Chapter 607 - A woman's heart is tender

Yun Xuan widened her eyes. How strange... 

Although they were not close to begin with, he was at least friendly to her. Such a sharp reaction was uncalled for. 

However, he had just woken up from coma and might need time to adjust to his sorroundings, so she didn't think too much about it. 

She retreated and took her curious son from the sofa, hugging him. 

After thinking for a while, she spoke again. "There's a food flask and fruits in the bag. You should..." 

"Take it away." He interrupted before she completed her statement. 

"What?" 

"Do I need to repeat my words?" 

Yun Xuan wasn't so shocked a while ago but now she was. "What's wrong with you?" 

"Why are you suddenly so rude?" 

"Heh." A cold chuckle filled the room. The man didn't turn even once. 

"I didn't know Miss Yun was capable of pestering people. What do you want from me?" 

Yun Xuan was getting more shocked by the second. Had his head been knocked a little too hard? "Nothing. I don't want anything from you." 

"Then why the hell are you still here, huh? " He sounded so rude that if the voice wasn't the same one she was familiar with, she would have sworn that he was an impostor.

Yun Xuan didn't want to hear his weird words anymore. She turned to leave. 

At the door, she ran into Lin Lihua. However, she didn't stop to say hi. She was so upset that she regarded Lin Lihua as part of the air and sauntered away. 

Lin Lihua looked at her retreating back and raised an eyebrow curiously before entering the hospital room. 

"Xuanxuan doesn't look happy."  

She placed the fruits and flowers that she had brought onto the table and walked over to him. "Did you say something mean to her?" 

Lin Ye finally shifted his position, struggling to turn around and sit on the bed properly. He couldn't move his knees downwards, so he pinned his hands onto his sides and used their support to swing. 

"I couldn't move her heart when I was handsome. How can she even look at me now?" Bitterness was apparent in his tone. "I would rather keep her away than watch her look down on me now." 

Lin Lihua stopped in her tracks. This man...  

Is that why he sent Yun Xuan away?

In actual fact, the doctors had already explained that his legs had been affected from the accident.  They had stated that it would take time to recover but if he maintained the treatment plan, he would not be permanently disabled. 

As for his eyes, they only knew that his optical nerves may have experienced trauma, but it would be too dangerous to do a surgery for the sake of finding out. The only safe way to be sure was to let him wake up. Contrary to what they all hoped for, he was really blind. 

"Lin Ye, the doctor said it's temporary. Your legs may recover soon and so will your eyes." 

"Or they may not recover at all." Lin Ye interrupted. 

Lin Lihua was almost rendered speechless. Logically he was right, but... "Haven't you always been positive about everything? Why are you so pessimistic this time? 

Sigh, forget it. I don't know what to say about you. You have loved a woman for many years and tried all your means to get close to her and just when she's starting to care about you, you push her away? Do you know who has taken care of you these two months? Do you know that she would be here every day, talking to you? One time, I found her kneeling beside your bed, singing and caressing your hand. It was quite heartbreaking to watch. Do you have to be so mean to her?" 

"Do I need to repeat my own words?" 

"Fine I get it. You are scared she will look down on you. But what if she doesn't?" 

Lin Lihua really wanted to knock some sense into his head. "She knew that you might not be able to walk again. She also knew that you might be blind. However, she didn't stop coming to check on you every day. Your action was really unfair." 

The man listened as Lin Lihua rattled on. 

"Lin Ye, a woman's heart is tender. She might fall in love with you no matter what you think of yourself. Actually, she has been happing on about how kind and gentle you are, and how you don't deserve such an ordeal. I think you stand a chance." 

In the end, he let out a sigh. "Even if she will not look down on me, she deserves a complete man. 

A man like me doesn't have the right to get close to her." 

"Lin Ye, do you want to be beaten up so badly?" Lin Lihua was defeated.

"Fine. I will let you sink into your own darkness. Don't blame the heavens for not giving you a chance."

Although he couldn't see her, he knew that she had turned to leave. Perhaps his other senses had become more accurate since he couldn't see. "Lihua, help me apologize to her." 

Lin Lihua stopped in her tracks, a tiny smile almost surfacing. "Help you? Dream on. I will call her here and you will apologize on your own. But I cannot guarantee that she will be willing to come after being treated so rudely." 

Lin Ye gritted his teeth. "Fine."

Yun Xuan had left the bag of food and fruits in the hospital room. He had asked her to take it away but what if he was hungry later? 

Urgh, fine. That was just an excuse.

She knew that she had put all her heart into cooking for him. It would be such a shame if he didn't even have a taste of it. Ultimately, she was simply being selfish.

No matter how much she thought about it, Yun Xuan couldn't comprehend just why he had acted the way he did. 

Was he so displeased by her presence? Was it because the first thing she did was probe into his privacy? 

Most importantly, why did she feel so sad?
