Chapter 516 - The future Mrs. Xu

She left the house and gave someone a call. "Help me investigate something." 

"Say the word." 

"Someone forged my signature and signed a contract in my name."

"I'll be sure to help you find out who they are within two days." 

Two days? Lu Meili sighed. If only her dad could help her. He would have uncovered the culprit within thirty minutes. 

However, for the sake of being allowed to go into the entertainment industry, she had vowed to never ask for help from the Lu family. If she ever did, she would have to leave the entertainment industry and take over Lu Enterprises. 

Now she had to use the connections she had got over the years. 

When she was sure that this matter would be settled, she took off her high heeled sandles and changed into a more comfortable pair of shoes. 

"Honey, are you going somewhere? I just finished cooking food for you." Wan Jia said when she saw Lu Meili head towards the door. 

"Can I eat later? I won't be long." She was in a rush. If she ate right now, Xu Tang might be too busy. 

"You can eat quickly and go. Come on." 

Knowing that her mother had definitely prepared something delicious paired with the fact that she was hungry, she couldn't resist it.

The result was that by the time she got to Xu Corporation  building, Xu Tang had already started his meeting. She had to wait for three long hours before she was finally able to see him. 

However, he left the company building with a young woman in tow. It would be fine if it was another woman, but it just had to be the little actress who was rumored to have something going on with him. What was she doing in Xu Corporation? 

She tried to not lose her temper. "This is?" 

Xu Tang had a charming smile. "Our little angel Li is back. Annie, you already know Lu Meili. She is after all so famous that the whole world knows her. Meili, this is Annie Lan." 

Annie Lan stretched out her hand. "Hello, it's a pleasure to finally meet you in person. I'm Xu Tang's girlfriend, the future Mrs. Xu." 

"Annie, don't mess around." 

"You cannot be sure of the future you know." Annie Lan laughed.

Lu Meili noticed the defiance in her tone. She sounded like she had achieved something inexplicably great. She simply laughed it off. Although she had said that she was the future Mrs. Xu, Xu Tang had not confirmed their relationship. She chuckled. "Miss Annie is right. No one can predict the future. In fact, perhaps you are not even close to being considered Xu Tang's wife." 

Annie Lan did not want to ruin her image in Xu Tang's eyes. She could only bite her lip and feel wronged. 

"Annie, wait for me. I'll have a word with Meili first." 

As soon as Annie left, Lu Meili looked happier. 

"You don't like her?" Xu Tang had long noticed her displeasure regarding Annie's presence. 

"I wouldn't like her." Was there anyone who would like their love rival, especially one who deliberately rubbed in the fact that she was close to him? 

"Tangtang, what happened while I was filming in Country J? Look at you, you already found yourself a girlfriend?" 

Xu Tang chuckled. "Blame it on me for being very handsome. Women just can't help throwing themselves at me." 

Lu Meili jabbed him. "I'm being serious over here." 

"I'm being serious too. While you,  you don't look in good shape. Did something happen?" 

"Not exactly. Tangtang, let's go somewhere, okay?" 

Xu Tang helplessly let her drag him into her car. "Little Li, I'm already a grown man. You should stop calling me Tangtang. It sounds so childish." 

Lu Meili chuckled and stuffed him into the passenger seat, using the space above him to get into the driver's seat like a wild kitten.  "I want to call you Tangtang and so I will. What can you do about it? Bite me." 

She clutched her ear in the next instant and glared at him. "Hey! Are you a dog?" 

Xu Tang looked at her like he did nothing wrong. "You asked me to bite you, so I did. What, Did I do something wrong?" 

Lu Meili humphed. Who said Xu Tang was a mature young man? He was still as childish as he was twenty years ago. 

But she liked him this way regardless. To other people, he was truly mature. It was only in her presence that he was so playful that there was no trace of the serious businessman he was. 

"May I know where my Little Angel Li is taking me?" He asked when she drove for a while without saying a word. 

"You think I would sell you off? It's not like I would gain any profit from it."

"How are you not gaining any profit, huh? I'm so handsome."

"You and your looks. If I wanted to gain profit, I would sell myself instead. I'm the nation's little beauty after all." 

Xu Tang widened his eyes and flicked her forehead. "Lu Meili, how can a woman say such things?" 

Lu Meili rubbed the spot he had flicked in annoyance. "How many times must I tell you? Don't hit my head!" 

"You are speaking nonsense. Of course I will hit your head." 

"You are the one who started it. Just because I'm a woman, I cannot retaliate?"
