Chapter 486 - The dead tell no tales

Lin Lihua walked back to the living room. Doctor Qiao was waiting for her. "He will be fine. He is  just in shock." 

She gave Lin Lihua some fever medicines to give to him. 

When the man felt Lin Lihua's presence, he grabbed her hand. "Lihua," 

Doctor Qiao stood up. "I'll leave the both of you alone." 

When Doctor Qiao left, Lin Lihua made her husband stand and helped him to the master bedroom so he could rest. 

She pulled him into a sitting position and gave him a pill to ease his fever and a glass of water. When he had taken it, she pulled the covers over his body. "Rest for a while, okay?" 

He was not feeling as awful as he was when he had just recieved the news. However, the fever made him weak. "Lihua, I'm sorry." 

Without a doubt, she knew why he was apologizing. Earlier, he had began accusing her without asking for any explanation. Of course he had to be sorry. It was only the second day of their marriage. How could they start having disagreements this soon? 

She gave him a stern glance. "Have you started using your brain now?" 

Henry Blanc said nothing. Well, he was not using it earlier. He had no retaliation. 

"Henry Blanc, do you trust me?" 

The man remained silent, only nodding his head. She was his wife. If she did not trust her, who should he trust? 

Although she did not want to say this, she knew that she could not recklessly involve herself in such things without informing him. She could shoot herself in the foot if she was not careful enough. 

She looked at the man on the bed. "Have you..." she paused, her heart twitching. She was just about to ask him such a painful question but she had no choice. "Have you made sure that Amy is really..." 

"Dead? I have." He completed the statement she was unable to. "I only had someone investigate, but mother saw her body. I'll go to Country F in a few hours." 

Lin Lihua caught the main point. His mother...

That woman was quite untrustworthy. Why would he believe anything she said? 

However, she did not want to shoot her mouth off before she was sure about what she was going to say. One thing was for sure, however, Amy Blanc was most probably not dead. It was a lie that Mrs. Blanc cooked up so she could frame her. 

It was unbelievable that Amy Blanc who had decided to change for the better and had even acknowledged her mistakes was now taking part in this. Or could it be that she was being forced? 

"I'll go with you and help with the investigation." She said. She was going to make Xia Jing spit out everything. She was certain that the little bastard had called her to Country F for a reason. She did not find it strange at first but why did it have to be Country F? He could have fled to any other country. Why did he have to be in Country F?

She had to find out what exactly Mrs. Blanc had to do with this. 

However, what Henry Blanc said next gave her chills. "What more is there to investigate? Xia Jing is already dead." 

"What?" 

"He commited suicide after killing Amy." 

Lin Lihua sat back down in despair. The dead tell no tales. Xia Jing was the only one who would have told her the truth. But now he...

"Your mother..." has a role to play in this. 

She swallowed the rest of the words. It would only cause more trouble. 

"What about my mother?" 

"Is she alright? She must be very sad." 

Henry Blanc did not find anything wrong with what she was asking. 

"The main point here is Katy. She is very sad. Stay back and keep her company, okay?" 

In her rush to find the truth, she had forgotten this momentarily. "Alright. Take care of yourself." 

When that was settled, she let him sleep and walked out with her phone.

While walking runways and shooting movies in several countries, Lin Lihua had made several friends. 

Some of them were powerful figures in those countries, including Country F. 

Although the Blanc family was the absolute most powerful business family in the country, she had a few friends in the military and political families. 

She checked through her contacts and dialled a number. 

"Is Megastar Lin so free as to contact small fries like me lately?" The other party was in the mood to joke around. 

"Help me investigate someone, will you?" 

"Goddess Lin, don't worry about that. No matter who it is, just say their name. I will investigate their ancestors for you." 

"Since you are very willing, I will not be too polite. I want to be sure that Amy Blanc is really dead." 

The other party was quick to catch up. "You want me to check her DNA? Actually, getting her DNA should be no trouble for me. However, I will need the DNA of a family member to do the test. That is the hard part. Don't forget that this is the Blanc family." 

Lin Lihua scolded him as an idiot. "Do you forget who my husband is? Just get the DNA and I will handle the rest."

"I got it, Queen Lihua. I will be quick." 

Lin Lihua sighed in relief when the call was finally hung up. Those damn titles were killing her.
