Chapter 296 296: Tryst Academy

Tryst Academy

"This academy is bigger than I thought though it shouldn't be that much of a surprise considering that the City of Hope prioritizes the growth of their mages" a young man commented as he stared at the gates of the Tryst Academy

This young man is naturally Rezen. He was riding on a flying stick just like most of the people around him

When moving inside the city, mages like to use their flying sticks and even Rezen was the same though he could only use his flying sticks when he is inside the 'safe zones'

Once he entered a resource point it was risky to use a flying stick since you'll never know when you would be attacked. Most people could react to sudden threats better when their feet are touching the ground rather than when they are floating

"Since my girlfriend is the Headmaster and the ruler of the academy does this mean that I could do everything I want inside? Hehehe, I can already imagine the faces of these arrogant city people when they want to bully me but are unable to do so thanks to my backing!"

On Rezen's side was none other than Treen that was already scheming against his future classmates

Even though the city is starting to integrate tribal people the discrimination is still strong and rampant. Fortunately, unless others knew of their identity, they wouldn't necessarily know whether a person grew up in the city or came from the scattered tribes

"Take it easy. Don't let others bully you but also don't make enemies" Rezen suggested

If other people hate you then you must teach them a lesson but at the same time it was better to have many friends than many enemies

"I know, I know. Anyway, good luck with your admission test though with our connection you will surely pass. Hurray to what's that term again?"

"Nepotism"

"Ah, yes, nepotism. Hurray to nepotism!"

Rezen can only shake his head. This sugar-baby friend of his does not need to take the admission test to be accepted by the academy. Not to mention he could even stroll confidently inside the academy as he is equivalent to the academy's 'mistress'

After admiring the academy for a while, the two went to the side of the academy gates where a booth could be seen

There were many people falling in line at that booth and Rezen was about to head to the back of the line when Treen confidently dragged him to the very front of the line

"Huh? What are they doing?"

"Are they trying to cut the line?"

"Look at them, their clothes are shabby. I can't believe people as unimportant as them have the guts to cut in line"

The other students that were registering themselves for the admission test were infuriated because of Treen and Rezen's action

With the quality of their clothes and flying sticks, most of the mages in the line judged that they are more well-off than them. As such, they didn't take their actions lightly

There was even one woman on the line that stepped out to stop them

"Stop! What are you doing? Can't you see the line? If you want to register go to the very back!" The girl said in an unfriendly manner and as if Treen already expected that he smiled cheekily

"I have a bad feeling"

It didn't take that long before Rezen's intuition was proven correct as Treen proudly puffed out his chest

He waved his hand and what looks like a pink gemstone appeared. In the middle of that gemstone was a red heart and anyone that planned to enter Tryst Academy knows what that symbol is

That was a symbol associated with Tryst Academy!

However, although that is the case, the girl along with the other people in line doesn't know what the gemstone with a heart-shape symbol represents

"What's that? Are you retarded? Go to the back of the line!" The girl said irritably and she even slapped the gemstone from Treen's hand

Instead of being offended, Treen merely smiled deviously

"Watch this Rezen. This is our revenge for the discrimination that we experienced!" Treen whispered to Rezen that raises his brows

"How dare you!"

The academy staff at the front of the booth shouted and the ground below the girl moved

The ground looks like it was swallowing the girl as it climbed from her feet until it reaches her neck

"Honorable Guest, I apologize for her rudeness. I will make sure that she will not be admitted to Trsyt Academy" The mage that is definitely stronger than both Rezen and Treen combined apologizes profusely. He even retrieved the gemstone from the ground and gave it back to Treen

"Y-you... what are you doing! You can't do this to me!" The poor girl shouted angrily at the humiliation and the staff glared at him

"Shut up! Don't you know what this gemstone represents as an aspiring student of Tryst Academy? This is a token of honor and everyone that possesses it must be treated by everyone in the Academy with respect. The token is something that only the Headmaster could give!"

The Headmaster! That's a high-cycle Senior Mage. Even mages like that could have a name for themselves inside the inner walls of the city much less inside the outer walls

They are second only to Great Mages which are the strongest fighting force of the city. They are elites and are not people that could be easily disregarded

As such, the girl was immediately terrified after hearing that. Even inside the inner walls where mages are far stronger than the ones in the outer walls they could still be Elders of the academies

To think that she offended someone that has such a strong connection. Just how stupid was she?

"I-I'm s-sorry e-esteemed sir. I-I was w-wrong!" The girl fearfully apologizes for her mistake

"Shut up! Get out of here now, you are not welcome!" The staff said while canceling his magic and freeing the poor girl

"That's not necessary. Don't disqualify her. I was also in the wrong for cutting in line" Treen magnanimously said causing the staff to shake his head

"N-no! It was right for Honorable Guests of the Academy to be given direct entry. There is no need for someone like you to wait in line!"

"Ah, is that so? But I'm actually a new student at the academy. If I don't wait in line like the others then my future schoolmates might not take that kindly and talk behind that back"

The staff didn't expect that a person possessing the Headmaster's token is actually a new student though now that he thinks of it Treen's cultivation rank was actually low. Even then, this is not something that someone like him could question and he just has to do the bidding of the higher-ups. He was not stupid and he understand what Treen wants to gain by doing this

The staff immediately turned his head to the potential students and most of them lowered their heads. Many of them spoke nasty things earlier and they are afraid that they would be disqualified before they could even take the test

A second-rate academy after all is an extremely prestigious academy for people living inside the outer walls. These academies are the best that they could be admitted in if the academies in the inner and core walls are not included. None of them wants to lose their chance

"This Sir right here possesses the token of the Headmaster. Even the instructors must treat him with respect. As such, I expect that those that will pass the test will treat him kindly! Absolutely no talking behind his back. Don't say that I didn't warn you if you were expelled from the academy!"

What could the aspiring students do aside from nodding their heads and agreeing?

"Wow... this guy is smarter than I thought. He already established his might even before entering the academy but could he really do this? Is it alright for him to flaunt his connections like that?"

Rezen has a renewed view of Treen. Turns out this guy was actually shrewd. To think that he would use this chance to establish himself and show how much influence he has so that no one could take him lightly
