Chapter 521 - They didn't understand her

Name:My Beautiful Love Author:Avalorian_
Lin Lihua studied her niece's expression. Was she disapointed that Katy had wronged her, or was she in denial?

"She really didn't? Why would you think that she did anyway?"

Katy Blanc had just left her room, intending to follow Lu Meili. She overhead Lin Lihua's words just as she arrived.

"Aunt, I really didn't. Meili must have misunderstood something." Although what Lu Meili said did not accuse her of anything, she knew that the girl didn't actually trust her. Is she did, qhe wouldn't have looked at her with that hateful expression.

Lu Meili knew that if she produced the evidence she had in their presence, Henry Blanc and Lin Lihua would definitely punish Katy.

If she had indeed framed her, she would have deserved it. However, she was not entirely sure about it herself. What if it was really a misunderstanding? It would be best if they sorted it out personally.

"Aunty, it's just a speculation. Someone could be trying to frame Sis Katy and drive us apart."

Lin Lihua thought it made sense. "Don't worry too much about it. I will help you investigate it.  But, I don't think Katy is capable of doing that sort of thing."

Although that was what she said, she still gave Katy Blanc a stern gaze. If she did anything to wrong Lu Meili, she wouldn't be very friendly.

As soon as Lu Meili left, Katy looked at Lin Lihua nervously. "Aunt, you really trust me?"

"No." Lin Lihua's answer was as heartless as could be.

Katy's heart shattered. "Oh..."

Lin Lihua continued. "However, I will not refute logic simply because I don't trust you."

Lately, Katy had been framed very many times. She was under the impression that this was just one of those times.

Katy went back to her room. It was all her fault that her aunt would never trust her.

...

By the time Lu Meili reached Villa number 4, she was no longer sad. That was the nature of her temper. She was just like a clueless little child- her anger only lasted a moment. The next moment, she would be smiling about like nothing happened.

"Meili, do you have any plans tonight?" Lu Aotian asked from the sofa in the living room. He was reading a magazine and only needed to hear footsteps to know who had come in.

Lu Meili walked over to him. "I don't have any particular plans."

He glanced at her and picked a box from beside him, giving it to her. "This evening, I want you to accompany me to a banquet."

Lu Meili understood what he meant. The box probably contained the gown he wanted her to wear to the banquet.

She took it, wondering just what he was planning. She was an actress. Didn't he know that if she ever appeared anywhere with him, her background would be revealed?

It was already too much of a coincidence that she looked so much like Wan Jia. Since she decided to hide her background, there was no past news of her. Everything that the public knew about her when she was a child had been long forgotten by now. If she went to any banquet with either Wan Jia or Lu Aotian, even a fool with no brain would guess that she was Wan Jia's daughter.

As though reading her mind, Lu Aotian peeked at her. "Don't worry. None of my friends would dare to say anything that would make your whereabouts known to the outside world."

"Yes daddy." Lu Meili thanked him for the gown and went to her room. Her father was so considerate.

As soon as Lu Meili left, Lu Aotian looked at his second daughter who was holding a business magazine some distance from him. "What do you want?"

Lu Xian Li looked at him from above the magazine. "Daddy, are you speaking to me? I'm simply reading my magazine and don't need anything."

The corner of Lu Aotian's lips twitched. "I didn't know you have the ability to read magazines upside down and at the same time gawk at your father the whole time."

Lu Xian Li felt embarassed. She had been discovered? Did her father have an extra pair of eyes on his head? It was quite strange that he had seen her sneaking peeks at him. Actually, she had come to the living room to check out his mood.

Now that she had been found out and since Lu Aotian seemed to be in a good mood, she braved it. "Daddy, I want to go to Country G to further my studies. Can I?"

Lu Aotian was taken aback. But compared to Lu Xian Li's other requests, this was almost nothing in comparison. "Xian Li, you know that I would never agree to that."

Lu Xian Li rushed to his side. "I know. But can you at least try?"

"No. If you want to further your studies, do it in this city. There are many reputable universities here."

"Daddy, if you really care for my happiness..."

"This discussion is over." Lu Aotian dismissed her heartlessly.

To be exact, he was not being heartless. Xian Li had been born with a weak heart. Although nothing major had happened to her all these years, how could he bring himself to let her go so far away from home? The fact that she probably wanted to leave for two or three years did not make it any better. What if something happened to her while she was away from home?

Lu Xian Li felt disheartened. She picked her business magazine and left the living room. Her parents would never let her do as she pleased. They were her parents, but they never understood her. The worst thing is that... they never tried.
