Seeing that Yvter is still consumed by rage and really planned on killing Rezen, Jenna is forced to control her spell further

The water tentacle pulled Yvter and threw him at the opposite side of Rezen to make sure that he wouldn't be able to hurt the latter again

The magic fluctuations didn't escape the tribesmen's senses. It was common for the tribe to be attacked by magic beasts, some of which has great sneaking skills

As such, they are quite sensitive whenever they sensed magic fluctuations inside the tribe. They always assumed for the worst and thinks that a magic beast was able to sneak in and hurt their family

It didn't take that long before the tribesmen gathered outside Rezen's hut with some of them peeking inside to check what was happening

"Yvter, stop! Rezen is our tribe's healer! Have you lost your mind already?! What do you think you are doing?!" Jenna said angrily. She knew that Yvter has a bad personality but she didn't expect that he would do something like this

Just how valuable Rezen is? Even if their theory that he came from a big tribe is not true, Rezen is still a very valuable healer. The only healer of the tribe!

If not for Rezen's special circumstance, a measly tribe such as the Waterside Tribe definitely wouldn't have any healer

While Rezen doesn't have any fighting ability, his healing skill is more than enough for him to be worthy of the tribe's protection

He has already proven his capabilities to heal and he even taught the tribe how to eat the potatoes they thought are inedible!

The tribe should be thankful to Rezen and not mistreat him like this

"It's that bastard's fault! He—" Yvter was about to speak about what happened when they heard Rezen's voice

"N-no... the m-medicines... i-it's for the tribe!" Rezen said as he tried to salvage the medicines while holding his still aching chest

He was hit by the spell and while he didn't die on the spot, he was still pretty injured. However, his outburst is bound to have some serious consequence if he doesn't do something

At the end of the day, he is still an outsider that has to create a persona to blend in. If he were to do something out of character, while most tribesmen wouldn't think much about it, some of them would still find him suspicious, especially the Chief

What Rezen has to do now is to once again act and turn the tides in his favor and the easiest way to do that is to show that he genuinely cares for the tribe

Even a Junior Mage of the tribe is soon no different than being banished for killing a fellow tribesman. It could be seen how tight the relationship between the tribesmen are

What Rezen has to do is to appeal to the tribe's sense of collectiveness

"What's happening here... wait, Rezen, what happened? Who hurt you?!" Rezen's neighbor - Treen spoke out of worry as soon as he saw Rezen on the floor clutching his chest with blood on his lips while trying to salvage the medicine on the floor

Treen immediately went to Rezen's side to check up on him and in return, Rezen cough

Since his injury was pretty heavy, even a simple cough caused blood to spat out of his mouth

"Rezen, what happened?"

"Why are you injured?"

"Was there a magic beast that attacks you?"

The other tribesmen that saw the situation spoke out of worry and they all wait for Rezen to answer

However, instead of answering him directly, Rezen merely glanced at Yvter that had a bad feeling about this

"I-I know that cough! Cough! Y-you don't like me b-but the medicines are for t-the tribe. W-we can't w-waste them as they can save l-lives!" Rezen said with a tone of sadness and all eyes turned to look at Yvter

Could it be...

Almost instantly, the eyes staring at Yvter turned hostile. Here is an outsider that cared for the tribe so much that despite his injuries, he still tried to save the medicines while the person that grew up in the tribe decided to waste precious medicines all because he don't like someone

"Y-you... you were the one that punched me first! What the fuck are you saying!" Yvter spoke loudly, his cheeks red in rage, and only now did the tribesmen notice that one side of his cheek was actually a bit swollen

"I-I was just trying to protect the medicines..." Rezen replied, his head hanging low

His actions made the tribesmen think that he was ashamed of what he had done but at the same time, it was a necessity as he wanted to keep the precious medicines safe

No matter who looks at the situation, they would see that Yvter's situation is not looking good

"No matter how you two don't like each other, to think that you would waste the medicines in a pointless squabble. Do you wish for the tribe to die?"

This time, it was the Chief that spoke and everyone gave way to her. Her words put the blame on both Rezen and Yvter

No matter what, Yvter is still someone that grew up in the tribe while the Chief is still suspicious of Rezen

Unfortunately, while Rezen is no expert, he still has a great grasp of the human heart

"I-it was my f-fault, Chief. Yvter asked for m-medicines but since I was creating a beast-repelling powder that c-could prevent most Junior Rank beasts from a-approaching the tribe, I-I asked him to get the medicines himself despite his injured shoulder. I-I'll start m-making m-medicines again. I-I promise that I would be able to h-heal everyone again soon"

With Rezen's explanation, the tides have further moved in his favor. Everyone saw him trying to stand to make medicines again even though he was still injured

His actions touched the tribesmen's hearts. Look at him! He is not taking care of his own injuries and instead is worried for the tribe's overall well-being first. With how much he cares for the tribe, people would think that he was the one that grew up with them

"Rezen, don't move too much yet. You have to rest!"

"Right! You were not the one that wasted the medicines. Why don't we ask the one that did to remake them?"

"Your health is more important, Rezen. It's not late to make medicines after you recover!"

The tribesmen showed their support and care for Rezen while ignoring Yvter. Some even insulted him outright

Due to the nature of the tribe's culture, most of them have sharp tongues and there was almost no concept of putting up faces

Not to mention, Yvter is just an apprentice mage just like most of them. He was not someone so important or powerful that the tribesmen would care about his feelings

Besides, some of them already don't like Yvter because of his nasty personality. This situation just made them dislike him more

"Y-you all!" Yvter gritted his teeth. He didn't expect that the people he considered his family would actually take the side of the outsider rather than his

This infuriated him so much that if not for Jenna pulling him, he might have attacked them on the spot already

"That's enough. Go back to your lives. Jenna, take Yvter back to his hut" the Chief ordered and no one dared to disobey her

After the tribesmen gave Rezen their caring words, they dispersed until only Rezen was left inside

"You are good, really good" the Chief said as she uses the wand that never left her side

With a wave of her wand, a barrier covered Rezen from head to toe and he felt like if the Chief wished to, she could crush him to death

"You are not to sow discord in my tribe. Do you understand that?" The Chief said with a threatening tone

"I know that you are not this kind or meek. Your acting wouldn't work on me" she continued while staring at Rezen sharply

Sniff...

The Chief thought that Rezen would show his true color but instead of doing so, he actually started crying like a kid

"I-I'm sorry... I-I'm sorry huhu... i-it was not my intention..." Rezen apologizes while crying

If he were to show his true color now, the Chief would just be warier of him. He doesn't think that the Chief would really kill him for various reasons and there is little risk in continuing his act

The Chief doesn't know whether Rezen was acting or not but there is still a chance that Rezen has come from a prominent tribe and she can't push him much

"Nevermind, just do your best to get along with the tribe" the Chief said before leaving Rezen alone

She wanted to threaten Rezen to force him to reveal his true self but Rezen is a tough nut to crack
