Chapter 466 - Let's visit Ruoxi

Henry Blanc had nothing more to say. Since she understood this already, it was impossible for their relationship to be soured because of his mother's misunderstanding. 

He hoped that with time, she would stop being bitter about Amy Blanc's sentence and be on good terms with Lin Lihua again. 

Before then, he would make sure the two women did not cross paths too much. It would help to keep each of them in her own lane. Otherwise, scuffles between a mother-in-law and her daughter-in-law were the most difficult to handle. 

On a side note, everything was finally complete. He had moved Le Blanc Group's headquarters to Country C. Currently, Lin Lihua had gone to Country F with him because Katy would miss her if she did not go back with them. 

His trip back home this time was to visist his sister and at the same time, to complete Katy's school transfer procedure.

The young girl wanted to follow her uncle everywhere as usual, but she also wanted to be with Lin Lihua. Coincidentally, Lin Lihua had wanted to go on a short vacation so she simply tagged along and went to Country F.

After being together for a while and since her mother had gone somewhere without notifying her and was not back yet, the girl had grown closer to Lin Lihua. This was especially so since Lin Lihua kept accommodating her and treating her kindly. It was completely different from how her mother had previously said that Lin Lihua would treat her.

"Speaking of which, can you not spoil Katy so much? She will become a spoilt little brat just like her mother." Henry Blanc said. He liked the fact that unlike Amy Blanc, Lin Lihua liked Katy and the girl had grown to like her, too. Conversely, she did not want Katy to turn into a little poison like her own mother did. It was already enough to be regretful because of one person's selfishness as a result of spoiling them. They did not need another one.

Lin Lihua on the other hand, thought that he was being too cautious. "How old is Katy? Although she is a little spoilt, it is not too late. I will dote on her just like an aunt would do, but I will still teach her to stay on the right path and not stray away." She said.

"Her mother is in prison and will only be back after many years, and you are hiding the news from her. By doing this, you are already being mean to her. By trying to tear away from her the only affection she could get, don't you think you are being too strict with her? You must know, sometimes we may hurt those we love in the name of caring about them."

Henry Blanc was yet again at a loss for words. Lin Lihua always spoke her real thoughts with him. She would still do so even if she was telling him off. The most scary part was that she was always right. 

Sometimes, one could almost think that she was a tiny bit too intelligent for him. Luckily, he was still able to handle her. One unchangeable fact was that she was still a woman and his future wife at that. In fact, there was only three days until she was completely his. 

Hehe...the thought of it made him anticipate. 

Lin Lihua raised an eyebrow. Although she did not want to be part of what he was thinking about with that expression, it couldn't possibly be something good. She coughed and talked about something else.

"Can we pay a visit to Ruoxi soon?" She asked. Since she had been asking about her very many times, the orphanage director was finally convinced that Ruoxi was really the child that Lin Lihua wanted to adopt.

The orphanage director could not quite comprehend rich people's train of thought. What exactly did Lin Lihua see in Ruoxi? 

That was one dull girl who had no friends because of her dull nature.

Of all the kids in the orphanage, her background was the worst. It was said that her home had been robbed and her parents murdered in cold blood while she watched. She had only survived the ordeal because she was hiding behind a sofa and the thugs did not know about her presence, so they did not look for her.

Later, she had run away, closing her eyes to her parents' bodies in the living room and rushed to her uncle's home; but got sent away by him. He had sent her to the orphanage, pretending to not know her...

Ruoxi did not know this. All she knew was about her parents' death and that her uncle did not want her. Still, the trauma from that experience had left a huge dent in her life and made her fearful. Some teachers even thought that she could be autistic. 

Unfortunately, the reality of life was that everyone adored bright and lovable kids that brought smiles onto faces. Instead of helping her recover from the awful loss of her family, everyone tended to ignore the new girl Ruoxi. 

Her health was the worst and if anyone were to ask, she was no one's favorite child. 

No, to be exact, no one liked her. She was like a plague, wordlessly pushing people a distance away from her.  The fact that her eyes were always scarily forlorn like a devil's with a hint of coldness did not help much.

Was this really the type of Child that the superstar Lin Lihua liked? 

Obviously, she did not understand that it was exactly what Lin Lihua wanted. She wanted to adopt the least loved child at the orphanage, because that was her once upon a time.
