until he was out of the room before she turned to face the ceiling.

"There's no rush." She smiled before slowly closing her eyes.
