Chapter 115 The Dinner Party (02)

Ferran's home was simply breathtaking and exquisite, Dave didn't expect it to look like this, he was never expecting to see something like this.

He parked his car in a space by the side before making his way down the car at the same time as Ella.

The two looked around the area for a while before making their way toward the small path in between the swimming pools, the path that led to the spherical building.

"He has a nice place," Emma said before turning her gaze to the swimming pool on the right.

"Yeah, a really nice place," Dave said.

Before the two could get to the building, the door was pushed open for Ferran to come out to welcome them.

"Hey." He said with a smile on his face as soon as he spotted them.

"How're you doing?" Dave asked before shaking hands with him and bumping shoulders with him.

"As you can see, I look okay," Ferran said. "You look okay too." He added before turning his gaze to Emma.

"Hi." She said,

"You look good too." The midfielder said before offering his hand for a handshake. "You look stunning."

"Thank you," Emma said before accepting his handshake.

"Over here." He said before making his way into the house for them to follow him.

Entering what they expected to be the living room, they could see that it was an entirely empty space that looked like a basketball court only that there were no nets.

"This is my training space." The midfielder said as he walked toward the only door apart from the exit door in the area.

"Training space?" Dave said.

"Yeah, I like to do most of my training inside so I do it here." He said.

"Oh, I see." The goalkeeper said with a nod.

"But it looks like it's going to serve as the space for our dinner party tonight, we were just about to set up the table before you guys arrived," Ferran said.

"You and your wife," Emma said.

Ferran turned to her and smiled before saying, "I'm not married."

"Your girlfriend?" She said,

"I don't have a girlfriend either." The midfielder said.

"Then who are you talking about?" Dave asked.

As soon as he asked that question, the door was opened for Mateo to walk into the room with a white tablecloth in his hand.

"Is this one good?" Mateo said before spotting Dave and his sister. "Hey, sis."

"I was talking about him," Ferran said.

"You're already here," Dave said, walking closer to the winger.

"Yeah, he arrived about thirty minutes ago," Ferran said.

"I didn't see your car," Emma said, looking at her brother.

"That's because it's parked at the back," Mateo said.

"Oh." She said,

"Are we the only ones here or are there others inside waiting to surprise us?" Dave asked.

"No, you guys are the second to arrive after him," Ferran said before pointing at Mateo.

"Yeah, so is this tablecloth okay?" The winger asked, raising the white tablecloth.

"Yeah," Ferran said with a nod.

"Okay." The winger said before opening the door and pulling out the long table. "The chef's almost done." He added before dropping the tablecloth on the table.

"Good."

"So, when are the others arriving?" Dave asked.

"Soon." The midfielder said before making his way toward the door leading to his living room and the main part of his house. "You two can follow me if you need somewhere to sit down for a few minutes before we get everything set up."

It didn't take long for them to get everything set up and that was because Dave and Emma had decided to give them a hand.

The long table was dropped in the middle of the large room with different kinds of delicacies on it and four bottles of wine in the middle beside the whole grilled chicken.

There were about eight fifteen seats set up around the table which made Dave wonder if Ferran had invited as many of their teammates as he claimed.

"I think we're set," Ferran said, rubbing his hands together.

It didn't take long before the other players arrived but there weren't as many as Dave expected.

It was just Merino who came alone, Minino with his girlfriend, Edward with his girlfriend, Adolf with his wife, and Pirlo with his wife.

"Is this everyone or are the other ones still on the way?" Dave asked a few minutes after they all sat down to eat.

"Probably still on the way," Mateo said.

"Yeah," Ferran said.

After a few minutes of talking and getting to know each other, no other person had arrived and checking his watch, the goalkeeper could see that there were only five minutes left before the time hit 8:00 PM.

"So, you're a reporter." Adolf's wife Amaya said with her gaze on Emma.

"Yeah, a sports reporter," Emma said with a nod.

"That's nice."

"That reminds me," Mateo said, turning his gaze to his big sister. "I saw your article, the one in which you Nicknamed your boyfriend Ball Magnet."

"Yeah, is there anything wrong with that?" Emma asked.

"No, nothing's wrong with that, I love the nickname." The winger said, shaking his head. "I just hope I also get a cool nickname soon."

"I'll think about it." She said with a cheeky smile on her face.

"Are the others no longer coming?" Dave asked, looking at Ferran.

"I don't know, none of them have called or texted me to tell me anything," Ferran said.

"Maybe, they're having some kind of delay or something," Emma said. "I don't think it's too late for them to still make it."

"Yeah," Merino said.

"Did you invite Fredinho?" Dave asked with his gaze still on Ferran.

"Umm...Yeah." The midfielder said with a nod.

"Okay," Dave said before picking up his phone.

"I have to say, Ferran, this dinner party is a really good idea for team bonding," Edward said. "And the food's good too." He added before putting a piece of steak in his mouth.

Dave had his attention on his phone now as he seemed to be typing something and after a few minutes of concentrating on his phone, he let out an inward sigh.

<I thought he said yes>

'I think I'll stop asking about the others for now.' He said subconsciously before putting his phone in his pocket.

They continued talking about what they were talking about, which focused mainly on things happening around Bilbeth until Ferran heard a beep come from his phone and quickly picked it up.

"Oh, no." The midfielder said as he stared at the screen of his phone's screen with a horrid look on his face.

"What's the problem?" Amaya asked but there was no response from Ferran who still had his gaze on his phone's screen.

"What's wrong Ferran?" Dave asked.

"Ferran!" Mateo called.

"It's only been ten minutes since the match kicked off and Lesica United are already two goals ahead of Razid FC." The midfielder revealed.

"Two goals?" Adolf said with a shocked expression on his face.

"Who are the scorers?" Mateo asked.

"You mean scorer because both goals were scored by Okafor," Ferran said.

"He's back from injury?" Pirlo said.

"Yeah," Ferran said with a nod.
