Chapter 536 - Your mother is dead

Lu Aotian tapped her nose. "Do you think I'm that type of person?" 

Wan Jia averted her gaze. Luckily, he didn't take advantage of this sort of situation to force Lu Meili to quit the entertainment industry. That would be too heartless of him. 

"Go to sleep. I will talk to that family. In actual fact, Lu Meili cannot possibly be sued. She was drunk while the man... he tried to take advantage of a drunk woman. I should be the one suing him." 

Wan Jia hugged him. "Okay. Thank you." 

"You don't need to thank me. Meili is my daughter too." He wouldn't let them file a suit against her either.

As soon as they left East End bar, Katy had accompanied Lu Meili home, afraid that she would stess herself out too much if left on her own. At the same time, it was so that she would explain to Wan Jia and Lu Aotian what exactly had occured. It would be clearer if she said it since she was closer to Lu Meili when everything happened. 

When she was done explaining the matter to the Lu couple, she rushed to the Blanc villa. 

As soon as she got in, she saw Lin Lihua watching television in the living room. Tonight, Lu Meili had told her what to do if she wanted to ever get along with Lin Lihua. 

Hiding her nervousness, she went right to Lin Lihua's side and sat her backside next to her. "Hello mother, sorry I'm late. I was having a drink with Meili and lost track of time." 

Lin Lihua turned her head and looked at her. Was she so sleepy that she was starting to have weird dreams, or was Katy so drunk that she was acting weird? What did she just call her?

Just as Lu Meili predicted, Lin Lihua wasn't used to being called 'mother' by her. She looked shocked.

Katy Blanc stood up. "I'll go to sleep now. Goodnight mother." 

Lin Lihua finally had a reaction. "Who are you calling 'mother'? Did you have too much to drink?" 

Katy Blanc turned around with an innocent smile. "I'm your daughter. Of cause I will call you mother. What, you adopted me, and now you want to disown me?" 

Lin Lihua continued watching the television drama she was watching, unwilling to look at Katy. 

There was nothing wrong with what Katy was saying. When Amy died, Henry Blanc decided to adopt his niece and make her his legal daughter. However, a married man couldn't possibly adopt a child on his own. Paired with the fact that she still liked Katy back then, she had signed the adoption documents along with him.

Katy seemed to be using this to get under her skin now.

The 'innocent' Katy smiled and took a few steps foward, then turned back. "Mother, you shouldn't go to bed too late. It is not good for your health and your skin."

Lin Lihua remained silent, but someone else spoke. "She is not your mother." 

Ruoxi had arrived much earlier, terribly angry after being stood up by Lu Meili.

She walked right to Katy Blanc. "She is not your mother. She never will be. Your mother is dead." 

"You..." Katy clenched her fists. 

"Ruoxi!" A voice scolded. "How dare you?! You... you have crossed the line." 

Any normal person would have such a reaction. Everyone knew how painful Amy's death had been to Katy, especially since she was murdered so brutally. How could Ruoxi say such a thing? 

Henry Blanc would have kept quiet about anything else, but how dare this girl say such a thing to Katy? He glared at Ruoxi furiously. 

Realization downed on Ruoxi. Because she had seen Katy trying to suck up to Lin Lihua, she was in panic. She had said this to infuriate Katy and make the latter fight her, but she forgot all about Lin Lihua's presence. 

She only remembered this belatedly. In panic, she rushed to her, crying pitifully. "Mom, I didn't mean to say such a thing. I was just scared when she was so close to you. Who knows what her intention is? Mom, I really didn't mean to." 

Katy Blanc was the one who panicked this time. Oh no... if Lin Lihua listened to Ruoxi, Lin Lihua would dislike her even more. She clenched her fists. 

Henry Blanc felt helpless too. To Lin Lihua, Ruoxi was everything. How could she possibly listen to him and Katy? 

Under the anticipating gaze of Ruoxi and the nervous gazes of Katy and Henry Blanc, Lin Lihua stood up. "What Ruoxi said is true." 

Katy Blanc bit her lip to stop terrible words from leaving her mouth. 

Lin Lihua looked at Ruoxi. She looked angry. "However, you still don't have a right to bring up the painful past of anyone. Not even if you think that person has evil intentions." 

Katy was shocked speechless. She was reprimanding Ruoxi? 

Ruoxi grabbed her hand and looked like she was trying to find security at her side. "I will not do it again." 

Lin Lihua patted her head. "Don't you have something to say to Katy? Go on." 

Katy was even more shocked. She exchanged a glance with the equally dumbfounded Henry Blanc. She was making Ruoxi apologize? 

Ruoxi really wanted to die. She would never apologize to that b*tch! No way! "Mom..." 

Katy grabbed this chance. "Mo... aunty, don't stress too much about it. Sister didn't mean it. She must have just spoken thoughtlessly. Right Sis?" 

Although this was what she said, her eyes looked moist. She clenched her lips into a tight line and left the living room. Her little frame emitted a lonely and pitiful aura.

Henry Blanc glanced at Lin Lihua and followed Katy upstairs.
