Chapter 474 - Fit a filter into his brain

They watched Tyler leave, emitting an aura of dejection. 

To keep up their act to the end, they left the hotel still acting like a married couple by holding hands. 

Actually, such small actions meant nothing. 

However since they had pretended to be husband and wife and Yun Xuan had even pretended to be pregnant with his child, they looked madly in love. Of course, Lin Ye's gaze of deep love for her was evidently what made it even more believable. 

As they left, Lin Ye turned to look at Wan Jia secretly. The latter lifted one of her fair fingers towards him, to remind him that one hour was not yet over. He was not allowed to go back. 

He now understood what Wan Jia put him up to at that moment.

He had been so angry when he saw a man harassing his goddess that he did not think about it clearly. 

Now that he did, he wondered what exactly he would be doing with her all that time. 

The time taken to beat up Tyler and send him away could only add to ten minutes. He had around fifty minutes remaining. 

Was he supposed to use the remaining minutes to....woo her?

He shook his head. That was insane. She probably still viewed him as the employee she once had. If he told her about his feelings right now, it might come out as him using the fact that he helped her a moment ago to take advantage of her. If he screwed up right now, would she even ever spare him a glance?

As he thought about this, they were outside. 

Yun Xuan let go of his arm. "I'm so sorry I had to do that. Thank you for helping me out. I don't know how I would have managed to get rid of him on my own." 

Yun Xuan expressed her gratitude, not at all feeling awkward that she had stripped herself of the title of a former superior before her subordinate. For some reason, Lin Ye gave off a certain vibe that made her feel like he was her superior instead. 

"If only I had a way to repay you for what you did..."

Although he had been prepared for that move all this while, her words still broke his heart. He scratched his head awkwardly to hide his heartbreak. "It's nothing. I would have done it for anyone. I hate men who bully women. Besides, you are not just any woman." He saw that Yun Xuan raised an eyebrow and quickly added, "You are my former boss. How can I let people bully you?" 

Yun Xuan's expression relaxed. All her respect for Lin Ye had almost vanished the moment he said that she was not just any woman. Obviously, no one would like men who took advantage of women. 

Lin Ye secretly heaved a sigh of relief when she was not watching. What was wrong with his mouth? He had almost blown it just now. He needed to fit a new filter into his brain. 

He thought about the fity minutes and asked, for the sake of passing time, "Was that man not your boyfriend? Why did you want to send him off?" 

Yun Xuan felt weird when this question was asked. Why did it mistakenly look like he was a jealous husband questioning her about another man? She felt somewhat uneasy. 

"Well, he was actually my husband. However, what happened was a long story." She sighed. 

Lin Ye saw her sad expression and felt the urge to embrace her in his arms and comfort her. The sight of his goddess looking this sad made him clench his fists. He really wanted to give Tyler a new round of punches for whatever it was that he did to hurt her. 

He was this angry just by seeing Yun Xuan sad, without knowing a word of what happened between them. If he knew what Tyler actually did to her, wouldn't he chop Tyler, that scumbag, into pieces? 

Yun Xuan sighed. He had helped her out and she had no suitable way of repaying him. If she did not tell him their story, wouldn't he wonder why on earth he was beating Tyler up? He had after all only helped her out because he had seen that she genuinely did not want to go with that man. 

"Why don't we go somewhere else? I'll tell you about it." She said. 

Lin Ye felt his heart fill with ecstasy. He initially did not know how to spend one hour with her with her but now he did. He would make sure to ask as many questions as possible to buy time. Of course he would not ask anything that intruded her privacy too much. 

"Where shall we go?" 

He almost chopped off his own tongue when the question was out. Luckily, Yun Xuan knew nothing about his feelings for her. If she did, that question would have sounded ambiguous or even vulgar. 

Did his brain get filled with water every time he let his goddess?

Yun Xuan suggested a hot pot restaurant. She would only eat a tiny bit since she was not hungry. She had just eaten desserts. 

"You like hot pot?" He asked the question whose answer he already knew. 

"Yeah. I've always loved spicy food." She answered cheerfully. 

This Lin Ye was nothing like other men who would start gazing at her with their lustful eyes or making advances in their first meeting. He seemed to have a strong level of respect, perhaps because she was once his employer. It made her feel comfortable around him and  let her guard down. 

"I like spicy food too." He said and bit his tongue to prevent a smile from surfacing.
