Chapter 599 - Is this how you take care of a child?

For years, Yun Xuan felt she possessed the worst luck ever. 

First, her biological mother simply vanished. 

She got adopted by the Yun family, but what she felt was hatred from her eldest and third foster brothers. 

The only people who liked her were her second brother and her father. 

Just when she had grown so attached to them that she couldn't bear to part, she realized that they were not what she had always thought them to be. 

They actually turned out to be a pair of wanted criminals with countless records of unforgivable sins... 

As for her luck in romance, it wasn't any better. 

Her first love, the childhood sweetheart she had loved so much, betrayed her. 

When he found out about her father's crimes, he intended to kill her. 

That was where her second love came in. It was all a plot for him to 'save' her from the flames, meet by chance later and fall in love. She naively thought that they were truly in love. She had loved him more than anyone.

Little did she know that he was only with her for a reason...

And that reason was revenge. 

With a broken heart and a wounded soul, she left the country to start over on her own. 

She was initially all on her own, 

But at least something good came out of it. 

No, to be exact, a little devil came out of it. 

"Yun Feng!" 

"Baby, I'm home." 

Yun Xuan was in the nursery,  trying to find her son. She had gone to have a word with her boss today and left the little devil in the nanny's care.

Every time she left him at home, she would find him sprawled on the carpet, sleeping or cruising his toy cars around the house like they were actual cars. If not, he would be watching kids shows with the nanny she had hired for him in the living room. 

But today, he was doing neither of that. 

"Perhaps they are watching the stars on the balcony?" 

She put aside the new toys and candies she had bought him and opened the door leading to the balcony. 

"Baby..." 

They were not here either. 

"Coletta?" 

*Coletta was the nanny she had hired to take care of Yun Feng. 

"Miss, you called for me." The girl ran over, bowing her head. 

Yun Xuan frowned when she didn't see the little boy in her arms. "Where is the little master?" 

"Little master..." Coletta looked over at the little boy's bed and was shocked when she didn't see any sign of him. "He was asleep when I left him." 

Yun Xuan's heart skipped a beat. "What do you mean you left him? Didn't I say you can't leave him on his own?" 

Heaven knew how naughty that tiny boy was. He would stir up trouble if left unattended. 

"Miss... sorry, I..." 

Yun Xuan didn't have the patience to listen to her right now. 

She ran out of the room, opening the door to every room and searching anxiously. 

How could a one year old disappear? 

"Feng, there you are!" Yun Xuan finally saw the little devil that had made her heart race. He was in the kitchen, cruising his favorite blue toy car on the floor. A tiny superhero figurine lay on the floor, he must have brought it to play with. 

He sneezed, rubbed his eyes and continued making engine sounds, nothing affecting his little world. 

He was surprised when his mother suddenly scooped him up, hugging him frantically. 

He frowned and stirred in her arms, his eyes quickly welling up. Mommy let go of me. I want to play! He looked so furious he could throw a fit.

Yun Xuan rubbed his back gently. "Let's go play in my room." 

When the boy calmed down, Yun Xuan shot Coletta a fierce glare. 

"I hired you to take care of my son. Is this how you take care of a baby? By letting him walk down the stairs on his own and go to such dangerous places as the kitchen? 

What if he played with a knife? What if something spilled on him? What if he caught a cold by sitting on the icy floor?" 

The thought of him going downstairs on his own made her heart go cold in fear. He was still too young! His walking was not even stable yet. How could he possibly walk down the stairs without falling?

Thinking about it, she anxiously checked him all over, afraid there were hidden injuries on his small body. 

Coletta trembled as she explained nervously. "Miss, I brought little master downstairs with me. I left him in the living room and went to do his laundry." 

Yun Xuan was successfully pissed off. 

"Earlier you said you had left him in the nursery and now it's in the living room? You don't even know where exactly you left him?" 

She didn't wait for any other explanation. "You are fired." 

"Miss..." 

"Coletta, don't make me lose my temper." 

The girl turned to leave after taking one last glance at the little devil. 

Yun Xuan glanced at her son who was looking at her curiously. He must have been frightened by her anxious actions. 

"Baby, mommy was worried about you." 

His response was a sneeze. 

Just great. 

He had only recently recovered from a flu. Now he was sneezing again? 

She went to her room, placed the boy on her bed and took her phone to call the nurse over. 

He hugged the tiny little devil, patting his back to calm her nerves. "Baby, I'm sorry. Mommy wasn't able to take good care of you." 

It was only because it would be troublesome for both of them. She would have brought him along to meet her boss, Lin Lihua. 

However, she still had to drop by the hospital afterwards. That kind of atmosphere wouldn't be good for babies. 

After settling things with Lin Lihua, she had gone over today to pay Lin Ye a visit. 

Speaking of Lin Ye, that was the former top designer of YX Brand, currently one of MAX Brand's precious gems. If meeting a few casual times could be considered friendship, they were friends. 

Two months ago, he had an accident and fell into a coma. He had no one to take care of him.
