Chapter 429 - Was she looking to die?

Although they had been married for eight years and had known each other since they were clueless teenagers, he had only seen her cry once; when her father passed away. She was the type of woman who would smile even when at her lowest point. 

For a reason, he was worried. 

"Kara, I'm coming in." 

When she did not respond, he pushed the door open. 

The woman who had made his heart skip a beat smiled at him. As anyone would expect, her eyes were as bright as usual; she had not cried. "Why are you so worried? I'm cough..." 

"Kara!" 

Xu Liaowen's eyes widened. Did his wife just cough out blood? When his eyes darted around, he saw that there were some pieces of tissue which she had thrown in the trashcan, they had bloodstains. 

Without asking what was going on, he pulled her by the waist. "We are going to the hospital." 

But, she pushed his hands off her. "It's nothing. I ate too much spicy food just now." 

Her eyes were clear, he couldn't trace any hint of a lie in them. 

He was still worried, however. "How can I be sure that nothing is wrong? You coughed blood. We are going to hospital." 

He really did not know what to do with her. Was there anyone who ate so much spicy food that they coughed blood? Was she looking to die? Even if she no longer cared about her own health, she should at least care about Small Xixi, right?

That little girl was so drawn to her mother that if Kara was sick, she might fall sick too.

Seeing that her husband was angry, Kara didn't resist anymore. "Okay, the doctor will proove that I'm really fine.

Everyone was curious when they saw an angry Xu Liaowen pulling his wife towards the door of the villa. 

"Sorry, my wife is sick." 

He explained in one statement and left.

After Xu Liaowen left, it was no longer too fun, so the others dispersed too. 

Henry Blanc was staying in his Southside villa and because of Su Ling, so was Lu Shaoting. 

Basically, the only couple leaving Southside Villas was the Xu couple.

As usual, Henry Blanc and his queen wanted to watch a movie before going to bed. 

Before the movie started, he retrieved a gift. "It's from Amy." 

Lin Lihua took one glance and did not want it, even before opening it. "Can I not take it?" 

Henry Blanc shrugged and put it aside. Then he sat beside her, placing a hand on her shoulder. "Actually, Amy is not a bad person. She is just a spoilt little fool that does things without thinking." 

Lin Lihua didn't know what to say about him.  Spoilt little fool, really? "I don't understand why everyone says you're intelligent." 

Henry Blanc facepalmed. Did his fiancée jist critisize him? "Do you mean I'm stupid?" 

"Let's just say, you are intelligent in business and all other matters, but your little sister has you wrapped around her pinky finger." 

He remained silent for a while, taking in what she just said. "I only wanted the both of you to try and get along. You are both important to me, you know." 

Her expression was apologetic. "I know. I just don't ever get along with two-faced people. Sorry." 

"Why exactly do you think she is two-faced?" 

At this point, Lin Lihua realized that she was in an awkward position. Damn it! Was Amy Blanc some sort of secret supergenius? There was no way this matter was a coïncidence. 

But if she spoke up, Henry Blanc might have a fall out with his own sister as well as his family, and quite possibly, Lu Aotian. 

If she didn't speak up, she might end up being the one having a fall out with Henry Blanc and the Lu family (for not speaking up). 

Why. The. Hell. Was she the one to find out?

However, how could a girl years younger than her defeat her? 

She simply smirked. "Henry Blanc, do you actually expect me to tell you negative things about your own sister? Even if I actually thought she did something wrong, don't you think it would be awkard for me?" 

By reminding him what position she held, she made him conscious of the fact that anything might be used against her. 

Her phone rang with a new message. She peered at it when Henry Blanc stood to bring popcorn. 

[Mom: If you don't tell him before the banquet, you will end up being the one to take half the fault.] 

The said banquet was Lu Enterprises' centennial. 

She had to say it before then? 

When she placed her phone aside after chatting with her mother a little, Henry Blanc was back. 

"Your sister's boyfriend is..." 

She had to stop talking because he suddenly kissed her. 

"You were going to say something?" 

Lin Lihua returned his gaze. She was not scared of anything. She was just worried that the aftermath might be one of the things she hated the most: broken families. 

"How about...I tell my brother-in-law instead? It's more related to him after all."

Henry Blanc looked displeased. "Darling, are you seriously going to speak to other men before you speak to your own man?" 

"What if you are not ready to hear it and get too shocked or upset?" 

"Bring it on."

Lin Lihua sighed. At this point, he would not have an extreme reaction no matter how she broke it. 

"Before I tell you, promise me that you will not do anything irrational." She still had to make sure that she would not be at fault for anything.

"Chérie, spit it out already. You're making me nervous." 

"You heard about the incident at Royal Kindergarten, right?"
